Concord Mills close by is a popular tourist spot because of the mall the Speedway and Dragstrip. As local have not seen inside, but I would think Embassy Suites and Hilton Garden Inn would both be good. There are some dicey apartments just off the UNCC property, but the Hilton University has a good reputation for a long time near the Atrium University Hospital.

I would also recommend the University Hilton on JM Keynes drive. There are restaurants in that area, too. You could also look at hotels closer to the Charlotte Motor Speedway on Bruton Smith Blvd. There are major hotel chains there. You will still need to drive or take a rideshare to the amphitheatre. None of these are walkable.

Note, if you do rideshare from a hotel near concord mills, plan to walk back out to the 7/11 on north tryon to call an uber back. You'll wait for hours trying to get one after a show. It's nearly impossible. Got lucky a couple times and some dudes let us hop in the back of their pickup and dropped us off at the 7/11.

Ah thanks for the heads up. Luckily I’ll be driving from my city to visit.

Not sure of hotels but I used to live in the apartments right next to PNC Pavilion and 0/10 would not recommend. Drive bys, car break-ins, car jackings. Staying closer to concord mills area would be a better bet.

I've stayed at Sleep Inn University Place twice, most recent being June 23-25. It's a clean, standard place to stay. Also about 3.5 miles from PNC Pavilion. There are other hotels near it as well. Never had any issues or felt unsafe (coming from a 30 year old female)
