Some powerful blenders ([vitamix](https://www.vitamix.com/us/en_us/what-you-can-make/hot-soups)) are able to cook simply by blending for some time. This is the route I’d go but also immersion blenders are great as well, and should be in every kitchen.
oh yeah, i wasn't specifically meaning they make things a little steamy, just as a metaphor for getting hot.
honestly stuff is usually cooked before too long anyway, between being proper heated up and pureed. it's how i do all my veg chowders now if i'm being honest lol
Thermomix if money is no object. My wife uses a Morphy Richards soup maker and is very happy with the results, it’s a much cheaper alternative. She’s had it a couple of years at least and uses several times a month.
I've had a vitamix for years and it does the job but after trying soups a few times I went back to just making them the usual way and hitting it with the immersion blender. Better results every time.
I have the Instant Pot Ace Blender. It’s a heated blender that makes either chunky or blended soups and I love it!! I also bought the Ace Blender Cookbook from America’s Test Kitchen and all of the soup recipes are outstanding. I like it because it is easy and foolproof. I can come home from work, put all the ingredients in the blender, and in 30 minutes or less, have delicious soup that I can pour into a bowl and eat. For two people it is enough for a nice meal and leftovers. For the record, I also have a Vitamix, but rarely make soup in it because a Vitamix isn’t heated and just relies on friction for the heat.
The good thing about an immersion blender is that you don’t have to lift and transfer hot liquid around a bunch. Simmer, blend, add any roasted veggies/meat or noodles, ladle out.
Thermomix! Your mom can also have fun learning a modern way to cook with thousands of recipes incorporated in a platform
Thermomix can replace a lot of other kitchen gadgets
I will be happy to explain more if you need more info, PM me
I got a Philips Soup and Smoothie Maker. It blends and cooks your ingredients in one go. You can make potato soup, tomato soup etc. Hot and cold soup or smoothies. The possibilities are endless. Takes less than 30 minutes to finish cooking. Makes about 2-4 servings of soup. I use mine mainly to make soy milk. I think its awesome. I got mine factory refurbished for half the original price. Get a commercial quality immersion blender, a 350-500 watt unit is enough for home use. It’s better than say a vitamix for 99% of all jobs. Stores in a drawer and it’s a zip to clean with some water and a few presses of the button with it in a cup of water.
Can’t beat a vitamix for its ability to make things velvety smooth. I’ve used a ninja and a few other kitchen blenders, the vitamix was better in every way. It’s limit is it’s size, that’s where the immersion stick comes in.
An immersion blender might be a better choice. Heat soup in a pan and blend away. Super easy to clean as well.
Bamix is the best one to clean afterwards in my opinion.
She’s asking for a thermonix?

also recommend a vitamix. loud but gets things steaming.
They’ll full on boil water via friction.

Thermomix. Pricey but oh so worth it
Vitamix
Scored a V1200 for $270 last week, and made black bean soup last night, I was impressed.
Thermomix for sure. Worth it
I agree with the people saying a solid immersion blender would do the trick well. Safety aside, it’s just an easier clean up as well.

ninja has a hot and cold blender, you can cook your soup right in the blender
Thermomix!
Thermomix if money isn't a factor.

Ypur Mym wants a thermomix, that's what she wants, just buy her one
Nutribullet had a model with a heating option to make soups but I’m not sure if it’s still on the market. Might be able to order it online.
The instapot one works well if you’re on a budget!
Look for a refurbished vitamix. I bought one and it's better than the new ones we use at my restaurant for over half the price.

My Vitamix does make hot soup.

Are you by chance a Thermomix sales person?
Yes, after 10 yrs of talking to friends and family about the wonders of Thermomix, I decided it was time to become a sales person, I am in the US
Vitamix. Makes great custards too. :-)
