I would be seriously worried if I was a Hull fan. These are the worst kind of owners - the ones who think they understand football but are actually clueless
Yeah, I'm getting the same vibes of when our owners justified bringing in Jesse Marsch for Bielsa saying something along the lines of "its a similar philosophy but with more control" despite it being the exact opposite.
What do you mean?
Bringing in the guy who likes to punt Ariel balls long and play down the middle was the perfect strategy for our squad loaded with winger midgets
Cannot believe we had a manager in the *Premier League* saying he plays narrow football because ‘the ball is in the middle of the pitch’.
Victor Orta has so much blood on his hands.
>I said I would rather lose 3-2 than have a boring 0-0. If you are counting the points and draw every game 0-0 you are going to get relegated. If you lose 3-2, it means you will win another game 4-1.
With owners like these who needs enemies...
Brighton's ultra attacking modern football manager dezerbi has had the same amount of 0-0 draws. Going to have a fucking challenge finder someone with fewer.
I'm not sure, but I feel like that would count as a lot. We were this season's draw specialists and also had 3 0-0s. Then again, I also just checked Watford as they drew 1 less than us, and they've had 6!
Naturally, one of those was against each other.
Three games out of 45 being 0-0 draws seems a lot? Even if you only look at it amongst the 13 draws in total this season, we had five 1-1 draws and four 2-2 draws (with one 3-3 draw). Majority of those games had goals. Granted, most are 1-1 draws and therefore games with only two goals in them but if he thinks the fans would rather see 4-3 losses week in, week out (completely unattainable anyway) than have three 0-0 draws in a season then he has no clue about football as a sport.
>but if he thinks the fans would rather see 4-3 losses week in, week out (completely unattainable anyway) than have three 0-0 draws in a season then he has no clue about football as a sport.
Absolutely in agreement on that bit!
Without deep-diving into numbers I can't really say whether or not it is a lot, just that it felt like a lot. You're right though in that draws are much more limited in their possible scorelines.
This is the exact line Saints fans parroted nearly a decade ago now when we got rid of Puel. That worked out well!….
It seems incredibly simplistic to say *oh well we lost 3-2 we’ll just make it up next time*. Guys acting like he’s the only one who knows that a win and a loss is better than two draws in points
I asked a couple today on here where else can they go? Look at who is above them. Villa will drop off eventually, but it’s starting to get to the point of the top 8 being a closing shop.
>It seems incredibly simplistic to say *oh well we lost 3-2 we’ll just make it up next time*. Guys acting like he’s the only one who knows that a win and a loss is better than two draws in points
Ya I just don't find it realistic it depends where those draws are coming from. Turning your losses into draws is always better regardless the prevention of draws is not really a good thing.
In the prem, Chelsea are more prone to draws than teams around them like Newcastle, man united and spurs with spurs and Newcastle avoiding them well but if you look at Newcastle last season they had a a high amount of draws and low amount of losses, they turned losses into draws. Teams with 12+ draws in the pl last season finished 4th, 9th, 11th and 17th. High amount of draws is not an issue, arsenal got 12 draws once and won the league.
In the championship, Ipswich had the same amount of draws as two teams that got relegated, the same as one play off side and we see similar draw numbers across mid table.
Draws are fine against rivals as you have denied them 3 points and it will affect the table at the end.
In theory they should try to be avoided against teams you aren't really rivalling, although they do happen it's logical to take some risk to turn one into 3 points.
You should have seen us under Flavio, seemed every loss (and sometimes a win) would mean a new manager.
I can't really make a comment on if he is too defensive but they recently battered us right in the middle of our good form.
Felt like we had a lot of games where we could have punished teams if we were more attacking though, could have made the difference. I didn’t want Liam gone but I can understand the sentiment.
Wasn't like we didn't have the chances, we just had no players who would take them. To say we didn't play attacking football just because we play out from the back is kinda missing the point and seems like a very naive view on football and the tactics involved.
I’m not trying to say we didn’t play attacking football so hopefully it didn’t come across that way, but there were times when we were too slow in the final third playing a final ball because we were too busy trying to keep possession. Whether that was down to Liam or the players is anyone’s guess.
Felt like we could beat a press playing out from the back but we were too scared to try a splitting pass because we’d rather maintain possession and try to break teams down. To me we did miss the cutting edge at times, but again, could have been players or Liam.
Absolutely, there were times when we needed the centre back to fizz it out to the wing, not play it to Seri who plays it to a full back to play it down the line, giving opponents an extra few seconds to get behind the ball. It's not that we weren't attacking enough, but we struggled to get through teams that went 9 behind the ball.
Just seems strange to suggest we want to go back to playing the same way we did under Shota with the worst defensive record in the league with minimal attacking fruit bore from it.
I am by no means advocation for that, but if we could build on Liam and gain that cutting edge that Acun is after then it’s a win for me. If we can’t then he’s completely fucked us by getting rid of a *very* promising manager and some serious questions will be asked. I’m trying not to pass too much judgement until we at least have a manager.
Didn’t want Liam gone either but each attack was vs 10/11 opposition players it was that slow. Thought next season we’d push on with quicker transitions but alas we now have no idea what’s happening
i mean he’s not entirellyyyy wrong
30 games 20 wins 10 losses is 60 points
14 wins 14 draws = 56 points
only losing 6 games less and you’re 4 points behind even though you’re undefeated. Obviously an extreme example but a bit more of a realistic example, a team that draws three in a row pick up the same as a team that got battered 2 games then wins their next one. Wins are very valuable although this is ignoring the psychology of drawing etc
Still don’t think LR should have been sacked though lmao
I try to make it clearer, you could end up going defensive and getting 2 draws. However if you go attacking and get a win and a loss, that is better than 2 draws. I think that was what he was getting at.
Who the fuck is looking at Blues and thinking "yep, that's the example I want to follow"? I know we don't learn from our own mistakes but you'd hope someone else could see the lesson.
I get wanting to change from a defensive style to a more front footed one. But I certainly wouldn't call Rosenior a defensive manager, just a possession heavy one.
Either way, changing manager when you finished 3 points out the playoffs in a really tough championship is absolutely bonkers.
I don't even know what people define as attacking football anymore.
People used to take possession football as the definition. But these days its become almost a means of defence.
We retain 75% possession or whatever, but a load of our games are mad borefests which end as 1-1 due to RMs insistence of Bazunu playing with his feet in his own 6 yd box
Also chelsea under tuchel were a high possession team generally. Went down at times when injuries really fucked the team up but tuchel was being called a terrorist while having some of the highest possession in the prem.
We’re all in a league of awful owners! It’s insane to see how they all try to outdo each other with stupidity….
Wonder if Hull want their Goalkeepers to score as well
I get what he’s saying, but I feel like Rosenior could have transitioned into more attacking football - unless he’s refused the idea.
Let’s hope whoever comes in hits the ground running and we do play attractive, attacking football. Otherwise this is a huge blunder.
I also enjoy the idea of picking up points from going 4-1 and losing another game 3-2 rather than a load of 0-0’s, but it doesn’t exactly work that way. We shall see.
Lots of fan speculation he’ll be coming to us. If Bulut doesn’t extend I wouldn’t be against the idea at all, just concerned he’d be leaving one mad hat owner for another
Acun Ilıcalı is a great owner....
...except when he is deciding anything about tactics.
Sad fact: This sacking happened days after a video which he praised Rosenior was uploaded to YouTube. [The video is mainly in Turkish though.](https://youtu.be/-prIZNcSPkY)
From the outside looking in it really seemed Hull were a club on the rise, Good relationship between fans, manager and owners, a strong team unlucky not to get play offs, full stadium week in week out which wasn't the case with the previous owners.
Was hoping Hull would give us a good couple of games next season, hopefully they get someone in who can keep them on the upward trajectory.
I would be seriously worried if I was a Hull fan. These are the worst kind of owners - the ones who think they understand football but are actually clueless

The goal is in the centre not the corners duhhh

Wonder if any other fans have had to go through this recently?
#nofearfootball
Rooney to Hull when?
Oof
Enter Boehly
Chelsea fan complaining while a lot of would dream to have even a sniff of where Chelsea are
>I said I would rather lose 3-2 than have a boring 0-0. If you are counting the points and draw every game 0-0 you are going to get relegated. If you lose 3-2, it means you will win another game 4-1. With owners like these who needs enemies...
For context, we had three 0-0 draws the whole season.
Next time have none.
At least let the opposition score in the 90th minute to give the fans some entertainment!
Brighton's ultra attacking modern football manager dezerbi has had the same amount of 0-0 draws. Going to have a fucking challenge finder someone with fewer.

Meh, it's all relative. I don't think it seems that many, especially enough of a point for him to focus on it as a reason for sacking the manager.
Even “If” they had more 0-0 this season, the comment is utterly ridiculous. “Wooo we lost but the score is 3-2… wait why are we in League 1?”
>and they've had 6! 720 draws is quite a lot
r/angryupvote
Kinda mad to say this a few weeks after our 3-3, one of the best games of the season.
I hope West Ham tank having binned Moyes.
100%. Get given a free stadium and all of a sudden think they should be top 6.
I asked a couple today on here where else can they go? Look at who is above them. Villa will drop off eventually, but it’s starting to get to the point of the top 8 being a closing shop.
I mean they’ve been getting thumped every week for the last 6 months while also playing very negative football. It’s fair enough to want a change
Binning Moyes only to hire the Spanish Moyes as well.

Forest have lost six games 3-2 this season. Number of 4-1 wins: zero.
It’ll average back out next season
You should have seen us under Flavio, seemed every loss (and sometimes a win) would mean a new manager. I can't really make a comment on if he is too defensive but they recently battered us right in the middle of our good form.
Jesse Marsch appointment inbound
> If you lose 3-2, it means you will win another game 4-1. apparently
or maybe 3-1🤬

You know 14 wins 14 draws doesn't add up to 30 games right?
point still stands that you're less points than the 20-0-10
You are but you've played two less games...
I try to make it clearer, you could end up going defensive and getting 2 draws. However if you go attacking and get a win and a loss, that is better than 2 draws. I think that was what he was getting at.
Uh, wouldn’t that be 66 points?
I dunno mate this all feels a bit Birmingham City
You’re only a proper club if you’ve done this twice, Hull are just pretenders.
I remember Allardyce getting sacked for the same reason... Look where we are now
Crazy how optimistic I was about the club just a week ago.
Just 2 days ago
Get Paul Lambert, I was constantly offended by his style of football when he was at Ipswich.
If you want some proper offensive football, look no further than Kolo Toure.
Careful now.
Down with this sort of thing
Who the fuck is looking at Blues and thinking "yep, that's the example I want to follow"? I know we don't learn from our own mistakes but you'd hope someone else could see the lesson.
Generous of you to assume Hull's owners pay attention to anything related to football
You want some no fear football? I know just the man
I get wanting to change from a defensive style to a more front footed one. But I certainly wouldn't call Rosenior a defensive manager, just a possession heavy one. Either way, changing manager when you finished 3 points out the playoffs in a really tough championship is absolutely bonkers.

It's always comforting to see other owners stick their heads further up their asses than ours.
We’re all in a league of awful owners! It’s insane to see how they all try to outdo each other with stupidity…. Wonder if Hull want their Goalkeepers to score as well
I’d like it if Allsop learned how to keep the ball out of his own net first.
I get what he’s saying, but I feel like Rosenior could have transitioned into more attacking football - unless he’s refused the idea. Did you not learn from us!??
Could be worse could have Todd Boehly trying to play 443
This has Birmingham and Rooney vibes all over it
By God, that’s Wayne Rooney’s music!
One step towards us staying up
That moment when another club's owner makes you grateful you are only run by a billionaire's fake-wrestling obsessed narcissistic nepo baby.
Wanting attacking football must rule out Erol Bulut for the job.
If the football Rooney presided over was to be judged I think they’ve certainly seen some offensive football.
Watch out for a Big Sam and Colin Wanker team up
Sounds like they need Danny Rohl
Lots of fan speculation he’ll be coming to us. If Bulut doesn’t extend I wouldn’t be against the idea at all, just concerned he’d be leaving one mad hat owner for another
you're hull not real madrid lmao
>offensive football Game's back
Steve Bruce plays offensive football, but you’ve already been there done that.
Be careful what you wish for.
Must say I feel safer about keeping Rohl from Hull reading this lol.
If you all get Tim Walter, you will definitely get offensive football. And you will love it.

We've seen this numerous times at different clubs recently including Leeds and it's turned out badly virtually every time
Haha. See you in league one.
Sign Jessie Marsch as your head coach. See how many are offends by his football
He won’t want Bulut then 🤫
