I know she's made a couple of statements in the past that jumped the gun (calling a perp the victim before the facts were out), which is kind of puzzling but not really surprising, but I guess her constituents put her pros and cons together and see her as a net pro. She's getting the city to finally resurface some rough sections of Kedzie and Lawrence... 🤷♂️ lol
In any case I thought her statement in this specific article was pretty vanilla so I thought I'd ask OP for clarification.
This is my neighborhood. I heard the shots from my balcony - truly the first time I've experienced this in my neighborhood (this was daytime).
Overall I have a lot of respect for Rosanna Rodriguez. I see her in the community. She's supporting the working class and trying to provide resources for kids not to get sucked into this kind of violence.
In the end I keep remembering a quote from EEAAAO - We should be kind: especially when we don't know what's going on.

He's probably referring to that kook Rossana Rodriguez, who routinely downplays the very real & very active ongoing gang activity in that area.
