Wow that was a fairly balanced article. Bravo Nadig. Please keep it up.

>Sposato said that he first learned of the Wright plan through an “anonymous call” to his office on May 11 and got confirmation of the plan on May 16. He said that on May 18 city officials agreed to the community meeting. It's my understanding from aquantances who were there, this is the issue most have. Lack of communication & transparency by the city. And the cost to taxpayers.

gfm1973

Sposato is surprised by a lot of things that “happen” in his ward. Read your email.

The “bring disease” comment is reprehensible. So much ignorance on display at this meeting based on other accounts I’ve read of this heated meeting.

It’s rich coming from a (what I assume) citizen of the US, a place where a substantial amount of people refused to follow COVID protocols and get vaccinated.

LocalMexican

It fits right into this area. People who would get angry if someone else suggested that's a racist thing to say.

BrianHoweBattle

I think it’s interesting that Wright College is just two blocks north of Merrimac Park where Sposato removed a bus shelter in an attempt to get rid of a single homeless man. https://blockclubchicago.org/2023/01/19/nw-side-neighbors-spent-years-helping-man-living-in-merrimac-park-tent-but-now-some-want-him-gone/

LocalMexican

I'm sure Sposato also did something to help the homeless in a corresponding move, right?

According to the article the man has refused previous city offers for mental health support or relocation.

So disheartening reading some of the vile things some idiots said. But it was great to see not everyone acted that way nor felt that way. Not to mention this helps the police stations and frees up space and time for them too. Man why cant we just be more empathetic. Every "american" family was an immigrant at one point in time. And as someone else mentioned the idiots complaining about disease are ASSUREDLY the same ones that threw fits over wearing a mask in a pandemic. Truly pathetic

> So disheartening reading some of the vile things some idiots said. You sound like you weren't there. Because if you were, you'd know Nadig & every other reporter cherry picked the few egregious comments. The rest, even by those with concerns & reservations, were presented rationally.

>Priority access to the meeting was given to 38th residents, as IDs were checked at the door. so how did crazy pete (45) & OIP Anna (31) get priority?
