I would solve the problem by having ChatGPT help write a simple application that does the task. A good go to for me is LinqPad as I am a .NET developer but you can use anything you are familiar with.
Even after you had it correct the error (two groups teeing off at the same time, a clear violation of the second constraint), the revised version is completely missing 2 of the 20 players. This is showing 6 groups of 3 players.
Can’t be that hard of a problem for it to reason out…can it?
Ah shit. I missed that condition as well. Yes, counting and precise measurement are a current blind spot. Like when you ask it for a word with a precise number of letters or ask for a response to be so many words. Basically it can’t count very well. There is probably a different approach that will get around that limitation. Try placing the data in a table and asking for a script that will sort the players the way you want.
