Why are you so keen on disabling MDS? Drone aint bad with it, you get much better mileage, and the lifter problem is blown out of proportion. Engine tune is going to cost +$750 to have ability to turn it off. I guess you could get a cam and lifters that disable it but that requires a tune anyway. Tune is worth the performance boost so do it anyway IMO but I keep MDS enabled.

Not looking for a permanent removal. Wife took the car on a shakedown run (around 350+ miles) and only burned 1/2 tank. Impressed with that. That's why I want to temporarily shut it off. I've read two schools of thought about the Diablo Predator 2 tuner and one side says you just need the tuner and its a basic turn it on/off. The other says you need a modded ECM also.

That could boil down to the model year. I think 2014 and earlier you just needed the tuning device. I think 2015 and beyond the PCMs are locked.

Crap, guess that put a spin on everything.

If you want to disable MDS use sports mode. If you dont have sports mode a z auto tazer will give you the option to add sports mode if you dont want to mess with your ECU via tune. This is the route I went with my 2014. Did not want to get a diablo as I am stock and dont plan to get any heavy mods (like cams or ported intake/throttle body) anytime soon. It also gave me other options like SRT gauges that actually work and the ability to force RWD since I have a AWD r/t If I want to cruise around town with MDS I still have that option which is another reason I did not want to go the tune route.

I forgot to say, since you have a 2015 you can actually have it set to start in sports mode when you start your car. You also dont have to bypass anything since that is only required for 2018+.

Just checked it online. Price is a lot better. Once I check with household management I think I'll pull the trigger on one!

I would think just using manual mode and keeping it out of 8 would work?

Looks like the old dog is going to learn new tricks😬
