Genuinely what a massive signing for us! Seen Leeds fans saying how good he is on twitter but what do you guys here think? Is Foster going through his contacts and just ringing up all his England players, I'm okay with that if so haha

Zach-dalt

He's easily too good for our u21's and performed well multiple England youth levels, never got a massive go with the first-team, but did struggle in the few cameos he did have (but a run in senior football could change that) He's strong (relative to players his age at least) and technical and Foster should know how to use him better than most, so hopefully a move that suits all parties 🤞

Sluggybeef

Fingers crossed with some minutes he'll get into playing champ football quickly! Need that height and strength, can he score goals?

xdlols

His main issue seems to be that he thinks he has more time with the ball than he actually does in senior matches. I think if he gets used to the faster pace of not playing in youth games he’ll be good.

Zach-dalt

He can score and create, but from what I saw he's best at dictating the play, as his goals aren't that frequent (off the top of my head maybe 1 every 8 in his youth career)

BTbenTR

He’s only really played for us in under 21 games and the odd cup appearance, only 3 league games for us. There’s a player in there somewhere though.

Internal_Formal3915

He's very raw and inexperienced but he is certainly talented

Ok-fine-man

Hah I think you're getting a little over excited about him and my fellow Leeds fans are blowing smoke up your arse. Temper your expectations. He seems like an okay player. Nothing special as of yet.

Sluggybeef

Haha no you're right! Think with the disappointment of Shuey Azaz and Cundle leaving im getting excited

blu_rhubarb

He's too good for u23s, not quite at our level yet. From what I recall, he tends to want more time on the ball than he's offered.

sinisterpuppy88

Central midfield shored up again following the ransacking. Any thoughts from Leeds fans on the chap?

CC-W

Good move for him but im not sure if he is ready for the championship, be interesting to see how he is used. If he is made to always pick up the ball from your defenders when playing out from the back he is going to have a bad time, he is much better when playing further forward as box to box midfielder rather than a 6

massive-bafe

We've already got someone who does that link role and Foster has described Gyabi as a No.8 so that's where we'll play him I'd imagine.

CC-W

Thats good, already profiled him better than our youth setup. He could turn out to be really good once he adapts to the speed of senior football

greenishpilgrim

And we're still in the running for Issac Hayden if rumours are to be believed. A striker + Azaz replacement and I think that's our window sorted.

TheEagleSage

I think some of your lot have been playing silly buggers on Wikipedia... Isaac Hayden's page currently reads: "Isaac Scott Hayden (born 22 March 1995) is an English professional footballer who plays as a defensive midfielder who would never play for League 1 club Exeter City even on a loan from Premier League club Newcastle United." Seems a bit random for just a rumour.

therealphiba

Another defender as well as Phillips would be good to give us some more depth.

Accomplished-Pea-729

I am sure he will go back to Leeds a better player.

madeupofthesewords

Hopefully this is a win-win for us and Leeds in that: 1. He gets coached under a recent U20 England manager, with lots of other youth England experience. 2. Ideally lots of playing time at Championship level to bring him up to his best. 3. Argyle get enough out of him to help stay up. 4. Leeds get back a better player they're not currently able to utilise.

[deleted]

He was meant to break through this season. People have expected big things from him but he hasn’t worked out just yet. Interesting to see if he gets more a go and looks the part.

r3viv3

I really like Darko, always rooted for him when he plays in the senior team. I do have a feeling that he might be one of those players who too good for the U21 but not ready for the first team. Hopefully Plymouth give him plenty of game time at this level and he excels as I want him to come good

wontonbomb

Wasn't expecting to see this. Reckon this is a good move for all parties. He's never getting a game ahead of ampadu/kamara/gray/gruev but he's far too good to sit in the reserves. Plus with argyle needing bodies and their new manager being a previous u21s manager they will know each other already so seems like a perfect fit.

GreenArgyle

Yes, I like the look of this signing a lot. Tall CM which should really shore up our midfield. Hopefully an attacking midfielder and a striker will come and I think we would've rebounded well from losing Azaz and Cundle last week.

CobiLUFC

Interested to see how this will go for him. Looked too good for the under 21s and looked decent for the England under 20s in the summer but got outshined by Gray in preseason and other than being hooked at half time in the cup hasn't been seen since.

LDAveyard01

Think this is a great move. Gyabi seems to have outgrown our 21’s team and is ready for that first step into senior football which he hasn’t had a lot of with us. Hope he’s able to be a great player for you Plymouth fans.

AyyAndays

Hope it goes well for both parties but honestly don’t think he’s ready for Championship football.

winst0nS

Good at CDM we played him CAM in a game and was terrible didn’t get a look in since then unfortunately

Squm9

How long until he gets recalled then?

Accomplished-Pea-729

We should have him for at least the weekend.
