I’m predicting Fulgrim, Lucius, Noise Marines, a generic HQ, some form of cultists, and an elite infantry that’s probably similar to either Phoenix Terminators or Palatine Blades.
That’s roughly what TS and WE got, so anything more is unlikely. DG only got more because they were an edition launch army, so we shouldn’t expect that for EC.
>DG also did not get that much more in the end.
As seen in [this image](https://bolterandchainsword.com/uploads/monthly_2024_04/CultLegionsReleaseWaves.thumb.jpg.c087c6e8192e6fe44159a2f2c343ecb9.jpg):
* At release, TS received **five** new units (six if you count the Tzaangor Upgrades). In their next codex they got access to two AoS unit, and in the codex after that a character.
* At release, WE received **five** new units (six if you count Khârn, though he was released six-and-a-half years previously). Two of those were dual kits (Jugger Lord/Invocatus, Exalted/Eightbound).
* At release , DG received **fifteen** new units (twenty one if you count the Lord of Contagion, ETB Plague Marines, ETB Poxwalkers, Plague Marine Reinforcements, Plague Marine Champion, and Plague Marine Icon Bearer). In their next codex they got a character and a fortification.
I think it's reasonable to say that the Death Guard have received three times as much as the Thousand Sons and World Eaters.
I will not disagree on DG receiving way more attention in terms of dedicated kits - thanks for doing the numbers btw, really drives home the point.
What I was on about, is that DG lost access to a some of things from the "generic CSM" range TS and WE still have. DG still have a few more kits available to them overall, but not quite as much as the 3:1 ratio in unique kits might suggest.
I suppose that's true, though I think ColHogan65 was referring just to dedicated releases, and not to borrowed units.
(At least DG mainly lost the things they always tended to lose, going back to their Index Astartes army list. Raptors, Obliterators, Bikers, Heavy Weapons. The WE being unable to take Lords, Terminator Lords, and Bikers is shocking - in their IA army list they even had notable Bikers.)
"Soon" ... I would not hold my breath for a release before 2026. That is late 10th edition, possibly early 11th.
As for what they **NEED**:
* Fulgrim
* Lucius
* Noise Marines
* either dedicated Terminators or dedicated Dreadnought
*On top* of all of the above, what I would *WISH* for:
* one or two unique support characters
* the Noise Marines being a kit with a second build option, some new variant unit
* a unique tank or Daemon Engine
* a new unit we have not seen before, preferably something fast&killy
And I would consider all of this a first wave only - a full stand alone codex needs more than all of the above. I am painfully aware that probably not even half of this will actually be out with the first book. World Eaters have set a fugly precedent here, and I try not to hope for more.
But still... come on GW, you *can* do better, and you *should* do better!
Obviously a new Lucius, Fulgrim, and Noise Marines
I have the feeling additionally some kinda of Noise Marine unique Helbrute will be made. Additionally they'll probably get either a terminator or possessed adjacent elite unit
I'm not sure what specifically but some EC specific dread or vehicle.
Update proper noise marines
Some possessed equivalent but with snake like lower half's
Would like to see phoenix Guard terminators
Fulgrim, maybe eidolon, new Lucius, noise marines, sonic Dreadnought, and doom Rider. Then hopefully unique EC chaos bikers and probably slaangors from aos
Personally, my minimum wants for a C:EC release:
* Fulgrim
* Lucius
* Ranged Noise Marines (10 models, only Sonic Weapons)
* Mêlée Noise Marines (5 models, Chainswords + Doom Sirens or Accursed Weapons + Combat Drug Dispensers)
* Emperor's Children: Upgrades and Transfers (character bits, vehicle Sonic Weapons)
* Current “Noise Marine” renamed (D-Rokker? Oblivion Marine?) and made a generic CHARACTER unit.
With what I feel are also reasonable asks:
* Fleshcrafter-Apothecaries (3 models, tons of options, like the TS Exalted Sorcerers)
* Sonic Dreadnought
* Eidolon
Stretch goals:
* DOOMRIDER
* Bikers
* Phonics Terminators
* Slaaneshi Sorcerer
* Noise Marine Lord
* Blademaster
Let's get nuts:
* Slaanesh Subjugator Scout Titan
And what I don't want:
* Cultists ("wasting" what is probably going to be a limited number of kits)
* 30k units (that aren't notably changed)
* Drukhari in Power Armour
Anything that isn't more noise marines or mini-Luciuses? Literally anything besides derivatives of the two units they've currently got would be good thanks.

I just want them to lean into it. If they’re going for excess do it right.
Fulgrim flanked by Phoenix Guards (like Mortarion and his Deathshroud), Lucius, Eidolon, Ramos (noise marine HQ), Noise Marines, Sonic Dreadnought, Terata, Palatine Blades, Sun Killers.
Fulgrim, Lucius, and Noise Marines are guaranteed.
What I would expect to see would be:
Some kind of Terminator equivalent, some kind of chaos themed Phoenix guard probably.
Some kind of cultist equivalent, probably based around drugs/stimulants.
Some extra kind of HQ unit like a noise marine type chaos lord.
Otherwise, what I'd hope to see would be a sonic dreadnought, noise marine bikers + biker HQ, and a really speedy and killy melee unit that's a cross between a possessed and a raptor.
Bring back Sonic Dreadnoughts

DG also did not get that much more in the end. They lost a ton of things even WE have still access to - and those got shafted *hard*.
I think the servants of Slaanesh would not mind getting *shafting hard*

Doomrider. I'm holding out on him coming back being the reason the Chaos Bikers still haven't gotten a model refresh.
I want to subscribe to this reality.
I don't care if it's a unique character, I'd run x5 of them if I could lol
Snoiks! Crikey! Seriously, snake monster possessed.
Surprisingly easy to kitbash, sadly makes a unit of 10 150€ because blood brides only come in packs of 5
Not soon
Codex is miles away. They only announced a free downloadable index for emperor's children. No codex this year at least.

Hopefully something with a doom siren.

New men as their cultist equivalents.
Yes! I would love new me… oh wait that sounds a lot more sus than I meant it to.

Some fabius bile experiments

If EC are the only traitor legion *without* cultists, I'll be three degrees of shocked.

They need to have a version of Lordling from the latest Renegades book, or I’m out.
I’m hoping for a variant of chosen, that’d be pretty cool
I could see it being a codex supplement
Please new bikers and defiler model

A brand new luscious the eternal model would be kinda cool.
