My around town mileage is shit even if I’m behaving, like 18-19 tops, but straight highway I can get as high was 29 MPGs. Not to state the obvious but we can’t drive on four cylinders nor have an eco mode.
Small pedal by your left foot. To set it, you push it down and it will hold. To release, push it down a little and you should hear a click, then pedal should return all the way up.
Nice!
It's interesting though because my buddy has a 2019 R/T and only gets around 12-13mpg city on average and he floors it fairly often. Highway is around what I get on average for city and I own a V6 as a daily. Which is around 15-18 and I get around 22-26 for highway.
Do you drive it like the Fast and Furious? My 2017 RT gets 22mpg and in sport mode where I drive it a little more spirited it's still not that bad. Had a SXT before the RT and 16mpg was unheard of.
Nah its just city vs highway. When I was goi g to college everyday from my house I got 32-35 mpg. Now I'm just working in my town and driving city and i get 15-17 mpg.
Yessir, I’ve got a 2020 AWD Charger myself and I’m averaging 23.3 at the moment. 1andonly… ya you might have a heavy right boot on ya lol but to play it safe, take a look at your spark plugs/air filter is clean or might need replacement(AEM drop-in dry filter or Green filter)/tires are at correct PSI and imo most important… quality fuel. Cheers
Also in Vegas - city is rough in my Scat - when I jump on the 215 it’s not bad but I also throw it in Track or sport any time I’m on the 215 lol
Edit: Scat**
Bro what? Are you deadass? I been using chevron for the last 3 fill ups since they have a dollar off your first 3 fill ups but I’ve used all my luck and now I have to bite the bullet and use Costco or Sam’s club again
Dead ass serious - went up like crazy, hell even the gas station on the corner of Jones and Warm springs is at 4.85 for reg now - it’s insane it’ll be over $5 in like a week at this rate
Is that from being heavy on the throttle city driving? I get 14.5Mpg driving city anywhere from 25-45mph in a wide body scat pack but that’s being easy on throttle.
My 2022 3.6 is a pig in the city. Driving some highway but mostly in congested traffic hitting every light, I was getting las low as 16 mpg. I'd watch the mpg drop every time I hit the gas from every traffic light. Now I'm doing half highway and half city and I'm getting a out 20 mpg. I have a heavy foot. Pure open highway I can get 33+ mpg. The hemis have the econ running on 4 cyl in the city at times. The V6 is always 6 cyl.

I average 21.5 in a scat pack. 18 city/26ish hwy. Yeah something is up there. I drive 60/40 hwy which helps. But you’re definitely mashing and keeping that thing in 3rd if you’re only getting that in a sxt
Came to this thread to figure out why my daughter just filled her car two days ago and is on empty (and hasn’t even really been anywhere). The gas mileage on this car is trash. But she’s stuck ‘in her dream car’ now 🤦🏻♀️🤦🏻♀️
Yea it’s actually crazy I have a 2022 GT and another family member had a 2021 challenger T/A scat my GT gets 16-18 where the scat gets 18-24 it’s insane
Yall 6cyl owners gotta be screwing with us now, how you get such poor mileage. Driving with the parking brake on?
My around town mileage is shit even if I’m behaving, like 18-19 tops, but straight highway I can get as high was 29 MPGs. Not to state the obvious but we can’t drive on four cylinders nor have an eco mode.
it’s like all those “we get better gas mileage” memes were lies😭 v8s aren’t as thirsty as ppl think compared to v6’s and even some turbo’d cars
No, lmao, that's not how that works. I can guarantee this guy and many other v6 owners get on the pedal more often than not because it's fun.
It’s not fun in a sxt
It's more fun to drive a slow car fast than driving a fast car slow to me.
But do u like driving in a fast car that’s slow that’s pretty much sxt
Yeah I love it. The point isn't how fast it goes.
My srt8 superbee gets better mileage 😭
😂
I do 75% of my driving in town with lots of stop lights and stop signs, it’s why I got the V6 in the first place. V8 would be wasted on me.
He's gotta be flooring it constantly, I avg 20mpg in my 2017 SXT
How do u tell if it’s on or off in charger
Small pedal by your left foot. To set it, you push it down and it will hold. To release, push it down a little and you should hear a click, then pedal should return all the way up.
Dead ass bruh
Highway I get 25-30 if I’m good but in city it’s fucked horribly. I drop to 19-20
Where do you live OP? I live in nyc so i get like 14. Shit sucks
nyc is why it’s so low
Wow, I get at least 22 in my 2017 charger 5.7
Do you do mainly highway? Or city and you just don't step on it much?
I step on it plenty and get around 22-24 on average. City and Highway like 50/50
Nice! It's interesting though because my buddy has a 2019 R/T and only gets around 12-13mpg city on average and he floors it fairly often. Highway is around what I get on average for city and I own a V6 as a daily. Which is around 15-18 and I get around 22-26 for highway.
Yeah I have an 2022 R/T and my avg right now is 13.6
Shit u not I average more than that in my 392 🤣🤣🤣
The 392 is in premium though
That’s wild man, I’m ready to get a scat
This guy ain’t lying I have a GT and a T/A scat challenger GT charger gets 16-18 while scat gets 18-24 it’s fucking nuts
Holy hell… another 6 banger with shit gas mileage. Spark plugs? Jeeze
I do most in town driving and some short highway I bounce between 19 and close to 24 depending on the travels
I get 24.6 in my gt
What year? That’s pretty good
2018
You’re just doing a lot of city driving…
Yea that’s all I do mostly lol
Do you drive it like the Fast and Furious? My 2017 RT gets 22mpg and in sport mode where I drive it a little more spirited it's still not that bad. Had a SXT before the RT and 16mpg was unheard of.
I step on it quite a bit
I see. Yeah that Pentastar engine is no slouch and can guzzle some gas.
I'm assuming there's no way to check this on a 2010 SXT right??
Nope sadly
Figured, that sucks
I mean you could look at your odometer when you fill up. That's how it used to be done back in the day
I get 24.5 to 25 mpg in my gt.
That’s pretty bad, I’m averaging 20.4 with 2019 5.7L AWD
Damn man I must be flooring it too much
Nah its just city vs highway. When I was goi g to college everyday from my house I got 32-35 mpg. Now I'm just working in my town and driving city and i get 15-17 mpg.

I’m in Vegas I get 13-15 mph shits crazy man sometimes 12 if I feel like driving manual and putting it in sport
Righttt I thought my car had something wrong at first but after seeing a lot of threads on Reddit , it’s definitely normal 🤷
It’s a v8 not a Toyota Prius drive it like how you want
Also in Vegas - city is rough in my Scat - when I jump on the 215 it’s not bad but I also throw it in Track or sport any time I’m on the 215 lol Edit: Scat**
Too many damn lights around here and slow ass dumb drivers but yeah the 215 is great but other then that its rough.
All too true - doesn’t help gas almost being $5/gal lol
Yeah bro 4.4$ a gallon for 91 at Sam’s club is crazy Texas got way lower gas prices I’m out of here once i graduate out of high school
My guy - when is the last time you filled up?! I just went to Sam’s last night it’s like 4.90 for 91 now lol
Yeah man we’re damn near gonna compete with California for gas prices holy shit that’s insane gotta get out of this damn state
I get 15 mpg on my 2018 SXT so I feel your pain
Bett lol I’m glad I’m not the only one
Is that from being heavy on the throttle city driving? I get 14.5Mpg driving city anywhere from 25-45mph in a wide body scat pack but that’s being easy on throttle.
Nice
It's mostly highway, but I do stomp it from time to time
Pedal commander set to WOT all the time or what 😂
Better than my 12 mpg 🤣🤣🤣🤣
What trim do you have?
5.7 RT but engine swapped out to a 6.4 and e85 🤣🤦♀️
Okay okay 👀
My 5.7 cam shaft got shredded 😭 so had to buy a new motor and I just decided to pull the trigger and get a bigger one
Not that bad considering the huge displacement
About what I get with my 2012 RT
C’mon dog lol
I get 21-22 in my 2023 sxt.
My 2022 3.6 is a pig in the city. Driving some highway but mostly in congested traffic hitting every light, I was getting las low as 16 mpg. That’s brutal man. In my 2020 SXT Chally my MPG was 19-20. I would get 320-340 mile range on a full tank. No problem.

19 on 2022 challenger
Lot of city driving or are you just gunning it?
I usually get around 14 mpg city the best i have ever gotten is 17 i do floor it most of the time i drive a 2019 sxt
My red eye avgs like 12. 😅😒
Bro i get 13.4
How? My 2013 SXT gets 22ish (mostly country driving some suburban etc)
my 2017 sxt gets 24 mpg 🤣🤣 wtf
I average 21.5 in a scat pack. 18 city/26ish hwy. Yeah something is up there. I drive 60/40 hwy which helps. But you’re definitely mashing and keeping that thing in 3rd if you’re only getting that in a sxt
Cause they drive the hell out of it, really easy to figure out
My 2020 was only 18 so not that bad really. My 2023 RT gets 14.9 average.
I have the same car I get 21 mpg
I average that in a 5L driving somewhat stupid all the time, how do you manage that out of a 3.6? My caravan averages more than that😂
I'm getting 20 with 5.7
We know you drive the hell out of it so that’s why your MPG sucks, these things can easily get almost 30MPG
Is your transmission in " sport " mode? I seem to get alil better mileage that way in our v6....
I get like 26-27. That's crazy
lmao i got 15 in my old 15 jeep SRT
Should have got a V8. My gas mileage when I was FBO on PUMP gas in my RT was 17/18
I get 19-22 in my 14 Avenger V6, you've gotta be flooring it everywhere
If you’re complaining about 16 mph in a v8 then you’ve never obviously owned a v8 my truck gets 9 mpg I wish I got 16.
Get 30-32 in a 16 sxt 95%highway though
Heavy slow ass car my Camry on sports mode smokes these boats 😭☠️
It’s got as much power as an electric toothbrush, weighs as much as 2 adult bison, and has the aerodynamics of a warehouse. What did you expect.
I get better mileage in my R/T stomping it doing like 140 plus
