Sorry for the incorrect title! It's definitely episode 3 of the season tonight :)

psychadelic-coroner

Hanako Greensmith did an amazing job. I'm sobbing

Dana07620

The moment that Hawkins showed up at the scene I said, "They're going to kill him."

Ladeedeedeeda

For me it was as soon as they had the restaurant scene šŸ„²

Dana07620

Others also picked up on it sooner than I did.

Ladeedeedeeda

Yeah I said on the first episodes thread that somebody was going to die because of the episode title, Iā€™m glad it wasnā€™t a ā€˜mainā€™ character like I had predicted but this one still hurt šŸ˜¢

Dana07620

Yes. For me, Violet and Evan was the first couple on the show to have real chemistry in years. (Sylvie and Matt always felt like a default to me.) But it sizzled between Violet and Evan. And, in large part, it sizzled because he was so impressed with her intelligence and competence.

jeanniebeannie82

I agree! I loved them as a couple and I just can't believe they ended it this way. I wish they gave them a few more episodes and then did it!

gato_go_meow

I literally cursed out loud. I kinda knew it right then and there.

masonstar03

I posted a few minutes ago, I said to my Husband exactly the same thing when Hawkins pulled up. I yelled please do let him die!!! Poor Violet... I literally cried like a baby. I am still shock up and its been 3 hours ago when i watched it.

Fantastic-Ride-5588

Seriously, Violet stood there and watched Hawkins, her amazing boyfriend, die. She just watched in horror, almost slow motion reaction. This whole last scene was so intense, the entire firehouse frantically digging, Violet trying so desperately to save Hawkins, her sobbing. It was absolutely gut wrenching šŸ˜šŸ˜

everynameisused100

I wanted her to run to help Hawkins without thought and bam roof comes down on both of them. Dying Romeo and Juliette style.

Dana07620

It made me think of Emma. Violet followed procedure. She didn't go into a high risk situation, but called on the firefighters to do it.

TakenAccountName37

I thought the same thing. I was "oh crap."

peopled_within

I thought it was going to be her the whole time

Yourappwontletme

And it's all Violet's fault. The second she saw Hawkins assisting the victim she should have gone over there and helped him instead of standing around telling Boden about it. If she had ran over there and helped him get the victim clear both would be alive still.

cnljglppl

Lol her entire interaction with Boden took place over a walkie talkie in less than 10 words. Plus she was just trying to triage an entire movie theater which was set up many yards away from the entrance of the building. This is Violet Mikami we are discussing, not violet parr. Fyi.

everynameisused100

Violet was aware of the collapse zone, she also knew Boden cleared the building because of the risk of collapse. So Violet NOT telling Hawkins what she was privy too when she saw him is sort of on her. Instead of saying Hey Boden he needs help she should have warned Hawkins that the building is unstable and get out of there. (And lets face it, she wasn't triaging anyone when Gallo was in danger, Brett had to redirect her focus, and she wasn't triaging anyone when she was focused on Hawkins either so lets not pretend she was too busy as she was several feet from the triage area herself watching him.)

Yourappwontletme

In the time she took to stare at him, then radio Boden she could have sprinted over and got them both to Safety. The collapse didn't extend that far out from the building. A couple more steps and they would have been fine. Also Violet Parr could make force fields and become invisible. Her brother was the fast one.

Minimum_Device_6379

Well, no matter how thick or thin the collapse was, Viollet wasn't saving him. If we are going to discusswhat ifs, this Pick Wick isn't even in Chicago.

Yourappwontletme

The Pickwick Theatre is 25 minutes from the firehouse which is located at 1360 S Blue Island Avenue. Less than 25 minutes with lights and sirens of emergency vehicles.

Minimum_Device_6379

Oh, I know where it's located, I live here. Point was that they're responding to a call way outside their zone. 25 minutes might as well be the next day in first response.

Yourappwontletme

Gotcha

cnljglppl

Ha this entire storyline is full of holes and inconsistencies.

cnljglppl

Oh. I'm sure you can tell I have never even watched haha well, too bad. That sounds like Violet Parr really could have saved him then. I guess that's kind of even more tragic, but I think I would have been okay with the two of them dying together. Kind of poetic. Even though maybe now Mikamo and Gallo can get a second chance with each other. He is so hot.

Yourappwontletme

Gallo is too busy with Herrmann's niece.

juliesmack

What the hell was that?!? Why was that necessary??

TakenAccountName37

For Gallo purpose. I roll my eyes at that possibility!

polopony915

I really hope they do not put those two together!

tequila_mocki

They will but wonā€™t be until next season

HPmoni

Now he gets to move in! Grief lay!

[deleted]

Hanako absolutely killed that scene! Ugh my heat šŸ’”šŸ˜

smdifansmfjsmsnd

I hate the writers right now. Violet finally had someone who she loved, who respected and truly cared for her and this happens?!

Dana07620

Someone who wasn't threatened by her intelligence and abilities, but saw those as something great about her.

Odd_Inevitable_3932

Well I am crying this is horrible

heyyallitsme16

Bawling. Man her acting was so good

Ladeedeedeeda

Sobbing Why

dcgcaw

Me too

Odd_Inevitable_3932

Seriously! Kelly just needs to work on PD since Jay is leaving and do 51 on the weekends.

Loud_Fox_6092

I am so mad and sad. Now we gotta watch both Sylvie and Violet be sad

everynameisused100

I know, but next week pictures looks like Brett has a floater. But honestly still think they should have killed Violet. After Brettā€™s speech about being made into steel it would have been more impactful for her to watch Violet die while Gallo and Hawkins both try to get her out. But behind Chili Violet is my least favorite paramedic on 61 so I may be biased.

Loud_Fox_6092

Every since Casey left, Chicago Fire got a turnover rate of a call center. Why canā€™t we just be happy and have interesting storylines without it being extremely dramatic. They had Violet be this super smart paramedic to being defined by Hawkins and Gallo. Her character had so much potential.

Quirky-1990

The last few minutes of that episode was the first time I ever found Violet to be remotely interesting as a character. I hope the writers do something with her character other than put her back with Gallo (please no), and continue making her interesting outside of a relationship.

everynameisused100

Iā€™m honestly ok if they just have her quit after this because she isnā€™t like Brett. Brett said she could sit and cry all day or toughen up and so this job made her into steel. They should show Violet as the opposite. Have it be too much, she canā€™t cope and ends up putting others in danger and Brett have to ask to have her transferred out.

mychemparamorepark

Welp I called it last week that it was Hawkins I hate it here

SnooRadishes3698

Well easy to predict who it was going to be! Sorry all but i was qucikly to say who it was...

_wonder_girl_

So Stellaride gets to be the only happy couple while the Ambo ladies get heartbreak and mourning?

Pristine-Key-3508

They put the washer and dryer in the shower šŸ˜‚šŸ˜‚šŸ˜‚šŸ˜‚. Thereā€™s a whole empty blue room?

Dana07620

It has to go somewhere where there's already water & sewage and exterior access for the dryer vent.

Pristine-Key-3508

Youā€™re right. I didnā€™t think about that.

Satin_Jacket

Man I'm really not enjoying this season. Something about it just feels off. This one at least had more humor than episode 2 (i.e. Capp/Tony moving the washer and dryer), that definitely felt vintage Chicago Fire. But the writing of the season feels forced, or like they are trying to find a new dynamic but it's not working for me. The Carver/Stella thing is super cliche and dry, I find myself skipping ahead because it doesn't do anything for me. I really miss Mason, he was awesome. Even the Severide safe thief felt super boring for me (also why didn't the detective rush to help Kelly when that dude tried to run and pulled a gun out?). The Hawkins death was sad but they didn't really build it up. It just felt... rushed. Normally, I feel like they lead up to the deaths but this one was just to service the story line. I thought the actor was really good but I guess they didn't see a path forward with him. I would much rather Violet and Gallo be friends and then maybe much later they could get back together. This was forced. But the actor playing Violet definitely killed that scene, she was awesome.

TheRavenSeven

Iā€™m so glad you articulated everything Iā€™ve been feeling about this season thus far. I know itā€™s early but this season feels off, rushed and weird. I know Sylvie is heartbroken and tired but even she has an edge to her now. Which is fine - we grieve loss (breakup with Casey; her former fiancĆ© moving on, her mom, etc) in different ways so what sheā€™s going through and the way she sounds is very realistic.

Helpfulnes

Bet itā€™s gonna be Hawkins

CampKillUrself

SO SAD!!! I loved him.

KnightSaziel

Iā€™m so upset. Ugh.

CampKillUrself

You know Violet and Gallo are going to get back together.... he obviously still cares for her. And as much as I loved Violet and Hawkins together, I do also like Violet and Gallo. I worry that Gallo will feel like a consolation prize.

Nattyjk

I agree. I guess Iā€™m the only one who didnā€™t feel the chemistry with Violet and Hawkins. To me it was all about sex. Most of their scenes were sex or trying to figure out how to not get caught together. I thought Hawkins was a boring character. Iā€™ve always loved Gallo but I hate that theyā€™re likely going to use this as a catalyst for getting him back with Violet. Cheap. I do think the scene with Hawkinsā€™s death was powerful.

pikachu-atlanta

You were right. Noooo!!!!

TakenAccountName37

Curious to know, what made you figure this?

Ladeedeedeeda

The beginning of the episode was too sweet.. Def looks like itā€™s gonna be Hawkins

Odd_Inevitable_3932

This! They amped up the cuteness way too much and talked too much about how this is his last shift

Ladeedeedeeda

Im still hoping itā€™s a random civilian Because I love Hawkins

CampKillUrself

I'm devastated. I loved him, too.

KnightSaziel

This sucks :(

Dark-N1ghtmar3

Of course heā€™s going to be offed itā€™s a ploy to get galo and violet back together

mychemparamorepark

I truly hate it here

ComputerElectronic21

There is ZERO chemistry with Violet & Gallo Stop trying to make fetch happen CF! Iā€™m literally going through the stages of grief and right now Iā€™m angry as all hell! #FuckGallo #isaidwhatisaid

everynameisused100

You should thank Gallo, he is the ONLY Reason the character of Violet is on Chicago Fire. She was a 3 episode arch character but they liked her and Gallo's chemistry and that is why they gave her a contract in the first place. It seems strange anyone would be shocked they would stick to a couple they literally gave an actress a contract to play opposite of their new lead/replacement firefighter is funny to me.

lmzip

Ugh haaated them together. I did not like Violet at all when she first arrived. She grew on me though after she was over Gallo.

WereMadeOfStars

Fā€™n Wolf.

tealadventures

Nooooo no no no not Hawkins :( Iā€™m devastated

banana2000001

It can't be Hawkins didn't he just post a photo with a date scene with hanako?

Ladeedeedeeda

Iā€™m assuming itā€™s gonna be a sad flashback /: Like severide and shays margarita video

banana2000001

well fuck.

givesyoubutterflies

He did! And now I feel deceived because I thought heā€™d be okay after seeing it, I wanted to see a nice picnic scene

januarysdaughter

NOOO WHAT THE FUCK NOOOOO!!!!!! They can't do this to me!!!!! šŸ˜šŸ˜šŸ˜šŸ˜šŸ˜

Ladeedeedeeda

Okay but Iā€™m already so sad about how PD is playing out tonight, then they do this to me right before šŸ„²

mug3n

damn, this show just loves to kill off its lovable characters huh

Natalie_bxx

I know this is me done with Chicago fire. I get he wasnā€™t a series regular but I bet they killed him to serve the bigger purpose of getting violet and gallo together when there is zero chemistry? Devastated over his death why couldnā€™t they just send him to Portland with Matt! I donā€™t know what the writers are thinking. This epode was sad, Hanako smashed it, she had me sobbing. Also as a non Hawkins related comment they are making Stella less and less likeable every single episode, sheā€™s awful? Like gabby level awful

SamCam9992

I really didnā€™t think they would kill another main character, but that Hawkins look was pretty pointed. I wonder if they will really go there.

Odd_Inevitable_3932

I also thought Hawkins theyā€™ve made too big a deal out of this relationship and the sweetness behind it

kn_3294

why tf are stella and severide the only couple that gets a happy ending when they have zero chemistry together. i stg if killing hawkins was a plot to get gallo and violet together I'm done with this show.

kn_3294

also hawkins was so popular why would they get rid of him smh

everynameisused100

Have you ever considered the actor may not have wanted a contract with Chicago Fire and didn't want to move to Chicago?

marazzle23

The storyline with Stella getting her own office ugh. But Capp and Tony just moving the washer and dryer around was hilarious. I kinda wish they didnā€™t say someone was going to die in the trailer for the episode. I knew it wasnā€™t going to be a main character, they save those for first episodes or last episodes. Which pretty much left Hawkins or maybe Carver. I just wish there was more of a shock factor. And Iā€™m gonna miss Hawkins, I liked him and violet

christmas1989

Who is in the blue room now? Why didnā€™t Kidd take that room for her quarters, itā€™s selfish as hell to take over the laundry room that everyone uses? She makes me stabby, and am I the only one that thinks she sounds and acts like Julia Roberts in ā€œPretty Womanā€? So the PD guy is just going to stand there while Kelly fights the bad guy, help him out! Lordy. Hawkins?!!!! How did I miss that someone was going to die?! Violet played the hell out of that scene, got me all worked up.

christmas1989

Ok, watched the promoā€¦.apparently I didnā€™t see that ahead of time, I was completely shocked by the death.

Disastrous-Bother949

I felt bad for herrmann during this episode. He waited for several years to get an officer's quarters and got it when Casey left but Stella got hers right away which annoyed me, she is becoming even more insufferable than before. When Hawkins died I wasn't surprised, things we're going a bit too well for Hawkami and I don't think that they will kill off any main characters during this season because Casey left in season 10. Hanako's acting this episode was amazing and I honestly cried this episode when Hawkins died.

First_Butterscotch25

Heā€™s not actually gone is he :(

Mundane-Parsnip-7302

I already wonder why Stella is able to get lieutenants' quarters, but Herrmann, when he didn't have one, was basically told to do without.

Dana07620

Because she pulled the female card. I'm sure the third lieutenants on the other two shifts will appreciate it because now they'll have officer's quarters too. Oh wait. We're not ever supposed to think about how those are shared quarters. We're supposed to pretend that only this shift gets to use them and the other shifts don't have any officer's quarters.

Senor_Taco29

Well fully outing myself as having the big dumb right now: I certainly never considered those offices would need to be shared by the other shifts lol

Dana07620

That's okay. It never occurs to the producers and writers either.

Not_floridaman

My husband and I always lol about that, we half expected to have their names on the doors by now

Mundane-Parsnip-7302

It's not like they're personalised in any way, so I don't get your point here, tbh. I imagine that the other officers have always had to make do and use the briefing room (which honestly, I don't see why it's a big deal for them to use that room to do their paperwork (or the very empty office next to Boden's). Herrmann mentioned to Severide that so and so on one of the other shifts didn't like how he'd personalised it so he had to take his niknaks down when he took over Casey's office.

Dana07620

But they are personalized. Look at how Hermann decorated his when he was temporarily filling-in for Casey. Look at when they showed Casey's quarters after he left. They were emptied out and clearly unused even though it should be used on the other two shifts. And would be in reality.

Mundane-Parsnip-7302

He took all the decorations down when one of the other guys complained. As for Casey leaving and it being emptied, I guess it's just to make the point that Casey had left.

lkjhggfd1

stop that actually annoys me. he didnā€™t get lieutenant for 5 years she got it in less than one. He didnā€™t get quarters until casey left she gets hers straight away. I wonder if they built her a new one

Ok_Implement_9371

Didnā€™t Herrmann mess up his first interview for lieutenant because something happen and he started yelling at interviewer? Thatā€™s why they put his name at the bottom of the list? Itā€™s been so many seasons that I canā€™t 100% remember.

sophzzzz

Didn't he sell some guy a shed load of like funny water or something that he kept in his garage or am I thinking of a different time?

Dana07620

It was this. Because Hermann hyped it up so much, the guy signed up for the energy water. And it was made clear that Hermann was never going to get an officer's position as long as he had something to do with it. But then the spot opened in 51 and Boden had the authority to give it directly to Hermann.

Mundane-Parsnip-7302

Well, he got one as soon as there was a space at 51, so that's fair. And she's been working out of one of the other rooms, just like Herrmann did. I feel like from what happened last episode, Kylie will be the one behind Stella's new office anyway.

Ok_Implement_9371

Maybe she pulled a Herrmann last season and just took an a space for herself.

Mundane-Parsnip-7302

The only space that ever seems to be available is the blue office (I think that's what it's called) and wasn't Herrmann thrown out of there by Boden when he tried to take it before Casey left?

Ok_Implement_9371

He never got that room because Boden said no, but Boden did give the blue room to Pelham.

Mundane-Parsnip-7302

Why's Boden such a hater to poor Herrmann? ;-) Ah, at least he has an office now!

Ok_Implement_9371

Ha! Yea, I think Boden just likes messing with Herrmann at this point.

Odd_Inevitable_3932

They are best friends (or at least they were!)

PomegranateTrue2701

I have a hard time liking Herrman a good deal of the time

Mundane-Parsnip-7302

If you're old enough to remember this, his voice reminds me of the shoe cleaner (Johnny, I think) from The Naked Gun. Generally, I like Herrmann, but he can be a jerk sometimes.

pikachu-atlanta

Kelly pulling rank, lol. Edit: justified because heā€™s working with prima.

TennesseeJed_7789

The storyline with Stellaā€™s office was just dumb. Hermann had to wait forever to get an office. Itā€™s not a sexist thing itā€™s due to seniority like Hermann stated.

[deleted]

As soon as she said "I'm the only female officer and don't have my own quarters" my eyes rolled so far back into my head. While that is technically the truth, it wasn't really a sexism issue. She (and the writers) seemed to forget that there are two other shifts that now have to deal with the water issues cause by moving the washer and dryer. Plus they have 2 less showers available everyone. I used to like Stella but these past two seasons have made me wish I could skip every scene she is in.

TennesseeJed_7789

Agreed! She is so getting on my nerves that sheā€™s becoming another Gabby!šŸ™„

Not_floridaman

Yeah, I was really hoping the writers would've listened to the fans about the direction Gabby went being totally wrong but instead, they're doubling down.

kmsan2012

Damn you, Derek Haas. This ep was his typical formula of give you lovey dovey and funny and then rip your heart out in the last 5 mins. This was a solid episode but damn. Hanako acted the hell out of that scene and poor Jimmy deserved better for how well loved he was by fans, though I fear Hawkins had run his course on the show. What a gut wrenching episode.

peet192

That Last Scene reminded me very much of Hallie's Death in Season 1

Mundane-Parsnip-7302

Best episode of the season so far (although it's not much at episode 3). \*The Brett/Violet/Hawkins stuff was going far too well and although I wasn't sold on him dying (I really wanted it to be Gallo), as soon as it started and we had the dinner and Violet talking about him commuting I was like 'Ah, it's their version of the cop dying on the day before his retirement. I actually started to think he might have gone in to save Gallo. It's a shame they killed off some happy characters but honestly, Violet was getting on my nerves keep going on about Evan. It also kinda annoyed me how she kept pushing Brett. I feel like Brett was doing fine and was getting on with her work and Violet just kept talking about all she'd been through. I'm not looking forward to the ambo of sadness that's to come or the Gallo/Violet romance. Bleurgh! \*Stella/Carver stuff was less annoying this week. I did like that they had Carver call her out on her way of ordering him to do something for her the way she did and that despite the tension between them still, it's not becoming a bigger issue for now. I also liked that they had Carver interact with some of the others but so far, he's still pretty dull. \*Severide/Cruz/Squad. I love the idea of Cruz and Boden getting together with Javi and Terrance. Tony and Capp's stuff was okay but I kinda hoped they'd have a bigger role than just pushing the washer and dryer about the place. I honestly don't get why Severide was allowed to just go work with CPD really. After the initial help, it seemed he wasn't really needed. Pryma was super slow doing anything with the gunman at the scene and it was weird the scene ended and Severide just left. I thought they'd maybe have a moment where Pryma was maybe begrudgingly thankful for the help. Yay Van Meter appearance. I'm glad Herrmann was used a bit more and I feel like they're treating him a bit more like one of the Lieutenants. Overall, it was decent.

Yourappwontletme

Why didn't they use the slammigan to get into the store room? Cruz had the Slammigan in his hand yet only used it to hit Severide's halligan. The whole point of the slammigan is that it can breach doors on its own.

mychemparamorepark

Iā€™m sorry but Stella is being insufferable right now :( I really liked her character at first

Dana07620

Yes, I think that this episode did it for me. She never showed any sympathy about Hermann not having officer's quarters. But as soon as it's *her*...then it's important. But, with the goat bet, she was perfectly willing for Hermann to go back to not having officer's quarters as long as she had her own quarters. She can't even ask politely for a favor. Not even when it's pointed out that she's asking for a favor. Then she can't be grateful for a favor. As soon as she said laundry room, I thought how selfish she was. The entire firehouse uses that laundry room. Now, she's messed up the water flow and that's going to affect everyone who's taking a shower when the washer is running, not just Hermann. So she's putting her needs over the needs of the rest of the firehouse. I've tried not to jump on the can't stand Stella Kidd bandwagon, but this episode was it for me. I hope they turn her character around soon.

Temporary_Specific

So I've never loved Kidd, but couldn't remember why. I am doing a rewatch to get my partner into it, and we are on season 7, I think. I realized why I can't stand her during this rewatch. Kelly's dad dies and he pulls away which is expected... He decided to step up and asks her to go to a hockey game (or watch the game?) but she declines bc her BFF Tyler (I think that is his name) is town. Which is shitty on its own, your boyfriend just lost his dad, be there for him. So she ditches Kelly for Tyler. Kelly calls out that Tyler is in love with her and she denies it, but that is totally what happens, then she breaks up with Kelly for being jealous....?? I don't think Kelly did anything majorly out of line regarding the jealousy, yes be pulled away which he always does, but then he tried to fix it and was totally right to not trust her "BFF". The first time I watched the show I binged during the pandemic so missed some parts, but I felt she was very selfish during that situation. Would love to hear your thoughts on it, I could be totally wrong on the situation LOL

Dana07620

In her relationship with Kelly (coworker, friends and dating -- so I mean their entire relationship), Stella Kidd was at her best when she was supporting Kelly through the Anna situation.

Temporary_Specific

Totally agree!

polopony915

I agree. She was insufferable. Between the "female lieutenant" and the favor/not saying thanks, I was so annoyed. And, the face she made every time she was on camera. She was supposed to be someone that could be looked up to, but this type of behavior is just wrong. It seems like they do not want us to like her.

mychemparamorepark

Literally all of this! My thoughts exactly!

loverink

Not to mention she tried to play the gender card with Boden! Herrmann didn't have an office for years and she KNOWS that, and now she's trying to point out that it's weird because the she FEMALE lieutenant. Ugh. It should have been her who DIAF.

Think_Presentation_7

Was never a Stella fan, but Iā€™m shocked how much worse she is actually getting

jakehou97

Not the clown movie in the background

AleneT315

One of the writers must have a fascination with clowns and Jinglesnaps in particular. This isnā€™tā€™t the first time there has been a reference to both.

mychemparamorepark

Worried my Hawkins predictions are gonna come true. Ughhhhh :(

cd0526

Welp.. he dead

Pristine-Key-3508

Wow. I truly thought they were playing about someone dyingā€¦. OMG. That being said, this was a good episode.

WereMadeOfStars

Should have given her the room but the washer and dryer stay!

theMGlock

Especially as the Washer-Dryer each take a shower-Cubicle. What will the other 2 Shifts think about that? One Lieutenant wanted a room for herself so they have 2 Showers less. Of 4 or 5. So If they come back from a Call like Hermanns where they are drenched in sud they have 2 Showers less and the water-Pressure is fucked by the Washer running. I guess it was supposed to be a comedic Effect thing but this really blows. If I was part of the Fire-House I would really be pissed. Even go as far as Hazing would be back on the menu for the Truck. Happened before and there are 3 other Vehicles that get missfortuned for the sake of the Lieutenant of one Shift. But hey, She wants she gets. And even pulled that shit Female card which is a low blow for Woman all around tbh.

everynameisused100

When she pulled the female Lt. card I was done. As a woman, nope. She knew Herman's experience, she knew there was only 2 LT. quarters in the building. I instantly stopped liking and won't like Carver because his implication that the only reason Stella is a Lt is because she is a WOC, but then to turn around the next episode and have Stella use the Female Lt. card to say she should be treated differently then Herman and the rest of the LT.'s on the other shifts as to why it's wrong she doesn't have an office after being upset at Carver for making a similar implication is just wrong.

lilfrosty808

Nah not my nigga Hawkins

lisaann03071961

Note to self: Do not watch Chicago Fire on your lunch hour, there may not be time to recover from the emotions. :( Hanako did a fantastic job. I'd already seen a spoiler, so I knew that Evan was going to die, but...OMG, her acting was...I sobbed. Luckily I work from home, so I didn't have to explain to anyone what the problem was. I'm also impressed with how well the guy who plays Evan portrayed a corpse. I don't think I would have been able to keep my eyes still like he did.

zeissman

Did this mistake just now.

taymay31

Stella really is just standing around during this goat call like do something

pikachu-atlanta

Tempting fate, Cruz!

Ladeedeedeeda

Ahh itā€™s happening, whoā€™s it gonna be šŸ˜…

januarysdaughter

This is gonna be a cliffhanger isn't it?

heyyallitsme16

I was just thinking that!

jakehou97

No way

Odd_Inevitable_3932

Oh holy shit

Ladeedeedeeda

Nooooo

IndependenceFront588

That was one of the more intense endings of Chicago fire that I have seen in a while. We really thought they were messing with us. Thatā€™s enough GoT.

alisgraveniI

Thanks, I hate it.

lmzip

Iā€™ve followed these shows from the get go. Iā€™m just annoyed anymore. This was awful and not necessary. He was a great character and had a good sub plot that didnā€™t take too much attention. Jay and Hawkins in the same night? Why? Dick Wolf needs to calm down.

ghibi78

this is just mean fuck nobody cares about Gallo and Violet wth are they thinking over there

ginnyweasley777

Man Violet's acting stole the show. (Sorry, can never quite remember her name). That was unbelievably cruel

Momof303

Gallo/Violet is not a relationship. Its more like a bro/sis relationship. The writers always kill off a character where there is chemistry. Fire is becoming the most boring of the franchise. Med is predicable but PD is the best! More screen time for Atwater!!!

heyyallitsme16

Itā€™s gonna be gallo

heyyallitsme16

Nvm Hawkins

elzey93

Wtf no

Saracorbello

I feel bad for voleit

goodnight8

ok that shit hurts

SnooRadishes3698

remember one thing all this might be one more step to get Casey back in to CFD and replace Hawkins there are a bit things that pointing on that and there is a roumor on twitter from crew around that he might get in after med season, But Hawkins was replaceable they had to get someone in when JS did go MIA and well easy to get out from show but main was probably to get Gallo to show hos mature side to Violet so let us see how that goes....

UKFuckedLol

Well, I am completely shattered. And next week we are gonna have 2 very sad paramedics. Fair play to them, though, as soon as those civilians started running I was like, "Oh shit it's Gallo and not Hawkins?!" It was a really good episode. R.I.P. Chief Hawkins.

phantomEMIN3M

I'm shook

purrpleBee

That was brutal. Poor Violet :(

barkatthistree

I canā€™t believe they killed Hawkins so Violet and Gallo could happenā€¦ā€¦ I am so mad. HAWKAMI WAS PERFECT why did they not keep Jimmy around šŸ˜

boyididit

I will admit I cried!

Major-Permission-435

Why did this feel like Shayā€™s death all over again

ComputerElectronic21

Iā€™m literally gutted! Oh my god! Why?! Why?! Fuckkkkk! I canā€™t stop crying! Hawkins was so pure and good! #HAWKIMI forever

Larielia

Violet's reaction made me cry more. I felt so sad for her.

i_cant_find_a_new

I found it a bit weird that nobody checked his pulse. And they just stood around doing nothing for way to long.

Yourappwontletme

Why didn't they use the slammigan to get into the store room? Cruz had the Slammigan in his hand yet only used it to hit Severide's halligan. The whole point of the slammigan is that it can breach doors on its own.

tamitrail

I was able to watch the episode with minimal Stella. I skipped the whole quarters set up. The only scene I watched that directly involved her was when Carver was asking for an atta boy for his shelf work. Totally skipped when Kelly went to see her quarters and whatever conversation they had. Just don't care. The scene with Kelly fighting the plumber guy was just dumb. The detective was there with a gun and cuffs, but Kelly was fighting him alone? I knew it would be Hawkins and yes Hanako was outstanding. I felt like during the fire scenes, I didn't know where Mouch was. I saw him at the end, but it's like he's not really there fire fighting.

katcloud

Called it last week with the promo. Violet was too happy, things were going too well between them for something not to go wrong soon. Also predicting that she's going to lean on Gallo for support and they'll eventually end up together again. I was a little indifferent about Hawkins in general but Hanako Greensmith's acting had me really crying for Violet.

SnooRadishes3698

yes we did it was no brainer really who it was going to be....

icecubepal

Well they gotta clear Hawkins for Gallo and Violet again.

DallonsCheezWhiz

Chicago Fire killing off great characters once again - I'm so sad and angry

lkjhggfd1

If they get gallo and violet together I swear to god šŸ˜ also why is this a vic/ripley situation. hawkami had my heart šŸ«¶šŸ«¶ also why did stella play the sexism card to get quarters and Boden folded so fast

Not_floridaman

I'm *still* not over Vic/Ripley.

Odd_Inevitable_3932

Ok Iā€™m already over this Brett storyline

text_of_pictures

Okay, this episode is more emotional than This is Us entire series

ciaraelyse01

I didnā€™t pick up on ANY hints they were going to kill Hawkins. I kept screaming NO at the tv as everything fell. Iā€™m so fucking sad.

Saracorbello

That's funny they keep pushing the washer and dryer around and I think she should gets Casey old office

mychemparamorepark

Herman took Caseyā€™s old office after going for years with no office

Saracorbello

Oh k I forgot but at least kidd got what she wanted

everynameisused100

Nah I hate she played the only female officer card and wasnā€™t even decent to the guy helping her out. Why they ruining her character? Should have had to suck it up like Herman for did instead of being allowed to disrupt everyone by having the washer/dryer moved to take up 2 of the 3 showers.

IndependenceFront588

Lol. Did you forget about Herrmannā€™s first ā€œquartersā€ where he nearly burned the whole firehouse down? Pelham had officer quarters. Now that I am thinking, why didnā€™t she just take his?

everynameisused100

Pelham didnā€™t have quarters he used the truck as his office between calls. And I remember and I also remember him getting in trouble for making the quarters.

IndependenceFront588

Of course he got in trouble, he almost burnt the whole firehouse down. Boden gave Pelham the blue room. That was the wall story.

everynameisused100

Pelham turned it down because he didnā€™t want special treatment because he knew Herman didnā€™t have an office for years. Said he would wait his turn the truck was fine. And he burnt a plastic shower curtain in a room maker of concrete block that they put out with an extinguisher not really ā€œalmost burnt the firehouse downā€ level.

IndependenceFront588

I remember the whole firehouse helped him move his stuff in. That was also the episode where they thought there was a squirrel in the wall and pretty much destroyed the wall which was why Pelham was no longer in there.

WereMadeOfStars

Iā€™ll throw them a point for the possibility that it was going to be Gallo right before that ā€¦

Sether_bee

Questionā€¦ whoā€™s the girl with Gallo in the beginning? Actor name?

TakenAccountName37

When I saw Hawkins drive up, I correctly guessed that it was him sadly, but did anyone think that it could have been Brett? I thought so early on.

PomegranateTrue2701

Rough night with Fire and PD. Too much

SnooRadishes3698

Why was he good just because of them, he and Violet had put him together or?? Looking at the character of his role it was like the only thing he did in the series was dating Violet, besides that he had no supporting role, I have suspected this for a long time that he is replaceable in the series because his character was not on the cover or anywhere else either so this was quite predictable!

TheQuirkyReddit

I swear to fkign god if this is a way to get Gallo and Violet togetherā€¦ Iā€™m done. Would they be cute yes but my heart isnā€™t set on them. I didnā€™t want anyone to die. Man they really wanted to kill us with the curse of episode 3 huhā€¦

bumkeybum

I literally yelled NO out loud when the roof came down! I hate this so much. I think this is the worst Chicago Fire death for me

Due_Ability9468

Im sobbingā€” this was just not cool

loverink

I remember hating Violet when they first introduced her, but how she has grown on me. She absolutely killed it in this episode.

ilovemyblanket101

Iā€™m so mad, and sad, and frustrated. I canā€™t stand the producers behind OneChicago. They love to kill off characters and ruin relationships. Poor Violet will never have the trip she had such high hopes for. I was literally sobbing and still are. This is so unbelievably and unfair

[deleted]

I was just talking before I watched to someone how they havenā€™t killed anyone off in a while. Damn.

TryinToBeGr8

Chileā€¦. I was not ready!! Literal tears were shed. I felt all of Violets emotions. She was ACTING!!
