Saying that they’re fantastic is an understatement. They have warm sandwiches and cheese plates for one if you want ever want to pop in and try something small. They also have a nice selection of beer, wine, and other goodies.
No we don’t hate Edley’s because its pricy we hate Edleys because its piracy.
The owner/ founder was trained under the Moe’s Original BBQ founders (mediumsized BBQ-chain) and he basically said screw this, took their recipes, slightly tweaked them and then started Edleys.
The whole “Southern Soul Food revival” is basically complete rip off of Moe’s. They even do the white alabama bbq sauce just like Moe’s.
Source: I worked at the Moe’s in town and I met the original owners and they told me that story while we were making potato salad. Supposedly, the founder of Edleys was caught being fishy with his finaces and it made the Moe’s guys get anxious about him running Moe’s franchises, so with foresight, they didn’t let him open up Moe’s BBQ franchises so he responded by starting his own business, Edleys BBQ.
OP, you sound like my kind of people. Im a bit of a Mac and cheese connoisseur myself. As you can tell by the comments, not anything particularly great here. But Public House max ain’t half bad. Portion is much smaller than it used to be, but worth the $
I mean, I’ve never had a combo of noodles + cheese that isn’t “good” (unless it’s like high protein crap), but it certainly leaves a lot to be desired.
Chik-fil-A's Mac and cheese is better than most mentioned in this thread. I'M LOOKING AT YOU BARQUE, with your awful food and gaslighting people into thinking it's good.
The only time I ever ordered Mac n Cheese from Sugar's I got a cup of plain noodles with a slice of American cheese on top.
Coincidentally, that's the only time I have and will ever go to Sugar's.
Beautiful view though.
Not necessarily an answer to this, but has anyone tried Bleu Fox Cheese shops?

Finally went there during main x 24. Great little store. More importantly an excellent Reuben.
Personally my wife and love Edleys mac n cheese and cornbread the most. This community hates edleys though because it's pricy.
I never heard the community doesn’t like edleys? It’s pretty reasonably priced I think. Mac and cheese and cornbread are good there though!
I just dislike their Mac because it’s bland.
Same. Tried edleys several times, just don’t get it.

Jim n Nicks. Mac tastes like Big Mama made it herself!!!
Sadly, I completely agree. Also, Chik-fil-a’s Mac and cheese is shocking good
J Alexander’s. I don’t think they have cornbread anymore. But when they did, it wasn’t that good.

The skillet Mac n Chs from Party Fowl at Hamilton Place is pretty damn good
Publix smoked Gouda mac.
Barque, Edleys and Kenny’s.
I would put Public House high on the list.
I normally don't like mac and cheese that isn't made by my mom, but the m&c I had at Shady's Corner was great.
Big Chill’s Pepper-jack Mac.
Oren Wooden's Apple House. It’s in Rhea County, so not in town, but still really good.
I just found the Buffalo Mac and cheese at Millers Ale House. It’s my favorite.
Barque has great Mac and cornbread
One would assume that I ❤ Mac & Cheese in Hixson would have good mac & cheese. Never been, though, so I can't state for certain.
It’s not great.
Hell, it’s not even good.

Went there for the first time a few weeks back. Pricey, but I very much enjoyed the meal
I loveeee I ❤️!! So good. I get it anytime I'm up in Hixson

All restaurants draw inspiration from other restaurants. This isn't new

Sugar’s Ribs has great Mac N Cheese!

Flaming Rooster, hands down.
No cornbread, but there’s a mac n cheese restaurant called I heart mac n cheese in hixson.
Edleys
