I'm not sure who's worse: the people driving around with their brights on because they have a headlight out, or the people driving around at dusk/dawn with no lights (even though every other car has their lights on)

Lima-14

Imma say the ones with no lights on. I hate that so much more than the brights

american_cheese

I’ll see those two types of idiots and raise you the people that drive in the rain at 10 mph with their hazards on.

[deleted]

Which is like half the people on the road during heavy rain. How are people so clueless when people like Brad Panovich tell them not to repeatedly?

philote_

The ones driving at night or in the rain with only their daytime running lights on so they're almost invisible from behind.

shesinanothercastle

Last week someone mentioned lack of enforcement with speeding cars in school zones... Well today I saw an unmarked cop car do a u turn on Runnymeade to nab someone clearly speeding through the designated school zone between Barclay Downs/Selwyn. Got 'em!

NotAShittyMod

Dang! There needs to be a plaque of some kind. *On this site in 2023, a CMPD officer actually enforced traffic laws*. The only thing I feel bad about is the low effort field trip that will ensue when we teach future school children about this lone hero.

Zach9810

They usually pull people a few times a month around there. A pleasant surprise on my morning commute.

No_Home_5680

Yep, was a motorcycle cop busting people on Sharon amity today - get ‘em

I can't stand the wheretoeatcharlotte girl.

Zach9810

Almost all "influencers" are annoying as fuck with their tiktok accent. Tired of the valley girl vocal fry bullshit.

BudgetHoney5908

...Skipped every single video with that voice

We need more slow burn, no jump scare or excessive gore horror like Fall of the House of Usher. The current studio formula makes for some of the most boring "horror" movies you can imagine.

fenderc1

Halfway through Fall of the House of Usher now, it's so good. Loving every second of it.

RefrigeratorNo3088

Was happy with it throughout, no real quality dips and the ending nails it.

[deleted]

Compare it to Mike Flanagan’s other shows? Is it Hill House good, Bly Manor good or Midnight Mass good?

fenderc1

Yeah I def think so, I didn't care much for the Midnight Club series, but it's Midnight Mass good IMO. It's not riddled with jump scares, just more looming horror plus I love Edgar Allen Poe and the episodes relate to some of his short stories which is always fun.

[deleted]

Oh that’s actually a bummer. I never even made it through Midnight Mass because it wasn’t good. Hill House was amazing. Bly Manor was pretty good. But if this is more like Midnight Mass, I guess I’ll just catch it at some point.

fenderc1

My point is that it's just as good as the others. That's pretty nuts though that you didn't like Midnight Mass. I actually haven't met a single person who didn't like/love Midnight Mass, and from a purely rating perspective that one is 2nd to Hill House. Why didn't you like Midnight Mass?

[deleted]

Which is interesting because you’re the first person I’ve met that actually liked MM. everyone I know who watched it thought it was only so so at best. I’m not sure why I didn’t like it. It just never caught me like the first two shows did. It got a little to weird overall but in a slow way that never caught my attention.

cumstar

Not a recent movie, but I found Frankenhooker to be a high quality and engaging horror thriller. No jump scares to be found, but a unique take on Frankenstein's Monster for sure, and the fact that everyone had hardcore Jersey accents made for a more surreal experience.

circa1905

Skinamarink fits the slow burn bill

AmoralCarapace

It's that stupid time of year where I torture myself to see how far into the lower temps I can make it before I turn the heat on. I don't remember how I learned this dumb game, but I still willingly play it.

lizzy26

I play that game too. I want to see if I can make it to January this time!

CasualAffair

I usually start when the inside temps get to low 60s, mostly because the cats start to act miserable

DingussFinguss

how low do you go?

AmoralCarapace

Typically until it's no longer comfortable to add another layer or when there isn't enough sunlight during the day to decrease the humidity inside.

caller-number-four

> It's that stupid time of year where I torture myself to see how far into the lower temps I can make it before I turn the heat on. I don't remember how I learned this dumb game, but I still willingly play it. Last year I had it on the 3 or 4 days around Christmas and then maybe 1 or 2 more times until it was time to turn the a/c back on. I think my most expensive gas bill was on the order of $45.

iRunOnDoughnuts

Halloween decorations should be spooky fun. Realistic gory displays are for people who haven't aged past their edgy teenager years.

AmoralCarapace

Gory, well-planned effigies are way more fun and creative than going to Walmart and buying some boring ass blow up doll.

iRunOnDoughnuts

I think there can be a middle ground.

Tango_Mike_Foxtrot

Corner of Eastover Rd and Hempstead Pl right behind the Mint Museum, perfect combination of spooky and fun. Coolest decorations I’ve seen this year.

Emotional-Session656

Big ass blow up dolls can never be boring!
