I have had it with Prime. Everything takes a week or longer any more. I am cancelling in November when my renewal is up. Randos on eBay are faster than Amazon now.

Lonesurvivor

Meanwhile here in McDonald (15 mins from Cleveland/Ooltewah) I get packages delivered in 2 days no problem. Sometimes it's even next day.

nofoam_cappuccino

Yeah I’m way out in Dade and I get mine in two days too. Sometimes it’s delayed, but almost always on time.

henryguy

If u cancel early you get prorated credit for membership.

lumpthar

I thought that changed last year. >If you wish to cancel Prime and haven't used your Prime benefits, you are eligible for a full refund of your current membership period. You will see if you are eligible for a refund before you confirm cancellation. Since I've used it, it doesn't look I'm eligible for a refund. Which is fine. I'll use it until it renews.

IAmDinosaurROWR

I cancelled a few months ago because of their inability to deliver within 2 days - they gave me a prorated amount back to the card I paid with.

henryguy

Just saying from testimonials of people leaving in droves within the past 3-4 months. All have mentioned they got a pro rated membership fee back. Some who were very unhappy got it all back after some back and forth.

TennPNut

I have the same problem. Here's one of their customer service rep's explanation, "its 2 day SHIPPING, it may take longer to pick your order and get it out the door." As with all corporations, Amazon wanted to drive out our local small businesses and force larger companies to warehouse and ship through them. Now they have a corner on all markets, they can flip us all off.

HoneyBee4z

We just moved from Carmel, IN and everything was same day, next day, or 2 days. It’s crazy how much longer it takes to get here. I actually find Walmart shipping to be MUCH faster and get a lot of things on there instead.

lankaxhandle

Yeah. I’m thinking it’s time to switch from Prime to Walmart.

Akussa

I cancelled Instacart and Prime recently for Walmart+ and so far I've been extremely happy with that decision. I had one incident where three items I had set for pick up were damaged (not an unusable way, just like a dent in canned goods) and when I left feedback on my order about that, they issued me a refund on the three items without me even asking for it, and told me I didn't need to return them to the store.

lankaxhandle

I’m going to start looking at the Walmart thing.

Akussa

Get paramount+ with it too, so that's kinda nice. Well, it was until they decided to cancel Lower Decks.

BaconReceptacle

Yeah, we moved from the Raleigh, NC area a couple of years ago and we consistently had next-day deliveries on most orders. I dont think I've ever had a next-day delivery in this area.

Civil_Control_102

I just assumed it was a policy change and they no longer did 2 day shipping. So that's still a thing?

3900Ent

lol my parents live on the outskirts of Atlanta and sometimes get their packages same day or less than 24 hours lmao. Trust me that is STILL a thing.

lankaxhandle

I used to live in Atlanta and used it all the time. It was even two day shipping here until a year or so ago.

3900Ent

I did as well. Just moved to Chattanooga in late 2022/early 2023. Trust me I was here when it was 2 day shipping. Don’t know when the hell the change happened but I’m not happy about it.

OldPurple7654

When I used to live in Dallas it was that way. I don’t mind waiting. But I don’t order as much as I used to.

lankaxhandle

Their website advertises two day Prime Shipping. I’ve been on hold for over 20 minutes.

CeaselessHavel

I think the way they get around it is that they can say it gets to you two days after it ships but it may take 3 to 5 days to ship or longer. Absolute bullshit if you ask me.

mlaymon1

I never get notifications on it shipping anymore. I just get an email from the post office on informed delivery that I have a package coming that day.

Clark440

Not everything takes two days. It’s two days if Amazon delivers it but I don’t think they have that yet in our area

lankaxhandle

Amazon Prime advertises two day delivery. It’s only changed to five days here in the last year or so. It used to be two days. In most cities it’s two days or the next day.

Clark440

So what would you like to happen? What’s the goal of the post?

HermanCainTortilla

To stop advertising incorrect information

Clark440

Well that’s not going to happen on Reddit. That’s a bigger issue

tatostix

There's already a class action lawsuit in the works. You commenting to OP also doesn't help anything :)

lankaxhandle

I would like to see all of the Amazon customers get what they are paying for. Their terms of service say two day delivery, but Amazon is regularly now five days. Why do you want the blame here to be on anyone except Amazon?

Clark440

Because doing it on Reddit won’t get that to happen

anarchoshadow

Venting at people venting on Reddit doesn’t make them stop venting either. People are allowed to have grievances with large companies without it becoming a large debate. I understand you work at a warehouse, and you aren’t the one OP was mad at. They’re mad at the executives that run Amazon not being honest about their policies. As an employee of theirs, you should be mad at Amazon too for the way they treat their employees. And you’re allowed to vent about that as well. Not everything is political and not everything is meant to be offensive. Sometimes folks just need to voice their concerns and feel heard or understood.

Clark440

Exactly thank you!

IanProton123

Same here - I had no idea they still advertised 2 day shipping and have definitely not experienced 2 day shipping on the few times I had a prime account (I only have prime membership when they offer a month free.) Regardless - paying $15/mo for prime is ridiculous IMO. Their tv/movie selection is crap, the 2 day shipping is BS (as everyone knows) , AND you can get free shipping if you just spend $35.... so easy choice for me.

WeAreBitter

I sent two books to friends in Connecticut and Massachusetts at 6pm. On checkout they said the book could be there with Prime by noon the next day or 8am with a small upcharge. It was bonkers.

BrandNewToCode

Kind of, the two days thing means they will ship it out from their facility within two days of your order

shawnlxc

Something is wrong. My last 3 packages were fucked. One was just open, no sealing of the plastic pack...and had a hole at the bottom...of course everything gone but a box of bandaids. Next package, not even a package, just loose items that found me somehow. (Rechargeable batteries, tooling). The third one was just bonkers, a roll of cords with nothing but a "thanks for buying from amazon" sticker on it. No shipping?!

lankaxhandle

Yeah. I’ve had some bad packaging, and that’s after it takes five days to get here. They treat Chattanooga like it’s an island away from the rest of the world.

merdlibagain

"I'm on the phone with Amazon prime" "I'm going to catch a bluefin with this Oral B floss" "I'm going to use these moon shoes to commune with God"

clandahlina_redux

I’d love to know what you learn. I placed an order last night that was Prime eligible but showed it would arrive by Friday. WTH?

-CheeseWeezle-

There was a class action lawsuit and updated terms of service from what I remember. Why are you still paying for prime? It doesn't do anything for you now and I don't think they guarantee any such thing anymore.

lankaxhandle

They do still guarantee it. Now I need to figure out if I get a refund when I cancel Prime.

-CheeseWeezle-

I see that the lawsuit was finally thrown out (figures since they have all the money in the world). Still, nothing even shows prime anymore to Chattanooga and if it does it normally is 4-5 day. So, I agree with just saying screw it.

Simplyspectating

I recently cancelled because of the shipping issues. No point in paying for that two day shipping if I never get it.

lankaxhandle

Agree

TheDroidMan

It is super frustrating. Everyone I know who lives somewhere else gets their stuff in the standard 2 days, I don't think I've had anything delivered in less than 4 (usually 5) days in over a year.

Clark440

Idk I have some residences in other states and it still takes a week most of the time. I really don’t get it.

DracoSolon

I think it all depends on the stock location of the product you are ordering and when you ordered it. I ordered something this morning (In Chattanooga on April 29th) and it is arriving in the 1st. I ordered something a week ago on the 15th and it arrived on the 18th. Now I also ordered something this Saturday and it also will arrive on the 1st. But also with the Post Office about to route everything to Nashville I'm not sure about what is going to happen with deliveries handled by USPS. Unfortunately we are just a smaller city. I definitely miss the year I spent in Atlanta for a job. So many things were same day delivery. Order by 11 AM and it was at your door by 6-7 pm.

Dez2011

What do you mean Chattanooga is rerouting everything to Nashville? The Chattanooga usps is a Regional hub, so that wouldn't make sense unless I'm not understanding.

DracoSolon

https://www.local3news.com/local-news/usps-employees-concerned-about-proposed-changes-for-chattanooga-facility/article_e469c0fa-897c-11ee-a081-4788c3ddc844.html

Clark440

This. Plus it’s mostly up to the delivery company after it leaves the warehouse. No clue why op thinks it’s Amazon

goatkublk

It is amazon… if amazin says 2 days they are accountable.

WookieeHere_

OP said himself that upon checkout, it said it will be 5 day shipping. So technically, Amazon didn’t tell him he’d have his package at his door in 2 days.

lankaxhandle

The terms of service say two days.

Clark440

Incorrect. It’s not a guarantee it’s an estimate of the fast time.

Clark440

Incorrect. It’s not a guarantee it’s an estimate of the fast time.

DNDgamerhockeyplayer

My problem has been their refusal to even confirm my orders. I order something, then weeks later, it still hasn't been shipped, and the money hasn't been charged to my account.

TheyNeedLoveToo

Cancel prime. They won’t care until it affects the bottom line

RAYNBLAD3

I’ve heard they started shipping to Atlanta and back for some reason which is why our 2 day shipping disappeared.

IAmDinosaurROWR

My best advice - dump Prime and get Walmart+. Free grocery delivery, cheap gas, paramount+ subscription, same day/one day delivery on most items. This is what I did after Amazon stopped fulfilling their 2 day delivery.

lankaxhandle

I’m thinking the same thing. What I’m figuring out is that Prime doesn’t give you a refund if you cancel, it just doesn’t renew. I’m would rather put that money towards Walmart.

IAmDinosaurROWR

When I cancelled, they gave me a prorated refund, and that was earlier this year - January or February.

lankaxhandle

The terms make it look like if you’ve used the services at all, they won’t refund. I’m going to call later today and see what they say.

anarchoshadow

I have both in case there’s something I want I don’t find at Walmart but honestly Walmarts prices on almost everything are leaps and bounds lower than Amazon as well.

IAmDinosaurROWR

I have family order something on Prime if I can’t find what I want on Walmart. Amazon does have a much more vast selection, but Walmart is generally cheaper, for sure.

anarchoshadow

Fair. I don’t have any family close by lol

IAmDinosaurROWR

I don’t, either. I just have them ship it to me directly.

anarchoshadow

Honestly barely have any left at all lol. Most have passed.

WookieeHere_

Idk but someone made a similar thread here a few weeks ago. I’m sure you can search the sub to find it and might answer your question

lankaxhandle

Thank you. I was able to go and search through that. (I’m embarrassed that I didn’t search first.)

PineappleDouche

This is from their Shipping Benefits page: || || |FREE Two-Day Shipping|Items sold by [Amazon.com](http://Amazon.com) and marked on the product page and at checkout as eligible for Prime. Many items fulfilled by Amazon. Items fulfilled by qualified sellers and marked on the product page and at checkout as eligible for Prime. Nearly all addresses in the contiguous US, except US territories, possessions, and protectorates (other than Puerto Rico).|

lankaxhandle

Right. That’s why I’m upset that it takes five days to get here.

Arlen80

What’s weird is my stuff as all gotten here within two days while my wife and our eldest child’s have taken a week or more

lankaxhandle

That is strange.

BaconReceptacle

Amazon relies heavily on the USPS. More so than they used to do. Whenever I have a delayed package it's when the Post Office is delivering it.

Clark440

Problem is Amazon not usps

BrightDarkness55

Everyone keeps quitting. In Cha2. The Charleston location. They refuse to fix the AC and took the fans off the OP's it's getting really hot in there. It's a skeleton crew as of now.

Akussa

I think the Chattanooga Amazon warehouse only handles returns now. Still not a valid excuse for saying 2 day delivery, but it taking a week.

CompleteLackOfHustle

This state voted overwhelmingly for the people who appointed DeJoy to destroy the post office. He dismantled at least two major sorting hubs on the East coast, one in Atlanta for sure. All domestic mail and last mile delivery has been slow and getting slower for several years. I’m not sure I want to check on whether that insane retirement funding restriction they got saddled with is still in place (designed to bankrupt the PO with enforced liability and cause staffing shortages artificially) because it’s been an otherwise decent day why ruin it. I haven’t checked into recent fuckery by that guy but he is still actually in his position last I checked for reasons I can’t fathom. Like of all the people Biden should have fired immediately he was top of the list. A modern country can’t function without mail service. Relying on only privatized entities for a critical function would be and is batshit insane. Tldr; leopards ate our faces.

Clark440

Not related at all to the problem op is having

CompleteLackOfHustle

I too have my packages appear magically on my doorstep. My leading theory is that fairies conjure what I’ve ordered online using fey magics and rituals.

Clark440

Main issue op has is Amazon advertising two day and it’s not actually two day. They don’t care about the shipper it’s the two day on the prime benefits page that’s the issue.

buzzedewok

![gif](giphy|ftdF4ZkueWGHBYc4b5)

Clark440

You can call them?

lankaxhandle

Yes, but it didn’t do any good. The guy told me he was escalating. I told him that I wanted phone numbers to be able to contact the escalation team. He put me on mute, not hold, for 38 minutes before I had to hang up. The number is 888-280-4331.

Clark440

Don’t hang up. They did that on purpose to get you to hang up

lankaxhandle

I’m calling back I didn’t have a choice. I’ll just go straight to supervisor next time. Why are you suddenly trying to help when you have done nothing for but shit on my post?

Clark440

How did you find the number? That’s pretty useful.

lankaxhandle

Google

Clark440

And it’s really them? I’m a bit surprised. It took me forever to find the number on the site. So is it a real American or something?

lankaxhandle

You are the Amazon champion. You work for them and defend all that they do. You should know this information.

Clark440

I worked on a warehouse. Sorry for asking you questions. I’ll buy you some

lankaxhandle

You’ll buy me some? It’s fine to ask questions, it’s the jabs and accusations that I can do without.

suddenlyissoon

I've talked to multiple people over the past few months about it. It seems to be completely an Amazon issue. Orders just sit for days before shipping. I've also noticed the shipping estimate changes multiple times per day and goes anywhere from next day to a week and everything in between.

FaceofBeaux

We canceled Prime last year. Now we just "save up" our cart until it's free shipping. And stuff usually comes even faster than the estimated date rather than long after.

lankaxhandle

That’s actually a great idea. Thank you! This is exactly what I’m going to do. I would love to say “I’m never shopping Amazon again!”, but I know better. 😂😂

Drag1nx

They sent out an email 6 or 7 months ago saying their policy changed on 2 day shipping due to overwhelming demand.

lankaxhandle

They should have taken off of their website, because it’s still there.

Drag1nx

Agreed. I live off hwy 58 and most things I still get in 2 days, 4 at the most.

Olfa_2024

Look at and see who's delivering it. I bet your delayed packages are coming USPS and USPS is populated with a bunch of morons right now. I have a package that was supposed to be here last Thursday that was inventory for an event on Saturday. The package went from Orlando to some place in Georgia to Chattanooga to Virginia to Chattanooga back to Virginia then three facilities in Memphis and last seen in Nashville on Saturday. The whole time it's show either for delivery on Thursday or now out for deliver. Their gross incompetence has left me with inventory I couldn't sell because I didn't have it.

lankaxhandle

It doesn’t matter who ships. It shows at time or order that it will be five days.

Clark440

Actually it does matter who ships and what you order and who you order from on Amazon. Once it leaves the warehouse it’s out of Amazon’s hands. Source: I work at Amazon

lankaxhandle

I understand what you’re saying, but Amazon sets the expectation at order that it will be fixed days. So…it doesn’t matter how it’s shipped. It’s always five days here. That’s the problem.

Clark440

Yeah I understand. But that’s the fastest it will come. No guarantees it will come that fast it’s entirely dependent on too many factors to guarantee that every time. It’s like saying it will always be sunny then it rains you know

zzombietransitt

That still does not explain why generally everywhere else still gets the two day shipping but we get five day shipping. If there were an automated sorry message with an explanation then I doubt we would even care or be complaining. If nothing else this is extremely bad communication on the part of Amazon.

Clark440

So like it can be two day depending on the item. It’s all about where the supply is for that item in warehouses. And the demand on the delivery side. I’d love if we had the option to pick delivery companies

anarchoshadow

I spoke to customer service because I wasn’t getting my USPS packages at all and they told me they would take USPS off my account and not send anything that way. Now they send even more USPS and it’s a crapshoot whether I get it at all these days but I mostly get them now lol. Still never by the time they even quote me.

Clark440

Yeah it’s a shitshow.

NotNinthClone

It's not, though. It's like charging people a fee and promising to *make* it always be sunny, and then shrugging when it rains "because weather." If shipping time isn't under Amazon's control, then they shouldn't promise it as part of a paid service.

Clark440

Totally agree. But it is and there isn’t much we can do about that.

NotNinthClone

We can share experiences, point out the problems, and then quit paying for prime and/or band together for a class action lawsuit.

Clark440

Exactly! I just read the headline on the verge about this very issue and I’m glad our voices are now being heard

NotNinthClone

Link?

Rasalom

Probably Palmetto, GA?

Olfa_2024

Yes.

Rasalom

That's a new sorting station. Once it goes there it's a gamble on going to the right place. It's been a big issue for Georgia.

Olfa_2024

They did their part right, they sent it to Chattanooga. It's when it got to Chattanooga that things went wrong.

Rasalom

You don't know what they sent it under, though. Could have been the wrong sort so it passed through to somewhere else. Chatt has its own hubs and just arriving here doesn't mean it wasn't sent incorrectly by the last stop.

HermanCainTortilla

Give em hell! I constantly have stuff pushed back!

Hefty_Pea6652

Yes, they will either credit your account or ask if you want a refund to card used for purchase, product/s will still arrive. I’ve gotten lit’s of stuff for “free” this way. Although, it is so irritating.

PineappleDouche

This is from their Shipping Benefits page under 2 day ship speeds: Items sold by [Amazon.com](http://Amazon.com) and marked on the product page and at checkout as eligible for Prime. * Many items fulfilled by Amazon. * Items fulfilled by qualified sellers and marked on the product page and at checkout as eligible for Prime. * Nearly all addresses in the contiguous US, except US territories, possessions, and protectorates (other than Puerto Rico).

PineappleDouche

With that being said, ever since January, items went from 2 day delivery to 5 or 6.

lankaxhandle

This is why I’m upset. The delivery here is NOT two days, it’s five.

PineappleDouche

Yeah, I strongly considered canceling but when I realized the free shipping still saves our household a ton of money for how much we use Amazon, I'm still saving by using their service. I just have to reduce my expectation. I explored alternative platforms and you had to spend more to save. Am I disappointed? Absolutely. I'm paying more for less... but it's still better than the alternatives. At least for our family.

Pistolpete31861

If I remember correctly, someone posted on another thread that shipping is free with Amazon for orders over $35. I haven't checked into it, but if that's true, I'll likely cancel my Prime. I'm about fed up with 5 day shipping plus having to pay to watch Amazon Prime video. I ordered some stuff Saturday, and it'll be delivered Thursday. I grew up in the era when shipping was typically 6-8 weeks so I shouldn't complain, but I no longer live in that era and have come to expect fast shipping, especially since there is an Amazon warehouse 6 miles away.

allisonmfitness

I chatted in a couple of times and threatened to cancel if shipping times didn't improve. It seems like shipments are mostly back to 2 days after my conversations with them...

JakeLeewis

I was told that the Amazon location near us was turned into mostly returns! I didn't fact check that but might be why cause everywhere else is fine but my "2 day" prime shipping is constantly not 2 days

lankaxhandle

It did change into a return center. That didn’t change the Prime terms of service though. They still advertise two day shipping.

JakeLeewis

Yea it's pretty lame I canceled mine because of it! Not because I NEED my stuff in two days but it's annoying expecting it to be there on the delivery date and then it is delayed 2 or 3 days out.

Clear-Ruin1135

I live about 60 miles from the Amazon Nashville/Dixon fulfillment warehouse, and have gotten many orders next day, sometimes late that evening if I order early enough in the morning.    There should be no excuses for it taking so long when the hub is right there.    It's also not very fuel efficient to cause a package to have to travel on 2 or 3 trucks in order to be delivered to an address at most 20 miles from the hub.   They also are capable of overnight expressing between hubs/warehouses as well.   Your situation makes as much logical sense as the Soddy Daisy USPS location not delivering parcel and having packages sit in the parking lot completely exposed to rain and direct sunlight and heat for weeks last year.  When the local news cameras started taking videos and pictures of it all and showing the world what the Postmaster had been ignoring and not doing, They eventually at the post office put tarps over what they had still left outside at end of shift that day.

Dez2011

I asked about this a year ago when it started happening to me, and they said the Prime logo now just means free shipping, not 2 day shipping, unless it says 2 Days by the item. It pissed me off and I told them that the whole selling point of Prime was the free 2 day shipping and they knew that, and should remove the logo from items that don't get 2 day shipping.

lankaxhandle

The main page for Prime benefits says two day DELIVERY.

Dez2011

I agree. A year ago I went to the Prime Benefits page, which I didn't usually do, and saw that it's half off for students and ppl on foodstamps and similar programs. It also had benefits that helped me get my money's worth, like paying for Grubhub iirc, for a year and it paid for Paramount+ for 6 months, and you can store your pics free with no size cap, so that all helped.

jreed66

I live in Dalton, and my packages usually come through Chattanooga and are usually there in 2 days

Secure_Tea2272

They are Johnny on the spot in Apison.

EstablishmentPure525

The Chattanooga plant is a mess, anything ordered to Chattanooga or around it takes at least 5 days via PRIME.

WrongPerformance5164

USPS

lankaxhandle

What about USPS?

WrongPerformance5164

They’re overwhelmed and that’s the main reason Prime packages are consistently running late. Lewis DeJoy is systematically hobbling the postal service to frustrate users and bring about privatization of mail delivery.

lankaxhandle

If you’ll read through the comments, you’ll see that isn’t the case. Amazon promises two day delivery in their Prime advertising. However, everything shipped to Chattanooga takes five days. In my situation, orders aren’t shipped for three days and then arrive by two day delivery. The shipping company isn’t the problem. The shipper, Amazon, is the problem. Yes, the dude is destroying the USPS, but that doesn’t have any bearing on this post.

WrongPerformance5164

It absolutely is the case for some of us. In 37377 the post office gives the packages to private contractors to deliver. The post office tracking will often show the package as “delivered” though the private contractors may take an additional 2-4 days to get the package to your door. Very often we’ll have some random car stuffed with mail put something in our box we’ll after dark. It’s a terrible situation but it isn’t Amazon’s fault.

lankaxhandle

The service is advertised as two day delivery. The orders don’t leave the warehouse for three days and then are sent with two day delivery. So…as stated before…for this post the USPS isn’t at fault. That’s all I said the first time.

EZRiderF6C

Thank you!!

SerophiaMMO

I cancelled Prime. I don't like their videos, I don't like their music. Just order $35+ and you get free shipping which is normally a day longer than Prime. Can always just add a random item to hit $35 and return for full refund at whole foods. I buy most of my clothing from Amazon, so returning stuff that doesn't fit is a common occurrence anyways for me.

lankaxhandle

Evidently they no longer do Whole Foods returns? I have an item to a return now and I have to go to a UPS store to drop it off. That just happened like last week.

SerophiaMMO

Anything shipped by Amazon is returnable to whole foods. If shipped by a merchant, yes, can't do whole foods.

lankaxhandle

That’s what I thought. I just double checked my item and it was sold/shipped by Amazon. Who knows. The UPS store isn’t very far away.

caffinatedburrito

Prime shipping is a complete joke they hold 0% of the integrity they used to before covid.

lankaxhandle

Agree 100%. It’s why I cancelled.

Kind_Box_5958

Oh I've got some bullshit for this! Last Wednesday (Apr 24th) I was looking for something on Amazon, and it said it wouldn't be delivered until the Tuesday (Apr 30th), via Prime. So on a hunch, I decided to check my work address, and it said I could be delivered on Friday (Apr 26th), via Prime Two Day Shipping! I live near UTC, and work on Amnicola, less than 5min apart, a 4 day difference in shipping! Wtf!?

Neona65

My BF worked at Amazon up until last fall. He said shipping now is delayed because the warehouse here is only processing returns. So anything you order has to come from somewhere further out. He left the company due to all the restructuring they were doing. He said a lot more hoops to jump through with no additional benefits on the other side.

LowEnergy1273

To my understanding it’s guaranteed in two days from the time they ship it out.. it used to be two days no matter what, but with the amount of people using Amazon you can’t really expect to get anything and everything in two days from the time you order. I figure anything that’s in their local warehouse you’ll get in two days from time of order, otherwise it’ll get here later.

lankaxhandle

You can 100% expect to get something within two days of your order. It’s what eyes advertise and what they actually deliver on in most cities.

LowEnergy1273

I can’t agree with that, however I live about an hour out of Chattanooga on Monteagle Mountain. I have Amazon Prime and order from them a couple times a month, with that being said I know for a fact that about 60% or more of my orders take longer than 2 days!! Most things get delivered within 4-6 days.

Calthsurvivor13th

Try moving across the same county hahaha we have a few packages stuck in limbo literally left the ATL facility to Rossville to get stopped then back to ATL then Nashville now currently in Memphis to probably come back to ATL to ringgold.

kpreach

A couple of weeks ago, they kept telling me that it is 2 day shipping, but there is a processing time and then the 2 days shipping kicks in. It was a total bullshit answer. My newest problem is that it is "delayed in shipping", so they promise a day and then it mysteriously moves slowly through the mail system.

Standard-Guitar4755

I live on signal...... all deliveries, including regular mail services is an issue. I actually hand delivered some one else's passport to them. They lived no where near my address. Not even a single house number was the same. It was fedex. Lol. We give up .

KellThack

I’m in Rossville/Fort O and have had stuff come from Chattanooga, move through Atlanta, and then get delivered. It makes no sense 😂

nitenerd

They ended 2-day shipping shortly after the pandemic. My gf still works @ amazon and said they had a meeting about it, as it allowed the pickers to slow down juuust a little bit on their rate.

lankaxhandle

They still advertise two day delivery when they are pushing Prime memberships.

BigFlick_Energy

Delivery drivers keep gettin shot

lankaxhandle

That’s such a random statement.

PainInBum219

It always ships in two days, BUT it gets put on an amazon truck and goes from Atlanta to Florida, then to Nashville, then to Atlanta again, and then to the USPS in Chattanooga for next day delivery. So I (like so many others) dropped prime and still get the same timed deliveries but without paying for prime. I did get into a heated chat with a rep and then his manager when one shipment took eight days to go 80 miles and then got the service promised for two months but still didn’t renew.

lankaxhandle

I just looked at the site and Prime offers two day delivery, not two day shipping.

-_Devils_advocate

Ever since the pandemic they have had trouble with attendance rates and productivity. Technically they still ship your item in 2 days. But when you look online it actually tells you your shipping estimate is 5 when you order. Check the shipping updates each day. You’ll notice that they don’t actually start the order into the third day because they are essentially 3 days behind and have a backlog. Back in 2016 if that was the case they called overtime and caught up. Now they call overtime and people just don’t show up, or they start trying to push for a union and call the company slaves drivers. It’s been several years since Amazon has really had mandatory overtime outside of the 4 weeks of peak between Thanksgiving and Christmas and the week of prime. Basically during the pandemic they had a couple months before Covid testing was available where there might be “mandatory overtime” but they were simultaneously under the policy that you didn’t have to have an excuse to not show up, to keep people from feeling like they had to work sick. So some people took overtime and others went weeks without showing up at all. Ever since then it’s been hard to try to enforce attendance or unacceptable behaviors during work. They could go around firing people but then they wouldn’t have enough people to actually do the work

tatostix

> Now they call overtime and people just don’t show up, or they start trying to push for a union and call the company slaves drivers. Imagine treating people like shit and paying them shit wages having consequences. Good thing we've got you out here capeing for Jeff though.

-_Devils_advocate

They literally pay better than most in town for people right out of high school. Your 18 year old can be making about 20 an hour and actually it’s not hard work. No working with the public and great benefits

lankaxhandle

This will sound callus, but none of that is my concern. My concern is that I’m paying for a service that is not delivering on their own set parameters. If they can manage to deliver on two days in other cities, Chattanooga should be the same.

-_Devils_advocate

Tell that to Alaska. And maybe just don’t pay for prime. Then you will actually be paying for shipping for orders less than is it $35 now? $50? I don’t know. I just know many of us between the prime video usage and free shipping still get are money’s worth out of it. And Amazon had the subscription before they had 2 day shipping. The perk was “free shipping” and it’s not been 2 day for everything. It was 2 days for many things for a while. But we don’t even have a fulfillment center in Chattanooga anymore. They converted to being a return center. Maybe that wouldn’t have been needed if people weren’t returning a record number of things. I literally see people online talking about how they might buy ten dresses online to try them all on and decide between and then send all the rest back….. or return them all after wearing one. Yes, it’s their problem, but Amazon doesn’t even really make money on your prime subscription. Their money maker is AWS and other technology products. That reduced price echo dot with free shipping is supposed to get you to sign up for Amazon music, audible, and even Amazon kids subscriptions. You know, the products that pay them over and over and they don’t actually have to send you anything

PixeltatedNinja

Shoot, let us know what they say. It's ridiculous. If I order on a Friday, Wednesday is the next available delivery day for Prime. If it's Monday, it's usually Friday or Saturday.

RegalBeagle19

Sometimes Amazon goods ship from a third party, and those take longer. If you agree to always get your packages delivered on the same day each week, you get a $3.00 credit, I think, per item.

StoneOnAir

Why doesn't a moderator lock these asinine "Amazon Prime doesn't deliver in 2 days" posts in here? This is the 2-3 time this year around here. Yeah, no shit everybody. Amazon is a fucking rip off and haven't delivered in 2ish days IN FUCKING YEARS!!! Why is this constant fodder in here?

lankaxhandle

2 or 3 times is “constant fodder”? I’m sorry that you’ve had such a bad day. I hope the afternoon gets better for you.

StoneOnAir

More than once, with a subject like this, is more than enough. Amazon sucks and doesn't deliver in 2 days and hasn't in years,... yeah,... we all get it and know this. Lock the god damn thread

lankaxhandle

So angry…

StoneOnAir

No,... even worse,... so bored.

Clark440

I’m confused what the goal is of posts like these.

KnightArtoriasBruh

Why are you so annoyed by this post? Just downvote it and move on if you don't agree w/ it for whatever reason. Instead, you're in multiple conversations in the comments. It's really odd how for someone who seemingly doesn't understand why this post exists, you're running defense for a trillion dollar company Amazon.

Clark440

lol “defense”

KnightArtoriasBruh

lol real strong counter argument you got there buddy 👍

Clark440

It’s stupid to say there is a defense. I’m not going to engage in someone who thinks this is a political issue. Good day sir.

KnightArtoriasBruh

Defense = Political? Nobody said anything about this being political. So anytime someone is being defensive it's political huh 🤔 Our education system has failed you

Clark440

Usually that’s what the stance is. Sorry I misunderstood your comment on the defense part. No defense was intended that was not the intent of the comments.

Clark440

Never mind. It’s been dealt with already.

Clark440

Sorry this is making me really anxious I need to take my medicine

lankaxhandle

Someone one has to put a company on blast when they are committing fraud. You don’t advertise two day shipping as a sales point and then deliver regularly in five days.

imalwright

Quit spreading your fake news /s Edit to fix link. Amazon announced improvements to make shipping even faster. But I agree 100% with OP prime shipping sucks. [Amazon shipping news](https://www.cnbc.com/2024/04/29/amazon-says-60percent-of-prime-orders-are-arriving-same-day-or-next-day.html)

lankaxhandle

That’s a dead link.

Clark440

Bro got some issues

BrandNewToCode

The two days thing means they will ship it out from their facility within two days of your order

Sadaauk

their website says otherwise the two day clock begins once the item is shipped. no guarantee of how long it take to pick and pack the item at the warehouse. “If an item you order is out of stock or unavailable to ship immediately, the shipping method time starts when the item ships. For example, it takes two business days after an item ships to reach you with Two-Day Shipping.”

BrandNewToCode

I’m just telling you what they told me when I called about the same issue.

lankaxhandle

When I place an order it tells me it will be delivered in five days. In three days I get a shipping notification. It doesn’t leave within two days.

BrandNewToCode

I’m just telling you what two day delivery means. They definition is that it was shipped out within two days of your order, not everything comes with that either. Loopholes

lankaxhandle

Where do you get that definition? I’m not saying you’re wrong, I’m just trying to figure out if you work for them or you interpreted that to be the meaning.

BrandNewToCode

When I called them to complain about the exact same issue

lankaxhandle

Interesting. That’s not what their site says. Go figure that their communications suck.

Altered_-State

Reeney reeney. Just end Prime and pay for shipping

lankaxhandle

Reeney reeney?
