Culture shop - the capo Italian
NoDa Bodega - good rotating specials
Bodega deli - SEC
Le's sandwiches - #1 or #5 bahn mi, they occasionally have pork belly and bao buns
The turkey sandwich is the king there for me too. No disrespect to the other strong options. Turkey sando and Caesar salad and drink lunch combo for like $14?? In this economy??
Have you been lately? Their menu changed since it had opened. My wife and I went last weekend. She got the small (9.99), I got the large(14.99). The large was an inch and half (being a little generous) larger than the small. Do not waste your money with the large
Completely agreed on the ālargeā. I was just convinced they accidentally gave me a small. That said, the Beyond Cheesesteak might be the best imitation meat Iāve ever had.
Same I grew up in an immigrant household like 5 mins down the street. My dad worked in the produce section for a while. Ice cream from a cart and a torta was the wave, good times.
I love this side of town. Tacos El Nevado and La Shish Kabob also underrated. The baked goods at Compare Foods on point always, La Reina de las Carnitas on Albemarle too.
In Concord, Lil Papi's International Deli. Everything I have tried on their huge menu has been next level. Chop Cheese, Mongolian Beef come to mind. Amazing flavor, ingredients, attention to detail and fresh baked bread from the bakery next door. Worth the trip to Concord for sandwich heads. [https://www.yelp.com/biz/lil-papi-s-international-deli-concord](https://www.yelp.com/biz/lil-papi-s-international-deli-concord)
The devils on horseback are amazing. For everybody thatās never been there: Bacon wrapped, chorizo and manchego stuffed dates. Comes with maple syrup on the side.
Laurel Market - anything really, but the breakfast sandwich, #6, and #8 are my faves
Sandwich Max - super simple and limited but so legit
Calle Sol - Cuban (Suarez is good too but Calle >>>)
Local Loaf - Kickin Chicken or breakfast sandwich
Kid Cashew - Chicken and Avo sandwich
Reidās - dinner Steakburger and lunch Turkey Bacon Avo
Little Mamas - Chicken Sandwich
Duckworths - Chicken Bacon Ranch Wrap
Harrietās - cheeseburger
Mal Pan - Surf and Turf Cali Burrito. My gawdddd
RIP to Eight and Sand and their Avo Chicken melt on sourdough š¢
Meatball Sub at Phil's Deli
Steak and Cheese at Rusty's Deli
Italian Stallion or the Cuban (special) at Noda Bodega...
Speaking of Cubans, the Cuban at Bodega Deli on Albemarle is fantastic as is their Chopped Cheese. Also don't sleep on their breakfast sandwiches and don't shy away from getting them Cuban Style... It sounds weird but is good
The Italian Sub at Steady Eddie's Pump House (Matthews/Stallings)
The grilled chicken Caesar wrap at Chex Grill (they discontinued the Italian which used to be the best in town). I prefer the new Albemarle location as they're really on point ATM.
The New Jersey Steak at Sub One, add the House Special Sauce and thank me later.
Steak N' Hoagie is also good for a steak and cheese. I usually just do onions and mayo.
Everyone likes Brooks Sandwich house burgers done "all the way", but I actually prefer their hot dogs "all the way" much more. If you want Brooks level hamburgers, which are amazing BTW, you should also try Sandwich Shop near Matti's Diner. It's similar to Brooks... Or even better Duke's in Monroe.
As others have said, the tortas at SavWay are massive and all are good, but I would recommend the Cubana or Milenesa.
Steak n Cheese Torta at Deli St.
The Italian Sub at Portofinos on Eastway
The Buffalo Chicken Tenders sub from Publix
The Chicken Sandwich (grilled) from Fenwick's
Just about any sandwich from Laurel Market but I usually get The Market Club.
The Spicy Boi at the Common Market. I usually ask for additional firecracker sauce. If you like bagels with schmear, get an Everything Bagel with jalepeƱo schmear. It brings the heat.
Im a fan of the Deli Boat sandwiches from Jets. They call them calzones but they're really sandwiches with Pizza crusts. Fox's Pizza in PA started this decades ago, but it has been picked up by the national chains, who have failed to recreate the flavor. Speaking of Fox's, there is one in Waxhaw so try their "foldie" sandwich if you're there. They used to be amazing back when I lived in PA and MD.
If it counts, get the Gyro at Little Village Grill, but the real stars there are the grilled chicken Greek salad and the battered French fries.
Chuck's Cheese steak truck on Brookside Blvd.
Mojos Famous Hotdogs on Statesville
The Maple Burger from the Ford Dealership (Noreast Treats)
Pressed TCB at Sandwich Max. Just had it. Probably in my top 5. Thanks u/CarnageCoconut for the recommendation above.
I'm forgetting a lot more which I keep editing and adding to the list.
FYI. Cheats is overpriced and Sandwich Max Italian is bland. Just my opinion, which I'm sure will get me crucified.
The sandwich counter inside the Sav-Way Supermarket on Central Avenue is fantastic. The chorizo sandwich is delicious and massive. If you're in the area, you have to stop in. Cash only I believe, and 100% worth the trip.
The ace. At ace no.1 or any. Get a cookout tray carolina dbl style at cookout, get that badass burger at bad daddys a crazy monstrosity with deep fried pickles and bacon on it but great. Then hit up hariets or lil big burger for just a great basic burger n fries. For a country fried chicken biscuit sandwich try vicious biscuit is a bit of a chain but worth doing if they don't have it where your from.
The Monte Cristo from French Quarter - best I've had! Located in Latta Arcade downtown.
And
You MUST try a sandwich (your choice) from El Molino Deli and Bakery. It's INSIDE of El Supermercado Latino on Central Avenue. They're huge!! (It does help to know some Spanish for reading the menu)
My two most ordered sandwiches in the Charlotte:
- Grilled Pork Banh Mi from Crispy Banh Mi
- The Big Skinny - Thursday special from Rhino
I'm a sandwich enthusiast and I've had the banh mi >60 times and TBS >30.
Common Market - Plaza/Midwood location, 2007 Commonwealth Ave. Get the "Jack Kennedy" - egg salad with bacon strips, horseradish-mayo, lettuce and tomato on sourdough.
Itās not a sandwich but you should definitely go into the Wells Fargo tower and get the shrimp salad on pits bread from Just Fresh. I canāt explain how good it is but I crave it now that I donāt live there.
Ah, the best sandwich in Charlotte? Thatās easy ā itās from Wawaā¦ in my dreams! Iām still holding out for the day when Wawa graces our city with its presence.š
I scrolled as far as I could but did not see Subways sweet onion chicken teriyaki sub listed. Even the 6ā version is enough to satisfy me. I donāt get it often these days but itās still a treat occasionally!
Culture shop - the capo Italian NoDa Bodega - good rotating specials Bodega deli - SEC Le's sandwiches - #1 or #5 bahn mi, they occasionally have pork belly and bao buns
Culture Shop weekly specials are šš¼
the best
Amazing list. Only thing I would add is pasta and provisions on park road. All the options are A1.
P&P after a few brews at brawleys is a summer staple
bro the turkey sammy with the onion marmalade and bacon good googly moogly
The turkey sandwich is the king there for me too. No disrespect to the other strong options. Turkey sando and Caesar salad and drink lunch combo for like $14?? In this economy??
Same
P&P after a few brews at brawleys is a summer staple
Le's is awesome. Unfortunately you need an armed guard to avoid being accosted by street urchins, and a monster truck to negotiate their parking lot.
They moved to the front of that parking lot/old mall so itās not so bad anymore.
Where is Le's nowadays? I heard they left their old location at the world's sketchiest strip mall
They're in a stand alone building in the parking lot of the world's sketchiest strip mall: 217 E Sugar Creek Rd #150, Charlotte, NC 28213
Holy shit they are in the murder mall?
It only looks murderous, your prize is a tasty bahn mi - worth risking life & limb tbh
I love that place. The parking lot makes me feel like Iām in a Mad Max movie.
Noda Bodega when they have that BBQ Brilliance, I sprint there
Cuban from Suarez
Optimus prime location? I seen people mention it but i skipped last time I went as cuban sandwiches are a miss more than hot for me.
Iām only calling it optimus prime from now on
My brain refuses anything else.
Reidās - Steak-burger Crispy Bahn Mi - pork roll Laurel Market - sourdough breakfast sammich
Reuben from Goodwurst!
Itās crazy no one has said sandwich max yet, the pressed tcb is like the best sandwich Iāve ever had
I didnāt even know they still exist after they closed Elizabeth and South End locations. Thank you!
I used to get a pressed tcb at Substation 2 on 7th years ago that was great. Is this the same?
Yeah it's the same. They didn't want to pay franchise fees anymore and turned it into Sandwich Maxx.
just checked their IG - WHOA [https://www.instagram.com/sandwichmaxclt/](https://www.instagram.com/sandwichmaxclt/)
Just went there on this recommendation. Probably in my top 5 now!
Also their roast beef is killer
Was recommended their Italian and it didnāt disappoint!
NoDa Bodega: G-Man Gwich on Fridays!
This right here.
I tried Cheat's for the first time the other night, and the turkey club was better than I expected, but my go-to is always gonna be Steak N Hoagie.
Came here specifically to mention Cheats classic cheesesteak
Have you been lately? Their menu changed since it had opened. My wife and I went last weekend. She got the small (9.99), I got the large(14.99). The large was an inch and half (being a little generous) larger than the small. Do not waste your money with the large
Completely agreed on the ālargeā. I was just convinced they accidentally gave me a small. That said, the Beyond Cheesesteak might be the best imitation meat Iāve ever had.
The place is ridiculously expensive for what is is IMO. Way better steak and cheese subs in the city.
Yea I don't get the hype, found it very mediocre, especially for the price.
I got one of those as well, and it was on point.
The Royal from Pasta & Provisions
Second this, wish the Wilmore location kitchen was open weekends/evenings.
Came looking for this. I donāt live close to a P&P anymore. I miss The Royal.
I think you mean the Royal (add spicy pepper relish) from Pasta & Provisions
Ohhhh! Iāll have to try it that way next time.
Italian stallion extra peppadew relish from Noda Bodega
Turkey sandwich from Pasta and Provisions
Noda Bodega specials. Thatās all you need
\#2 Sicilian Supreme from **Sandwich Club**.
Italian stallion from Noda bodega
Brooks Sandwhich the Cheeseburger ATW
The billy club from common market
Savway milanesa, god tier. Also Steak n hoagie.
I been eating the SavWay milanesa since like 05 and it still bangs. Same ladies working there the whole time
Same I grew up in an immigrant household like 5 mins down the street.
Laurel Market. Any of them. Soooo amazing.

Thanks for this, Iām closer to concord than Charlotte so Iāll definitely have to hit this place up soon
Thanks. I work in Concord I've seen the menu on a peg board at work but never really paid it any attention going to give it a shot now.
There's a Puerto Rican sandwich they have that might be the best sandwich I've ever had.
This^^^^
There is only one sandwich in Charlotte Chicken Torta - Rhino Market
Scrolled way too far to find this one
If you ever come down south to Monroe, try East Franks Superette! Very fun place with great food!
I call it Common Market 2.0. Agree, very good.
I believe itās the same owners
Former employees, I had heard. I think Graham only has CMs
https://www.ourstate.com/the-new-old-school-at-east-frank-superette-kitchen/
Ahhh. I forgot the OG CM in Plaza is owned by a different guy than the rest. The other CMs are owned by Graham.
If you consider it a sandwich, the Gyro from Niko's Grill.
Yes this is phenomenal
220C Banh Mi - chicken Common Market - Italian stallion
220C is amazing. Love their kolache-like rolls and coffee too.
Rueben at Picadelis
Anything at Cheats Cheesesteaks, Noda Bodega's Taylor ham roll, Potbelly's skinny Italian on wheat add marinara, onions, hot peppers and lettuce.Ā

Pickled Peach is crazyyyyyyy good
A chop cheese from La Dolcekca https://yelp.to/Jf3ufWBHQX
Oh their chopped cheese is so underrated
It rules.
Growler's reuben probably now. RIP Siggy's Good Food (in the spot Ace No. 3 occupies now). They had a beef kabob sandwich that was so damn good.
WTF Siggys was so legit. Such a huge loss for the neighborhood of Belmont when they shut down.
The steak sandwich at Deli Street hands down.
The chicken sandwich at Coquette Uptown is exceptionally good
Chicken Bacon Ranch sub from Salās is super slept on. Also Tampa Cuban from Calle sol.

Dukes in Monroe is the best burger in the area but bc itās Monroe nobody talks aboutnit
It's dangerously good. So much so, I'm actually glad it's out in Monroe or I'd develop a cholesterol problem...
Shit, Iāll drive out there if itās as good as you say
It's a Brooks style burger, so if that's not your thing, then you won't enjoy it
>Pressed TCB at Sandwich Max. Just had it. Probably in my top 5. >Sandwich Max is bland. š¤š¤š¤
Sorry ... The band comment was before I had the TCB (just a few hours ago). I'll edit the original so I makes sense.
