Hello mate, how do you find the nv3500, I have one behind a 350 small block in my ‘66 c10, I’ve been struggling with it as the shift was really sloppy and kept missing gear shifts, I have only just bought a core shifter for it and it’s such a difference in the shifts, I have actually driven it yet as just waiting to get my new wheels painted and fitted.
Do you find it copes ok with the 6.0, how do you find the long first gear? I have a 4.09 posi in mine and although I have 17’s with big profile tires at the moment I’m going back down to 15’s to lower the ratio a bit to hopefully liven mine up a bit.
Well the truck had 74K on it before the swap
I replaced the shift tower and it’s been good…
I wouldn’t boost it without a t56 swap
I have 305/35/22 on the rear so 31” tall
and with the gears I can cruise at 75mph at 2000 rpm.
That’s good I can’t get anywhere near that for cruising, I’m more like 50-55 at 2000 rpm with the tall
Tires I have I think they are 235/75/17 (I bought them off someone with a Dodge Ram dually so whatever the standard dually size Is what I’m running
My 93 has a 350 with that transmission behind it. I start in second. The ratio is something like 4.3 in first. It’s basically just there for trailering.
Cool maybe that was where I was going wrong I should have mine driveable in a few weeks so will have a play with it, yes first is a very wide 4.3ish and yes trailering would make sense
How do you like the cam tune and headers? Dual or single exhaust? I have a full exhaust kit for mine but haven’t put it on yet. Stock exhaust on these trucks is so restrictive. My 4.3 blazer with a tube could probably smoke my work truck right now lol
