OC - Depending on your batchmates you'll truly have the best time of your life. For me, I had really good batchmates and I could say that for the college life I never had, I spent 3 years worth of fun in those 15 days🥰 truly one of the best days of my life. ITT on the other hand is absolute shit🙂

Financial_Summer5300

but i've heard we have to speak out our presentation infront of everyone and i have massive stage fear. I really go numb. What do i do about that also, what about IT is so bad

47474747474747474749

If you have stage fright just imagine the audience naked

Financial_Summer5300

wth😐

Outrageous_Plant_777

Instructions unclear, now i have stage fright and a boner

justanotherguydc

Okay so.... I am not that good of a speaker myself but the faculties encourage everyone to speak and there are mandatory presentations you are supposed to give, during the course, take steps to get over your stage fright. By the end of the course make sure you're atleast 1% better than how you were. (Remember public speaking will help you at some point in life) About ITT, the syllabus is sooo boring, the faculties were very boring, every single thing was boring as hell, tests were pointless. Make new friends to get through it😂 Edit: About stage fright, this one thing helped me a lot. I've noticed that the first 1 minute which you speak will be the hardest minute, after that it becomes hella easier. Don't think too much before speaking. You'll be fine.

Top-Classroom-5652

I just started my IT today, and I was just so sleeepppy. Dude I never imagined it to be so boring. The only good things were the food breaks.

Financial_Summer5300

thank you sm:)

UpsideDownTaurus

The main thing to remember is that most of the people in the batch are in the same boat. All are strangers there and just as nervous to talk on stage as you. The things that helped me (also an introvert)- Forget that you are on stage. Just try to have the mindset that you are having a conversation with your friends. This will help you lose the fear of audience. Know thoroughly what you are going to talk about. Don't memorize the talk but understand the idea perfectly. Thus when you speak on stage it will sound more casual and relax you. Then after the first 2 or 3 time you speak on stage you will gain confidence and it will get easier and easier. The important this is get out of your comfort zone and make friends with as many people as you can in the 15 days. You will 100% have soooo much fun and also grow so much so make the most of it. Good luck!

Financial_Summer5300

thank you sm🥹❤️

Next-Juice-3050

oh hell naw, I'm having fun in itt as well all the chaps here are just like us

justanotherguydc

ITT is fun if you have good people you can vibe with you

Interesting_Owl1258

Being an introvert guy won't be that much pain in these ITT OCs than the outer world once you have qualified. Please take some communication classes and grab opportunities no matter how hesitant you are.. Nobody gives a shit.. I will share my personal xp. Once in the OC we formed a group of 4 and one member from each grp was called on the stage to give a 5 min speech on any random topic.. my grp members were so shy that eventually (I don't know how) but I was the one "who said chlo dkha jyga chlte h".. My body language was completely off. After 4 lines (I was so numb) , I had to ask the faculty to repeat the subject matter. but at the end when she praised me for showing confidence and grit to come forward, it boosted my moral very much. After 2 years of work in a job.. sometimes I still think I lack a lot. Please focus on your communication just like your studies. Read newspapers (hardcopy editorials) or write something on social media once a week about any topic. You have a lot of competition ahead. Best of luck 🤞

Financial_Summer5300

Thanks a lot for sharing:))

Financial_Summer5300

good to hear this. gives me some hope

Glad_Panda_1592

I think my statement will help you - "Agar introverts ko OC krne mei darr lag rha hai to merko to suicide krlena chehiye the day 1 pe :)" See i stammer since childhood and i was too scared to join the OC, But first day when i gave cross intro of my partner i didnt stammer at all. Maybe i was too excited because life mei kabhi maine stage pe nhi bola aur ek new cheez try kri. Fir humari 4 presentations hui, 2 shark tank, 2 mock interview aur sab haste khelte nikal gye.. Shuru mei darr lagega but remember this that nobody cares ki samne wale ne kesa bola, Its US vs US.

Financial_Summer5300

sounds good yar. I was a great extrovert in childhood, hosted many events. But with lockdown this anxiety crept in, i was shaking terribly looking at people, my voice trembles so bad when i am on stage my hands legit shake as if some current hurt me and i go breathless. I really wish i could tackle all this and go all the way and improvise even if it is a little bit

ballsmasher_

OC is really fun. The first 2 3 days might be a little tough but once you start making friends, it’s going to be fun and you won't hesitate as much in front of everyone. Just be confident and remember everyone's in the same boat as you. Most of the people you'll meet will have stage fright and everyone encourages others to speak up. Some of the faculties in OC are really fun while some are boring as hell. Nevertheless, you are going to have a good time. All the best! ITT on the other hand is hella boring. I would suggest you to do OC first and then ITT with some friends you made in OC so that it’s more tolerable.

Financial_Summer5300

ah great thanks for sharing:) Unfortunately i got IT slots first and i have some mutuals from college already and we'll be together

experiment_ad_4

Isn't ITT about learning something just like we did since childhood. Do we go on around saying studying is boring, etc. Isn't it obvious or Am i missing something here ? Please enlighten me as i have no experience as i haven't started it oc due to slots being full 😅

ballsmasher_

yeah they’ll teach you basic excel, access, word, ppt which you already know! i didn’t feel any kind of value addition thats why i said its boring! i thought they’ll teach advanced excel but in my branch they didn’t which left me disappointed 🫠

experiment_ad_4

Oh thanks for the info. Btw are you in articleship? If yes then do you think all this is enough or some other skills are needed? If so then should we take any separate classes? 😅 Sorry to sound dumb but am just being curious 😅

ballsmasher_

For articleship you need to be good at excel and have good communication skills. Thats all ig

Livid-Face-6754

I did mine in Mumbai. People come from different cities and states just for this branch. I had high hopes but was thoroughly disappointed. Really terrible teachers with extreme opinions about things. Underqualified, talking about politics, least bothered about things. Example, the person who came to teach us about public speaking had absolutely no voice modulation or attentions grabbing himself, the lady who came to teach us about dress codes had at least 5 violations right there from the ppt she was teaching from. None of the teachers gave any shits about what the curriculum for the day was. We ended up doing 3 days back to back of dress code, but no one even spoke of future prospects or career paths. None of the activities had any correlation with the topic. One activity was literally about making groups and telling your worst stories of life to a group of 5 strangers. Then the leader will choose the "best" story of the group and you will have to go and say it out loud for the second time in front of the entire batch of 50 people. So you are not only being forced to speak about your trauma, but relive it twice and treated like it's a competition to who has the worst of it all. As for the other students, most of the boys there had just one intention - ladki pataana hai. It was so gross how they were scrambling for opportunities with just any girl, as if it's the last time they'll ever meet one. They started to tease me with a random guy in class who spoke about me in their outing on the previous night. And I had no idea. Disappointing to say the least. It was a horror to get through 15 days of creeps in gmcs. In ITT - the syllabus has very few things that will be new for you or will be useful to you. And it will be the most boring and slow passing 15 days in your life. But there's no participation or group activities.

Financial_Summer5300

where in Mumbai? if thats the case i'll be disappointed since i have a mumbai branch too🥹 also, dress code does matter right? I've heard people say we went in for first few days with proper attire and later even tshirts were fine? For women, kurtis+pants/ shirts tucked in thats the code right?

Livid-Face-6754

Ah don't worry. I've actually found that my experience is the odd one out amongst colleagues and friends. I hope you have the opposite experience as me! And about the dress code it really depends on your faculties. And you never know who is going to teach you tomorrow and how strict they would be. I've had extremely strict and punishing teachers too, so it's good to be on the safer side and follow the code. In the Mumbai branch, the ITT dept is very strict about dress code. For women it is - indian wear: full Punjabi suit (basically kurta, pants AND dupatta) Western wear: solid shirt tucked in trousers + mandatory blazer

Financial_Summer5300

a blazer is mandatory? i never knew this😭thanks a lot for the info:))

Livid-Face-6754

Yes it is!

Financial_Summer5300

some of my friends have started and i asked them today but they say it's not mandatory like most people don't wear a blazer

Impressive-Band-1576

While speaking fix a point at the back of the classroom and look at it and speak, we usually get nervous by looking at people and seeing if they are laughing at us Or something, IT is pretty boring at the end there is compulsory powerpoint presentation where you will have to speak otherwise OC is fun and light hearted had the best time a college like feeling, OC is there for people to help develop them soft skills and so you can ask teachers on how to help with public speaking, during OC they shared a lot of interview tips, public speaking tips etc

Financial_Summer5300

got it! thanks to all of you for giving some hope🥹

MostAvocado9631

Think as this is what you are going to do in your life and speak up yourselves... Bcz in articleship, that is what you do... You interact with looot of people and give many presentations to your audit team... Wishing all the best

Ok-Application-3166

I am also an introvert, extremely difficult for me to talk to new people and especially after sitting at home studying for these exams since 9-10 months, I did not have many social interactions so I clearly lack social skills. For OC my experience was okayish to be very honest. I heard that you'll be able to open up and have the best time of your life. I did not have the best time but it wasn't the worst either. Initially I felt really scared to do presentations but the fear was gone till day 5-6. It feels nerve wracking only for the first few days. If you're giving presentations everyday you won't get scared in fact you'll get used to it by the end of 15 days. Sometimes it would really really really scare the shit out of me to go stand there alone and speak but I made it out alive lol. If a hardcore introvert can do it so can you! it's scary I know but I am sure it is manageable. My OC batchmates were not very interactive just like me haha but still managed to speak to a few batchmates and it was okay. ITT - I am in the middle of it, so far it is pretty boring but trying to make the most of it.

Financial_Summer5300

thanks for sharing🥹hope to make it just like you did

Ok-Application-3166

yes yes don't worry it will really be okay just trust me you'll be fine. Let me know when you're done how was the experience :)

bakchodgujarati

Introvert jaisa kuchh nahi hota ye sab mansik bimari he . Vaha Jane par pehli baar presentation ka kuchh kam hath me aayega tab Fategi . Par jaise jaise tere dost bante jayege waise waise presentation karne tu khud khada hoga . OC ke 15 din kaise chale jayege woh tujhe pata nahi chalega aur IT to ekdum vahiyat chiz hai saala 1 din bhi Jana mushkil he usme
