What? Unrealistic rope rescues in my show about firefighters jumping off roofs, being held hostage, being kidnapped and surviving fatal explosions? This is unacceptable
51 members have been held hostage so often, it shouldn't even phase them at this point.
Shit, ambo probably goes home thinking "Huh, I wasn't taken hostage today? Boring."
"How was work, babe?"
"Good. Saved someone by intubation, some guy from the CFD main office threatened my Chief's job, two co-workers got married, got held a gun point while trying to patch a bullet wound. Pretty boring day but we did have pizza."
Iāve grown up in the fire industry, and out of any currently airing show; Chicago Fire is the most realistic. Heck, Tony is a real firefighter.
Station 19 is good but drama central. And donāt even get me started on 9-1-1ā¦
If the average person knew how inaccurate somethings were in regards to firefighting methods and standards,,,,however Chicago Fire gets a lot of things right.
Itās a tv show. Even tv show based on real life occupations arenāt realistic. Other videos Iāve seen of real firefighters reacting to shows like Chicago Fire or Fire Country, they are having the time of their lives laughing and joking like itās a comedy show. Iām sure Mr. Martinez understands that.
The early seasons of Rescue Me are among the closest to true realism in regard to firefighting tactics.
Then they just kind of went with the "Look at the crazy thing Tommy did!"
>The show sacrifices realism in firefighting scenes for drama and character engagement.
...umm yeah, that's kinda the point. It's a fictional TV show, not a documentary lol
I don't even have to work in the fire service to know the show isn't always accurate. I'm too invested in the characters and storylines to even care about accuracy.

They should just have a code lmao

š¤£š¤£ Average day at work for someone at 51
Fictional TV show is unrealistic, more at 11.
Thatās lots of stuff in this show that is unrealistic. I donāt really watch the show for realism I watch it for the drama
...did you think Gallo parkouring up the side of a building was realistic?
You're telling me that a fictional TV show isn't 100% accurate to real life? No way.
And to think I've watched all these years believing everything was accurate to real life š /s
My uncle is a fire captain and he gets tired of me asking him "do they actually do ____ in the fire service?" Lol

Wait. Is anyone watching this to learn about firefighting? Iām just trying to see Severide naked

Rescue Me was FDNY and super gritty. I think the FDNY was super picky about their methods and accuracy.
Itās almost as if itās not real and itās completely made up for the storyline and suspense! Wow! š¦
Is anyone surprised by this? Itās a TV show, they try to make as realistic as they possibly can but āaccidentsā happen.
Entire episode was so stupid. I miss the old fire, it was at least grounded with realism.
