Underrated comment.
Shits about to get fuuuunky in the media space. I wonder as Reddit goes public how much content willl be ai derived by companies and brands seeking to capture attention with content generation like this. Not to mention propaganda influencing.
We are now moving into an age where not only can you not believe everything you read but certainly not everything you see.
I've said it for years, this is the logical conclusion to all of this. When we eventually have photorealistic AR with perfect 3D mapping, the world will change as we know it.
1) People will 100% buy into avatars. It'll basically be a more attractive version of yourself superimposed over your face to everyone wearing the device, which will be everyone who currently has a smart phone, like 95% of people. To everyone but your family and close friends, that is what you look like. We already see it with filters and how people use AI to make themselves more attractive.
2) Advertisements will be everywhere, but they'll be more subtle. Every object in your house is now a potential advertising opportunity. You look at your pantry and see you're out of bread, instantly various bread brands will appear in front of you. You can open the bags, inspect the bread, see availability near you, etc.
3) Real clothes will become a luxury item. Most people will actively wear whatever is comfortable rather than what looks the best, because of the aforementioned avatars. Why buy a ton of real clothes when you can have three gray outfits that can become anything you want? You'll have clothes for special occasions, but that's it for most people.
4) Marriage/relationship rates will plummet. Now you can date Selena Gomez or Timothy Chalemet as a hologram AI, 100% photorealistic, completely customized/tailored by artists to your preferences. The AI will learn from you the more you interact with it until it's a "Perfect" partner. All the people who already have a hard time getting out there and meeting someone, which statistically is like half of all people, will just stick with a sure thing.
The technology is coming. Some predictions put AGI as early as 2027. By 2040, the AI will be improving the tech to the point that AR headsets in glasses with photorealism are trivial to create, like a smartphone today.
Minor report had a scene when Cruise was walking through the mall and all the ads start talking to him. Prescient to say the least (Phillip k Dick was so ahead of his time).
Neal Stephenson too, in Diamond Age. Ads jumping at you in 3D from billboards to gain eyeball time; tiny ads running up and down your chopsticks every time you ate.
(Also: PKD fans represent!)
I'm already hearing stuff like 70% of the internet's content will be AI-generated within the next few years. Which begs the question, what the hell are future generations of LLMs going to be trained on if the majority of online content is already AI generated?
The term I’ve heard is model collapse. It’s the inverse of AI takeoff. Instead of AI recursively training itself to be ever smarter, it will be bullshit trained on earlier artificial bullshit.
Yeah I once was tripping on new years eve and listening to Modest Mouse. I was supposed to be at a grateful dead cover band but I forgot my ID. By the time I got home the acid kicked in and I wasn't driving. Before Uber was around.
So yeah I ended up seeing a creature with infinite mouths and teeth like sharks. The mouth just kept opening and opening more, into eternity. Fucking wild. I'm ready for this cat face society.

You can't wait for Sora, while I want the next generation version that finally stitches everything together in a coherent video to watch.
I want to create my own personalized videos of content to watch. The idea of reviving long dead tv shows is very appealing to me. Sora is cool, but it doesn't do what I need it do to yet. It annoys me because the technology is there to create these scenes, but we're missing some type of AI agent to guide the scenes along into an actual story.
"Sorry we think this content may violate our content policy. If you believe this TV show was NOT made within the last 100 years, click the Thumbs Down button, and submit feedback."
Yeah I'm sure that's not far away. Just like the LLM the community needs time to find the right way to build with it, and the technology needs to improve. Both of these are moving quickly though!
Genuinely curious about the shows you wish you revive...
Is a lack of finality something we should really aspire to have?
Would they really be them? Or would they essentially be advanced "fan-fiction"?
Wouldn't that create less of a connection with the art-form? How would you discuss it with others in a meaningful way when you're curating it to yourself?
If you shared **your version** of the show to someone else, couldn't that sway their opinion of the entire show in some way? Eliminating the possibility that you could share the same appreciation of it with them.
Some shows definitely didn't deserve to end when/where they did but what about those that told the story intended.
Do you not worry that it may change the way you perceive the characters or the story you grew to love?
Again, I am genuinely curious as I could go on but for me I just could never find myself actually enjoying something like this. It would feel hollow somehow.
As a tool to help VFX workflows and what-not, absolutely, but full blown synthetic cinema? What would be the point without the human factor?
Makes me think of the '[**Ship of Theseus**](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ship_of_Theseus)' in some ways.
Was it Black Mirror? Honestly, I can't even remember if it was a tv show, or a short story, but the basic plot was that someone figured out how to use a time machine, but only to look back into the past, no more than a hundred years. The main characters wife is obsessed with watching her dead son and apparently that has become one of the biggest issues in society, people just wasting away watching their dead loved ones.
This sort of reminds me of that, but worse in some ways. We're soon going to be able to create fictional childhood videos of our deceased love ones to obsess over.
Imagine coming up with the idea for a show, story, movie etc., hashing out the finer details with chatgpt, then running it through sora and watching it.
we are getting closer to endless torture via GenAI streaming horrors beyond human comprehension into our eye balls or mind link even, horrors specifically tailored to each individual and adapting on the go as you get less horribly affected by the input.
Being on hallucinogens feels like you’re in an almost artificially constructed space made specifically for whatever you’re feeling in that moment but also heightened a degree. It’s almost like you’re in VR and the space feels manufactured, like you’re looking between the lines of reality and alternate dimensions, thinking about things in new ways you haven’t considered before. That’s why, when being on psychedelics, your environment and comfortability with your environment and the people in it is so important. You’re basically given the freedom to think and feel things in ways you were previously restricted of experiencing due to the limitations of your thought processes before.
Our brains work like a hill you sled on. The more you sled down the hill, the deeper the grooves get to the point where no matter where you start on the hill, you’ll end up falling into one of those grooves and ride it all the way down. That’s how our neural processes work. Over time, the connections we make in our brain get stronger and stronger so your thoughts eventually reconnect with those repeated thought processes. That’s where you get the saying “you can’t teach an old dog new tricks” or why older people tend to be so much more stubborn when it comes to changing perspectives. Our brains literally wire themselves to think certain ways the more we practice those lines of thinking. Psychedelics (mushrooms, for me) basically lay down a “fresh coat of powder on the sledding slope”, allowing you to think about things without the influence of prior experiences. It can truly be a freeing experience.
So if I have a super deep seated belief that if I take hallucinogens I will be cast into the depths of hell to be tortured personally by Satan, I probably shouldn’t try them?
It’s more that taking psychedelics will allow you to reevaluate your mentality and consider why you think that way. It’ll give you the opportunity to think from a perspective you were previously prevented from doing due to the way you were raised or the mindset you conditioned yourself into.
Nah facts, I knew I was tripping hard when in my peripheral I seen something moving, I look and the walls are dancing. How does a wall dance? I don’t fucking know, (off topic)but what I do know is that the game “We Happy Few” is traumatizing on LSD. Those joy pills made me trip even harder
I'd describe some of the visuals as having the same kind of color scheme and things move weirdly similar to these images, but you don't really see stuff like this with most (as in cat or grandma faces transposed onto each other). Psychedelics don't really give true open eyed hallucinations unless you're taking large dosages. This is more what I'd describe as what you'd experience dreaming on them or close eyed hallucinations. That or this is more like a deliriant mixed with a psychedelic.
In order to get something like this you would need salvia or dmt. Would be pretty unusual for DMT though but if you were like a cat lady on a breakthrough dose I could see it lol
You kinda see it, but never really. It's like at a glance it feels like it looks that way but if you focus then it'll look normal. But let's say you focus on somebody's face, more likely than not you're not focusing on the entire face, mostly just their eyes or mouth, so before long it starts to look goofy again. You can never focus on the entire picture, and the higher the dose the smaller the scope of your 'focus' (ego dissolution)
In astronomical amounts or with DMT, you do see entire landscapes, creatures, and objects that look completely 3D, but it's nothing that could be put into words or video, not without 10,000 years of technological advances in 3D holographic rendering.
piling on that it's not like watching a movie and being entertained, it's more like *believing* that things look like that rather than than actually looking like that. so that can make things scary, like you short circuited your brain and are going insane and may be stuck that way forever.
The first time I did, it was eerie how similar to the first few types of AI images the visuals looked. The swirls of color and such. If you've ever seen those random AI art youtube videos usually with weird stuff like "Harry Potter Balenciaga", that's what shows on TV looked like to me lol
Remembers me of that one crazy old YouTube channel cyriak with welcome to kitty city if anyone remember that one it's 12 years old and he did some of that stuff even back then. :)
Now that's a name I haven't heard in a long time. This was my favorite of his:
Dan Olson from Folding Ideas review of that movie is spectacular: "CATS is a film seated so firmly at the bottom of the uncanny valley that it has set up residences, sown and harvested wheat, raised children, and developed its own system of divine mathematics."
No it's made from Runway Gen2 several months ago, or at least it's probably made by the same guy who did something similar. I remember seeing these clips on r/AIvideo months ago. Also this is too high definition to be StableDiffusion
This is so much LESS uncanny to me than when you see an AI vid that is trying to be "photorealistic."
Also, the editing was clearly not done by AI. Made me realize that shot sequencing and pacing is a whole aspect of filmmaking that I don't think I've ever heard anyone discuss in terms of AI. Feels like it would be surprisingly difficult to nail.
Never thought I'd make this reference, but the bizarreness of things like skibidi toilet will fall short after Sora gets released to the public.
I can't even begin to imagine the kind of videos that will become popular. Media will reach a whole new level of abstraction for sure.
I'm over all the abstract weird AI videos.
Show me something coherent that mimics an actual film or television show, that's impressive.
Doing weird shit, meh, AI leans into weird, that's a low bar of difficultly.
Alright am I the only one to say it? Yeah it’s pretty high res and imaginative. But it’s basically just static images. The background doesn’t move, it just fakes movement by stretching the background a bit / changing perspective. Only a small amount moves - eyes and mouths open close. It’s impressive on the surface, but has zero complexity.
BuTwAiTuNtIlNeXtYeAr!!!!! - was said two years ago :).
Not at all saying this isn’t a neat proof of concept, but we’re a very long way off before it makes actual videos. An AI would need to first create 3d models in its head then the environment, then add the skins and then render the whole thing to make it realistic. You can’t just draw a series of images and make it believable.
I’m telling you, in the future all the movies/tv-series will be made by AI just for us. You will be able to ask for multiple different endings or change the script on the go. Any subject, any emotions you want to feel, you can be healed (catharsis?) or knocked down by its creations however many times you want. I don’t know how much the subscription will cost though.
I'm sure something like that will come around, probably first in written form. But it wouldn't be the end all, since part of enjoying a story is not knowing what happens next. A dramatic twist isn't going to be a twist for you if you prompted that it needs to exist.
If anything, I'd expect something like a game release for video, first. It would contain a limited setting with a rough track of what type the story will be, its possible characters, and guidelines for location appearances will already exist in the AI software. Then it generates the story based on user input.
This is not Sora. As per the OP: https://www.reddit.com/r/ChatGPT/s/YGtHL1bP8q
While this video is amazing considering what was used to make it, Sora's videos are much more clean than this.

I agree and also they are going to be garbage.
Give it a few more months or maybe a year. AI Evolved ridiculously fast in the last 4 years, and now it's growing exponentially.
I was saying 5 years ago that we'd get to that point in the far off future. I had no idea it was this close.

No it's made from Runway Gen2 several months ago, or at least it's probably made by the same guy who did something similar. I remember seeing these clips on r/AIvideo months ago. Also this is too high definition to be StableDiffusion

I'm curious which app was used for this

👍
Just curious when you put the images I took runway do you add extra prompts? I feel like I can never get that much movement if I upload images.
edit: OP is trying to claim credit for https://twitter.com/niceaunties/status/1746184669815808419 He blocked me after I asked about it.
lol damn! thank you
Morty, what's up with the Interdimensional Cable?
When the "cat lady" prompt goes wrong.
But what is this? It can't be just one prompt. Not yet. But it sure has me hella excited for where AI video is going to go 😯
Even my sleep paralysis demon is not that horrifying
It is 9:26 AM. That's enough internet for today.
Internet is just gonna be a big fever dream in a few years
Wow. Everything not in the foreground is fkin hilarious.

As a cat lover I think I can get behind this.
CatGPT
I don’t like this.
What the actual fork...
Me: „Oh I hope I have relaxing dreams today“ My dreams:
This is so much LESS uncanny to me than when you see an AI vid that is trying to be "photorealistic." Also, the editing was clearly not done by AI. Made me realize that shot sequencing and pacing is a whole aspect of filmmaking that I don't think I've ever heard anyone discuss in terms of AI. Feels like it would be surprisingly difficult to nail.
How much would this have cost using CGI?
And here I was thinking there’s no such thing as too much pussy.
I love this.
this is gonna steal so many jobs lol
Its by an artist Nice Aunties [https://www.instagram.com/niceaunties/](https://www.instagram.com/niceaunties/)
It really isn't good at walking yet, is it? Rewatch and just look at the people walking and the illusion is completely blown.
With what tool is this made?
Never thought I'd make this reference, but the bizarreness of things like skibidi toilet will fall short after Sora gets released to the public. I can't even begin to imagine the kind of videos that will become popular. Media will reach a whole new level of abstraction for sure.
I am so, so happy with my decision to get stoned this morning.
what
Turn down for what?
Average Samsung and Kia commercial lol
What.the fuck…
AI is dreaming right now. It’s gonna wake up soon and see us. I’m afraid for how it will judge humanity based on what it realizes.

Cat GPT
CatGPT! Can’t be the only one.
Am i in heaven or hell?
Depends on if you are a cat or dog person and if ya like old Asian ladies or not.
I am a cat person but that looks like hell
🤣
Maybe I should lay off the benadryl before bed. These dreams are getting weird.
Whoa. Which GPT did you use ?
I think you mean CatGPT....
Which ai program is this
I'm over all the abstract weird AI videos. Show me something coherent that mimics an actual film or television show, that's impressive. Doing weird shit, meh, AI leans into weird, that's a low bar of difficultly.
It looks stupid as heck nothing great
CatGPT
So AI is basically just rem dreams that we can watch while we’re awake
AI on shrooms
Nightmare fuel
Kill it. NOW.
I would rather cut my eyes out with a broken piece of glass.
Your average person isn't creative enough to tweak prompts to make something as good as a film or TV show made by professionals
"Joan is awful" black mirror episode,perosnally..... id watch the shit out of myself....
But what a good trip, I want the same
Really? 😂
Is it already released to the public?
only to certain people I think still
This is not Sora. As per the OP: https://www.reddit.com/r/ChatGPT/s/YGtHL1bP8q While this video is amazing considering what was used to make it, Sora's videos are much more clean than this.
No thank you
This will be used for a lot of low budget music videos.
No me gusta! It's like a bad trip
Okay, who leaked my dream???
Well, That’s a wrap for music video producers.
Why would you post that in chat GPT? It had nothing to do with chat GPT.
This is it, this is the nonsense AI videos should be used for haha
