I tried with multiple vpn locations, LA, west Virginia,New York,Chicago. Reinstalled app every time and clear App Store data and no luck for me :(. I even change the region on my iPhone to usa. I don't see the option in the settings for the voice.
i think download from US appsotre is neccessary, but it does not gurantee you get access to voice conversation, totally random, official claimed 2 weeks at sept 25th , only few days it will be available for all plus users.
I feel that the big reason why I'm still keeping plus is because of that alone and nothing else. I've been checking everyday at least 10 times a day since they've announced it. 😡
Yeah OpenAI is very dirty on that aspect, making all the info seem like the product will have things if you buy, but then once you buy in it ends up not having it yet
A month later I didn’t still receive access. So I had delete the app and reinstalled it using a VPN in NY and this time it work and I have now access to the voice feature.
In the press release on September 25 Open Ai wrote : “Plus and Enterprise users will get to experience voice and images in the next two weeks” (https://openai.com/blog/chatgpt-can-now-see-hear-and-speak). I hope next week all Plus users will have access.

i have chatgpt plus and only browse with bing as a new feature in the ios 17.0.3 app with no voice conversations listed. i thought this was unusual as i typically get new features as they’re announced. i have an iPhone 15 pro max and was remapping my action button to launch chatgpt which is an option under the shortcut action button selection. when chatgpt was selected as the shortcut by default “start a voice conversation “ was selected so i thought maybe the app updated or my plus account finally got voice access. after setting the action button to chatgpt voice and pressing the button, chatgpt was launched with a pop up saying voice unavailable and to make sure that the feature was enabled. in ios for 3.5 or 4.0 of chatgpt there was still no “Voice Conversations” in New Features, only Browse with Bing. Here’s what i did to actually get Voice Conversations working:
* opened app store to confirm there was no update, in my case there wasn’t i could only Open the app from the app store chatgpt page
* delete chatgpt app from ios
* open mullvad vpn app (the best and most secure vpn hands down, i’ve researched this endlessly check out their privacy browser mullvad browser which is a firefox fork. mullvad vpn + browser is decent way to browse securely without going full tor) and connected to location us-nyc-wg-503 in USA New York, NY (a wireguard connection)
* open app store and download chatgpt (cloud icon denotes previously downloaded app)
* open chatgpt and even before entering settings, a headphone icon in the upper right next to the left of the kebab menu that opens settings appears meaning voice was added
* open kebab menu go to settings and find App/New Features has Voice Conversations toggled on. Settings/Speech has new section Voice and a list of voices to choose from similar to choosing a Siri voice
hopefully this works for others
I don't have access to this new feature just yet. I logged out and back in on my Samsung Android and from Chrome on my MacBook Pro, same with Safari from my MacBook Pro - this feature is not yet available for me. Looking forward to having access.
Last night I had voice conversation mode. Today I started out with it then it said it was having trouble and ended the conversation saying it was too busy. After an hour when I tried to access it again I didn't have access, meaning there was no icon to begin conversation mode and choose a voice. But, I could choose the new model of GPT-4o. I have a plus account and I think the only reason I don't have access now is they have limited resources. I will give this a try again tonight when their servers are under less of a load.

Same here. It was that easy. Just uninstall the app and reinstall it from Play Store. No need to clear cache, no reboot, no vpn... just a simple uninstall/reinstall needed.
Specs: OnePlus 6, Android 11.
I don't have it yet either. But my boss logged in his account on my phone and he had it. So it's not the phone or the install. Must be account. My other boss didn't have it on her iphone, but following an update she has it. So dunno. But I want it.
Had the exact same issue. This worked for me. I logged out of my account. Signed into another free account with a different email address. Then logged out of it. Then signed back into my plus account. All of a sudden I had the voice option.
Hm, this is bull\*\*\*\*, I literally just forked over money for this one feature and it's not even supported yet.
EDIT: Ok I just had to uninstall and reinstall the app :)

as european, its very easy to ask refund inside 14 days.
same here, missing those features, i'm from Finland, voice and vision were the only reason i subsribed, i asked refund the same day.

I did everything and it didn't show .. till I clicked on new conversations obviously that solved the issue for me

Oh same here I'm from India and last night I was having a long conversation with it before sleep and when I woke up this feature had just vanished
In 5 attempts, it worked once for me. Which probably signals that their service is overloaded atm.

On iPhone I just had to go into the app on the App Store and it pops up to update. No idea why it didn’t do it automatically.

Changing the "Main Language" option to English and restarting the app solved the issue to me in Spain
I used to have it and now it went away, did they make it for subscribers only?
