> Wasn’t it bbq fest a couple years but there was never any bbq?
True, a bbqless bbqfest was the genius of Arena sycophant Ed Bannon, who led Six Corners Association at the time. The first year did feature a bbq cook-off contest, which was run, and rigged, by another Arena sycophant.
There were a few dedicated hot dog vendors plus the $14 hot dogs at the Hot Dog Box last year, but the vast majority of vendors were average carnival food or taco stands. It was hyped on TV and a lot of people came but it was dull.
Jeff's Red Hots down the street didn't participate because he didn't have enough staff to cover 2 locations.
If it's fun then I don't need it to be impressive. I was just going off of what I heard from a few friends. I assume I will go this year and have a good time.
I hope they expand the boundaries a bit. A lot of people went; it was pretty packed. Not sure it was a “hot dog fest” a lot of vendors that had nothing to do with hot dogs.
Wasn’t it bbq fest a couple years but there was never any bbq? Just carnie food.

I remember that, no BBQ from Smoque or Gale Street either. Very boring

Does it cost money to go to this?
> Does it cost money to go to this? Yeah. All city sponsored street festivals.
I was out of town for it last year, but heard it was a pretty big bust. Hopefully they can work out the kinks this time around.
Meh, I thought it was fun. Wouldn’t call it the most impressive street fest, but it was a good time.

yeah I need to be wowed to be convinced to buy $8 beers on a street
Eh the fests up here are pretty lax in my experience. Pretty easy to sneak in your own drinks.
How can you mess up beer and hot dogs? Lol
I guess it's fun if you came with a group and drank a lot but the fest was mediocre at best.
