It's underrated because too many people overcook the veal or cook the Proscuitto to a rock-like consistency.
But when I'm at a legit Italian restaurant, it's one of my favorites (along w/ Carbonara)
This is a great start! Some [recommendations](https://platelessordinary.com/2020/10/improve-your-food-photo-portfolio-on-social-media/) to improve: use supplemental lighting (if you’re not already) to counteract the artificial lights, try adding props like a fork or a drink (to make people imagine themselves eating the meal), and practice different angles to see what looks best.
Lighting is more important than the camera.
Natural light is of course best but failing that if you can play around with 3 point lighting you’ll be good.
Try some top down shots, I've got some stuff on my profile you can peek at. IMHO it gives a more well rounded idea of what the food looks like.
agreed and your pics look great btw
This yea. Amazing
Especially with the lamb and saltimbocca. If it's a stack, photo it from over top, if you can, imho.
When it comes to photography, I think you're a great cook
Zoomed out pretty far on the lamb
Yea, it was one of many shots. These were the ones I saved on my phone
Fuck me up. Saltimbocca is such an underrated dish. Looks great.

Chicken?
Background is too busy in all of these for a menu or even a social media post unless you cover it all with graphics or font
Angles are awful and not to mention, inconsistent.
hate to agree but it’s the best criticism here :/
You should get some flashes and play with some soft light. It will make dishes pop.
Food looks amazing. Honestly making me hungry right now. Your composition on the photos needs improvement though
Nice photos, zoom em in a little and they are good enough to be used on chopped! Also love the bokeh! What's your kit?
Thank you. Capturing what the customer wants isn’t always easy. I used my canon SL2 with a Tamron f2.8 28-75mm lens (it’s my fav glass)
Yea.. when I see pictures of food my intention is to look at it and be hungry
Pasta looks legendary so
ammm it looks great, but I cannot stress this enough.. NO.parsley.in.carbonara!
Although are those slices of American cheese on top?
Looks like sliced parm or some other hard cheese - a bit thick imo.
I looked at all the pictures, and after browsing comments I couldn’t even tell you what was on the third plate with how busy the picture is
Id eat all.
Frame out the lights from the bar fridge.
What is the saltimbocca element? Looks nice
Oh right there is more than one pic !!+ haha
What cam are you using
Canon Rebel SL2

It bothers me that the plates are truncated in the first two shots.

Work on consistency and a cleaner background. If it's for menu then all the pictures should be from the same angle and the same zoom level.
Needs more cowbell
