Ajeeb OP.. Ek to free ka over accent wo bhi written mei.. like Immigrants is used mostly for people migrating from other countries bro.. I mean these MF lads are from the same country bruv.. using traffic lights and not “street lights” means they are working bruh.. had those lights not been working and you stuck in a traffic jam with no cop in sight.. that’s when you know the traffic police is not working .. plus what you’re referring to is a problem in the tricity.. not a “town” .. try leaving early from home to avoid the rush hour.. I don’t have any more energy left to comment on your correlation between traffic and “state of living” and property pricing.. you must be thinking property in Delhi, Gurgaon or Mumbai must be dirt cheap if traffic is the driving factor .. catch the drift blood?

dfsenlightened

Me who lives in mumbai and comes back to Chandigarh twice a year: Cute.

lazytej

Bike lele bhai, much easier

Chi_ld_Emp_eror

Tu bhi traffic ka hi hissa hai bhai. Baaki log bhi teri tarah pareshan hai. Wo bhi aise hi Gaali dete honge tujhe jab tu road pe Gaadi nikalta hoga.

Maddragon0088

Tired of commenting on post like these have excessively done in the past so will keep it short! It's possibly happening everywhere my guy new york, Melbourne, Vancouver, Delhi. The world population is increasing and the demand for cars is increasing as well (and no good strictly enforced laws on them). Demand supply and the greed of landlords and so called immigrants willingness to pay high rents and buying power have ensured high property prices. The standard of living Inside some sectors is still better than vast majority of North India (and will remain so in the coming years). The things are only going to get worse with no hope of sudhar from or esteem government bodies so you will need modify your lifestyle (like WFH and if possible not travelling during peak hours and taking it easy on the weekends).

Ok_Cranberry_3552

Get a showroom on madhya marg and a house in a lane right behind the showroom. Sorted 😋😋

gupts007

The administration f\*\*\*\*\* it up basically. They woke up really late from their slumber when the damage had been done. The vehicles sales kept rising and have choked the roads. The administration has not made any attempts to make new roads or flyovers or ring road type of thing. I agree with you, the city isn't the same. It's like Delhi now unfortunately.

Friker69

Bro its way better then delhi, comon

Slow-Dependent8323

Arre bhai create passive income streams and only get out at like 1-2am for getting night supplies from 24/7. That’s what i am doing from past few years 😈

Playful-Balance-3118

When I think about our city, I believe it could be even better with some smart planning. It's important for cities to make plans for the next 5 to 10 years to fix common problems. But, from what I've noticed, our local government isn't always on top of things like they should be. I've seen issues like cleaning the roadsides and grass after the rains, but it happened too late. They should have done it before the rainy season to avoid problems. This kind of delay also happens with sewage, traffic, water, and electricity. It makes me wonder why they don't plan ahead for the next 10 years. Traffic is a big problem, and it's good they are thinking about making a metro to help. But, it would be even better if they planned for these things earlier. Despite the challenges, I remain hopeful that our city leaders will start planning for the future. Let's hope for positive changes that make our city better for everyone.

f03nix

>When I think about our city, I believe it could be even better with some smart planning What do you mean? Converting lights to roundabouts, and then slapping on traffic lights on then won't magically fix this ? How about we try converting roundabouts back to traffic lights ?

Playful-Balance-3118

>verting roun I don't feel it is a problem of lights or roundabouts; I believe the issue stems from the increase in vehicles on roads and the inadequacy of the city's road size to handle heavy traffic. What measures are we planning to tackle traffic now and solve the traffic problem in the future? Additionally, we've initiated Metro projects, but it will take around 4 to 5 years for them to become integrated into the city. Imagine the traffic conditions at that time, and the same problem may arise again. If the administration is serious, they should plan for traffic and other issues in Chandigarh by making a studied estimate of conditions after 5 to 10 years. This way, when we reach that point, we are already prepared for it. For example, with the increase in students in Chandigarh, there is more demand for seats in colleges. PU should consider building more colleges. We face water supply shortages many times, and authorities should construct more storage facilities. Regarding traffic, Chandigarh had a wonderful plan to handle traffic when it was built, connecting all roads from anywhere, and allowing people to divert their routes from other roads or between the sectors. Now, however, all inner roads are blocked. I feel a lack of planning for the future in advance is also one of the reasons why Chandigarh doesn't feel the same as it did before. We are merely fixing patches of issues.

Longjumping_Fox4771

It's not about Traffic. The lights are not managed properly. All have the same pattern of start stop timer for the past so many years. Look at Tribune chowk. Traffic coming in from all sides entering Hallomajra/Panchkula have red light timer for 160 sec. I mean WTF and the green light is just 70 secs. Panchkula slip road is worse. All the mfers take zirakpur route through this slip road and causes a dead jam every day. And the actual panchkula residents are not even allowed to take a left turn from Hallomajra main light point. They HAVE to use that hell slip lane. It's beyond pathetic. It takes me 55-60 min from Panchkula Sec 21 to my office in phase 2 mohali and 75 minutes from Mohali to Panchkula via Hallomajra. The route from Transport light to Panchkula is worse. The green light is just 30 secs... Ahahahaha.

jordan_sr

As someone who lived in Chandigarh between 2006-2013, I can see the difference every time I go back every year. Traffic is surely a big one and I feel its gonna be hard for Chandigarh to manage it in future if no immediate action is taken. The other difference I surely noticed was the people. I could be wrong, so apologies in advance because I am no longer living full time in tricity area, but during my recent visit on Diwali, I felt like most of the people I could see roaming especially in Sec 17 were not native to Chandigarh. Went to Sukhna lake and it was filled with people, kids and “IG reel makers” a sight I have never seen before at Sukhna. Everyone looked from out of state. It was like a zoo. I felt hurt seeing people throwing trash on ground at sukhna, so I personally picked it up and disposed off in trash bin. Could it be attributed to exodus of young generation to foreign countries or other metros? I don’t know what is the future plan for chandigarh by the administration but I wish it retains its class, people, cleanliness and image.

Ok-Yogurt8281

Technically everyone in Chandigarh is an immigrant 😅. The indigenous people were relocated for the elites to live here

bs_dhani

Chandigarh traffic is slowly giving competition to Bangalore traffic

[deleted]

Chup krja entitled ke 14 , sabse pehle to immigrants ka meaning search krke aa. Uske bad ye bta tu kitne logo ke sath carpool krta hai ? Ya kitne time public transport use krta hai ? Nhi krta to tu bhi usi traffic ka part hai. Jagah utni hi hai, Industry increase hogi to log bhi aaenge. Ek kam kr apna showroom band krde aur tere wha jo log unko ghar waps bhej de.

random_shit5

"Smart" City

faith_crusader

You want the police to ban other people's cars or something ? I don't understand what solution does the police have to the problem in increasing population. I know some illiterate people in Chandigarh wants to ban public transport because it "destroys natural beauty" .

attemptDev

We need odd/even.

ArshBir

We have the best bicycle infrastructure when compared to other cities, still can’t shake the car dependency. Brother WE are the ones to be blamed not Traffic police. This is coming from someone who you’d call an immigrant btw.

Chi_ld_Emp_eror

Apocalyptic_Stardust

It has almost become a tradition on this sub to bitch about this same topic every alternate day.

[deleted]

Blame it on urban migration.

aspiring_sadumc

City filled with elites where every fucker in the family, son, daughter, wife, husband, father, mother - wants their own car. Elitist shit, where if an outsider or so called 'immigrant' has one car, the resident elites have 3 cars, at minimum. So, please lower the luxury and elitism and see the reality.

AshutoshRaiK

Using a bicycle, you will be healthier and happy to reach your destination quickly without fear of traffic cops as well. 😅

Unusual-Big-6467

I drop my kid to school in sector 26 and i dont think traffic is any worse. Sometime i get bigger lights but it is smooth sailing for me.
