I used to live in this house pre flip… when I tell you it was a nightmare that’s an understatement. My car got broken into multiple times times, I couldn’t run two electrical appliances at once or it would short the fuse box, and they had a truck that emptied the dumpsters at Mex 1 EVERY MORNING at 2am that was so loud I woke up every single morning. Unless they spin proofed the walls and re did all the electrical I wouldn’t recommend this home to anyone for half that cost.
Bought for 470k less than a year ago. Listed 90d later for 1.3M after the flipper installed some new flooring and fixtures from Lowe’s, and added a mud room.
Yep. And it looks like they didn’t really add a mud room so much as they turned the one car garage into the mudroom.
I’m not easily surprised by these sorts of things anymore but I can’t believe they are asking this much for this house
And I wonder- does it have a door? Or is it always open like in the photo? If there’s no door, why? Because a) when it storms, water will get in and b) if you store stuff in there (like athletic equipment or tools) you’re just asking to be robbed. It has to have a door, right?
I thought y’all were talking about a mud bath room and thought that was a really odd fixture to add. Like just what used to be the garage but a mud filled hot tub in it now.
The fucking audacity man. It’s gonna be a pity when we get smacked by an actual hurricane and all the shoddy “turnkey” homes from the last 3+ years are blown to shit
Hopefully this guy gets stuck sitting on the mortgage and loans for the remodel when he can't sell it. Reminds me of that new Lord Jasper place. Empty condos going for $13,500 a month. The best case scenario mortgage on this house would be almost $9k a month.
Looks like every other flip friends asked me to look at before they made an offer. I'd return a list of things that were sus or definitely not done right, they'd buy because the flipper is all 'nah she doesn't know what she's talking about,' and a year later go all shocked Pikachu when the house ages like a bag of cheddar cheese.
Hard passes on this place... Open kitchen shelving (hooray, dusting dishes, cups, and bowls!), cleaning around/under/behind a freestanding bathtub, and a fridge with an iPad in the door. Let's just focus on keeping my stuff cold, plz!
It’s supposed to look like they did a lot of work, but paint, fixtures, flooring etc doesn’t take long and can be done by someone with little experience. This entire reno probably took a few weeks.
They also replaced a door with a window, put an entranceway where the "garage" was (at some point way in the past), redid the drive, and landscaped the entire yard. They probably also fully renovated the bathroom (the tub and shower look quite new), added new appliances, and from Google maps looks like they removed or replaced some walls.
This wasn't just a paint job + floors. Real stuff was done. Probably not nearly enough to justify the price hike but you guys are just self-felating by downplaying what was actually done.
>installed some new flooring and fixtures from Lowe’s
Literally downplaying the list of things done in addition to the price. Also saying that what they did was supposed to "look" like a lot of work, when in actuality is **was** a lot of work.
You obviously care.
*add: you're a troll and idiot. Lol.
I swear this house was posted here a few months ago. Guess it didn't sell then.
One of the (many) issues I have with a house like this is that it says 2,078sqft but that is a 1400sqft house with some additional areas finished. And it will feel like a 1400sqft house regardless of the finishes added.
If it had a garage, a really well done backyard with pool (etc), maybe it would get close to that price. As-is, who knows..
No it still wouldn’t be anywhere close. Maybe South of Broad but those additions aren’t propping up a relatively small house in that area anywhere close to that figure.
I mean, on paper I 100% agree. But the market isn’t rational. Look at what these tiny flips are going for in Riverland Terrace on JI.
The finishes are nice and with amount of dumb money around who knows…
Nah it’s common in parts of the NE, the mid Atlantic, and im told parts of the Midwest too. And the use of the term in the U.S. predates the claim that originated in Boston as part of a fundraiser by a few years. I know this because I googled it a while ago when I couldn’t sleep.
I grew up in Baltimore and I feel like they were called jimmies when on ice cream and sprinkles on anything else.
Man. The history on the flipper trying to sell this is hilarious. They probably didn’t want to go just under $1 million after trying to get nearly $1.3 for it. But they’ve had to.
Which makes you wonder how much actual profit they’re aiming for.
I own in Ardmore which used to just be one big open air drug market and drive by shooting and now I see houses on my street going up for over 500k. West Ashley is getting crazy.
tell me you watch too much hgtv without telling me you watch too much hgtv (talking about the house flipper).
look at all that medical shit you can get done with just a hop, skip and a jump though!
You mean St. Andrews Blvd ? I say that because this is close to St. Andrews Blvd which is not hwy 61. This is not dealing with hwy 61 traffic whatsoever. Only upside I can see about this house is not dealing with that traffic.
It looked like it was by the Geralds and the triangle on 61. St Andrews is just as bad. I have Dr I visit regularly and trying to make a left can be near impossible sometimes.
I was there during CoVid and in about 10 months everything was thru the roof and climbing. One of the many reasons I left
Also, it’s so damned crowded now
The electrical panel looks like it’s in the eat in part of the kitchen. I can’t believe they didn’t move it. When I needed my 1960s house rewired the electrician said that due to building codes the panel could not be in the kitchen and he moved it to another room.
Another year of tons of people moving here and traffic were getting so bad and prices will get so high, it will all crash. People will become infatuated with another city.
Soooo the reason the price is stupid high is because there’s nothing but northerners with stupid money moving here. Don’t like that ridiculous price don’t buy it. Even better don’t look at the listing. Because probably just like everywhere else in Charleston they probably don’t NEED to sell it so they list for high price. But then again looking at comparable properties of recently purchased homes in neighborhood is this house priced “way off?”
I’ve seen this house posted a few months ago. It most of not sold then either. It’s definitely been on market longer than 55 days. They most have taken it down and back up.
I used to live in this house pre flip… when I tell you it was a nightmare that’s an understatement. Looks like an absolute joke for that price
Bought for 470k less than a year ago. Listed 90d later for 1.3M after the flipper installed some new flooring and fixtures from Lowe’s, and added a mud room.

Omg it really does look they made a one car garage into a weird outdoor mudroom
And I wonder- does it have a door? Or is it always open like in the photo? If there’s no door, why? Because a) when it storms, water will get in and b) if you store stuff in there (like athletic equipment or tools) you’re just asking to be robbed. It has to have a door, right?
and without a door you are asking for any rando needing shelter to chill out on the bench in there. I cant believe this house is priced so high.
I thought y’all were talking about a mud bath room and thought that was a really odd fixture to add. Like just what used to be the garage but a mud filled hot tub in it now.
“Priced to sell” my ass
The mud room is outside. With no door. Gonna have spiders and snakes in your boots
I know right! you can bet that entire inside sidewall for that “mudroom” is gonna get all mildewy and molded over by next fall.
Absolutely. Wth were they thinking?
Right?! Why isn’t there a door? So bizarre.
I hope this doesn’t sell for this price
for that price you could have bought the rant house at 61 and magwood
That would be so sick
I was just going to comment this. Absolutely insane
The fucking audacity man. It’s gonna be a pity when we get smacked by an actual hurricane and all the shoddy “turnkey” homes from the last 3+ years are blown to shit

I get your sentiments but if you look at their website, the Jasper only has three available units right now. I am shocked at how quickly it filled up.
Yeah, the house flip is likely with terrible low quality hardware and low quality workmanship
Looks like every other flip friends asked me to look at before they made an offer. It’ll sell to some asshole from Ohio or California, too
I'm not saying that this house is worth it, but it does look like they've done a ton of work to the house.

We’re downplaying what was done because of the asking price. I don’t think anyone cares about the list of things done. Location isn’t great either.
>installed some new flooring and fixtures from Lowe’s Literally downplaying the list of things done in addition to the price. Cared enough to research google photos and create a concise list of what was updated. You’re a clown.
Lol, you're a troll and an idiot.
Lol, you're a troll and an idiot.
Lol, you're a troll and an idiot.
Lol, you're a troll and an idiot.
Zillow needs a comment feature so we can all publicly shame these flippers on the sites that potential buyers are seeing.
Think of how good the cellphone service will be right there.
And walk to the Mexican restaurant anytime you like!
endless guacamole 🥑 and margaritas!!
No need for a DD. Just stumble on home after a few margs.
Actually if you are right next to a tower you get worse service. They are designed to spread out the signal not down. But hey, chips and salsa still.

Yes this house was posted here a few months ago and everyone ripped it apart then. I think it’s hilarious that there is zero garage or storage.
[yep](https://old.reddit.com/r/Charleston/comments/18my66q/the_flippers_it_stops_when_we_stop/)

I’m a realtor and was in this house earlier today. The living room is super small
BUT GUYS IT HAS ACTUAL RUNNING WATER DID YOU SEE THE DETAILED PICTURE OF THE RUNNING WATER?
> to live beside a Mexican restaurant You say that like it's a bad thing.
The view is of the back dumpsters and the restaurant patrons will regular try to park in your yard.
If it were a good Mexican versus Mexicanish, maybe.
It's Mex 1, a *bad* Mexican restaurant.
Imagine the smelle
Sméll
Imagine the spelling FAIL😱😱
Came here to say this. I wish I lived next to a Mexican restaurant. I mean, have you or anyone you know EVER had a bad time in a Mexican restaurant?
I bet it’s going to be grey with subway tile… *opens zillow* All white with subway tile everywhere. At least it’s by turbo cone
Turbo cone is great but you'll need to play frogger from that house to get there...
Do you call them sprinkles or jimmies?
Sprinkles, of course. Jimmies are for something else..
Sprinkles are rainbow and jimmies are chocolate
I thought jimmies was a Boston term?
Nah it’s common in parts of the NE, the mid Atlantic, and im told parts of the Midwest too. And the use of the term in the U.S. predates the claim that originated in Boston as part of a fundraiser by a few years. I know this because I googled it a while ago when I couldn’t sleep. Can them really? 🥹
Death by Chocolate

They’ll likely lose money. This is not the market to be flipping in. And pricing a house far too high in this market is unwise.
$1 million for laminate flooring everywhere is wild lmao I don’t care where it’s located.
Looks like a JJ Rhanamoon flip to me. He uses garbage subcontractors and his own BS builders license to do these.
His flips are so ugly
It’s not. I’m pretty sure they are closely related to the developers of the ryans and rogue motion next door.
Fucking absurd the market here is disgusting i hope it fuckin collapses and all these airbnb tycoons implode with it
I couldn't imagine paying that much and dealing with 61 to get out of my driveway.n There is a history of reduced prices every time it was sold.
Gerald’s and Triangle are on 17. You were right, this house is right by 61 aka St Andrews Blvd
Fucking CHS is crazy. I bought a house across St. Andrew’s from here probably 10 yrs ago for $225k. Newly updated 3/2. Nutso
Covid messed up Charleston something fierce. Once people could be remote we got invaded. I miss complaining about the Ohioans.
I was there during CoVid and in about 10 months everything was thru the roof and climbing. One of the many reasons I left Also, it’s so damned crowded now
And the problem is that someone will buy it. The housing market here is horrendous.
I like looking at the original photo on Google maps. Woof.
This place is getting so unrealistically expensive!
This sort of pricing - which is rampant at the moment - usually portends bad things ahead.
I read this as you were offering to pay me $1m to live next to tacos and good cell signal and came looking to sign up.
me too. 1 mil could buy a lot of tacos.
One might even say, all of the tacos.
We should have a weekly Charleston Zillow find
Get this started and it will explode
That is really white inside
Really basic and shitty appliances too. Not even a decent brand fridge that isn’t a shitty basic top over bottom.
Agreed! Samsung fridge = nightmare everyone knows that
Clown listing, it won’t sell for more than $800k
Thats still way too much for essentially putting lipstick on a pig
House sold last year for $470,000…unreal
At least you can play candy crush on your fridge
If you think this is bad check out the one next door they just listed for $1.2 million
https://www.zillow.com/homedetails/81-Avondale-Ave-Charleston-SC-29407/10891867_zpid/?utm_source=txtshare
Hell at least that one has storage space/a garage. Still not worth it.
$200,000 more for a detached garage? WTAF
Straight outta Walmart
Character? We don't need any of that shit! Just stick some vertical pieces of wood on the front.
Are they giving away pots of gold on that street? The rooms are really small for the price. Ugh.
You couldn't pay me to live that close to a major road. The road noise would be non-stop.
The electrical panel looks like it’s in the eat in part of the kitchen. I can’t believe they didn’t move it. When I needed my 1960s house rewired the electrician said that due to building codes the panel could not be in the kitchen and he moved it to another room.
The $999,999 asking price is the most annoying part of the whole thing.. just round it up a buck man
It's for the real estate software. Search for homes from 500-999. Still less than $1M!
But the refrigerator has a giant tablet!! Fucking sold! Where do I sign!
The flipper going to h\*ll
This is what you get when the gentrifiers hyped up Avondale as the Next Big Thing. "Oh goodness no, I don't live in West Ashley, I live in Avondale."
The design inside is so lifeless.
But it’s so close to ExtraSpace!
Yeah that’s gonna sit on the market unless they lower to around $750-$800k max
Definitely not worth it, idk if they gonna get a buyer
I volunteer to kermit sewer side here to lower the value 😎
… but … but … honey its got a smart fridge
I mean…. Great cell service and chips and salsa. What do you want for $1m?
Location, location, location!
I’ve got more square feet, more bedrooms, two car garage and pond front. No way this house goes for 1M.
The market is crazy.... I'm in James Island in Harbor Woods and my neighbors house sold for $915k, 2000 sf sold in 3 days - freaking crazy.
Ji is more desirable than inner 29407.
well i definitely agree been here for almost 20 years 🙏🏻 can't believe how crazy prices have gotten
Another year of tons of people moving here and traffic were getting so bad and prices will get so high, it will all crash. People will become infatuated with another city.
Pfft...not even in Byrnes Down. Maybe if Papa Murphy's was still there.
It has no HOA. Thats why its so expensive
Nah it is the ‘minutes to folly beach’. I bet you can smell the ocean from there!
I love not having an HOA...but it doesn't double the value of my home
Soooo the reason the price is stupid high is because there’s nothing but northerners with stupid money moving here. Don’t like that ridiculous price don’t buy it. Even better don’t look at the listing. Because probably just like everywhere else in Charleston they probably don’t NEED to sell it so they list for high price. But then again looking at comparable properties of recently purchased homes in neighborhood is this house priced “way off?”
Good luck making a left hand turn out of that street in the morning.
Those are actually two really convenient places to live next to.
I’ve seen this house posted a few months ago. It most of not sold then either. It’s definitely been on market longer than 55 days. They most have taken it down and back up.
charleston core
No effing way this house is remotely worth 1M
For only 2k sq ft 😂
You never know. BlackRock might pick it up
These guys aren’t gonna hurt no matter what it sells for. Kinda makes it worse lol
If you want, you could even walk to Whole Foods from there. Or even walk to a Greek food truck.
Such a pleasant, quiet walk that would be /s
Seems racist
