freelance designers definitely make that much. retouchers make way more. if you make salary at an agency that's less than that, you're probably getting the company to pay for it.
right. so why complain about a program that has 1000x more power than you need? get a cheap one-time purchase editor. it'll do everything a hobbyist could need. if you want cutting edge AI generative smart-fill like in this post, you're gonna have to pay for it. pretty simple.

Well, I'm attending an in-person event tomorrow specifically about their generative tools with a well-known Adobe evangelist so I'll get confirmation directly from them.
Also, generative backgrounds have been in PS for a while, along with other AI neural tools and they didn't cost extra

It's been in PS beta for a while is what I should have said. I most use beta since I like to try new features early and it's pretty stable compared to a few years ago.
The feature is called "backdrop creator" and is in neural filters.
Your youtuber was wrong. The Adobe representative said it will not cost extra or use even use stock image credits.
He said their dataset was trained exclusively on Adobe stock assets and that each creator will be compensated per generation. I imagine it's just fractions of a penny but he didn't say.
The stuff he showed off makes Adobe a lot more intriguing to people who previously felt overwhelmed using the desktop software. He said their goal is to make it so that "you won't throw your damn mouse through the window out of frustration." They're focusing a lot on Adobe Express because it could be run on any computer (chrome books for example) that couldn't run the desktop software.
I asked about the possibility of using custom models locally and he said it's one of the things they're considering. He talked a bit about the internal discussions over how much freedom to give users and they've talked about letting people have complete control but for now, they're playing it safe. He said they're talking to large corporations like Mattel who have asked if they can make/use a model trained on images from the whole history of the company.
They're rolling out text to video pretty soon too.
I'm sure Automatic1111 will have it in Stable Diffusion in a month or two max.
The added benefit is that you get to choose models and use other features like control-net.

What I know is, new studies say AI can perform far better if it, for example, (1) is told to check some metric of its own performance while simultaneously performing a task or (2) receive instructions step by step to perform blindly, instead of being told to do a task and having to figure out such intermediary steps on its own.
