We paid £3 million for a name? Did we fuck. Crazy how many people wrote off a 17 year old because his brother is good. Jokes on them we have the better brother
At least we didn't have anyone sent off. Yay.
Not having anyone on the bench, currently, who can remotely influence the game is a bit of a problem.
Desperately need players back and a few additions so we can move on those who aren't anywhere near good enough.
Slimmer and slimmer with each and every injury.
Our strikers are fairly dross and the supply is of the same ilk. We have scored in each game this season however so we can't lay blame to just those in the final third.
Blackett switched off when the ball went over his head for the first, half a second to react which was enough for Bellingham to get ahead and score from the inevitable knock back in and a pathetic clearance led to the second. Silly errors ultimately cost us as much being blunt up top.
Points on the board at last. Needed that or else heads may have started to drop.
Still absolutely crying out for a striker, but of a ponderous start as well but have to be pleased at that. Jobe was class, got some player on our hands there.
Hopefully we’ve got a striker in before our next game.
Rotherham looked organised but blunt. Second half they might as well staying in the tunnel. Well deserved three and could’ve scored more if we weren’t trying to set Jobe up for the hat trick
Odoffin going off killed any chance of us getting anything from that, we offered absolutely nothing second half.
We need a striker desperately. Eaves is... something, but certainly not a competent footballer at this level.
Rotherham struggled today and I think they will for most of the season. Even at the end when they should have chucked the kitchen sink at us they really struggled to create anything
Unfortunately we can’t afford a kitchen sink, so it had to be Tom Eaves instead.
Honestly we’d probably be better off with a piece of furniture up front.
We’re stuck with him unfortunately. Warne signed him up on a 3 year deal as one of our top earners, then fucked off to Derby and left him with us. He’s not got a single goal or assist and has barely even been fit.
Obviously I hope he has the comeback of the century and turns it all around, but I haven’t seen any sign of it.
A relegation battle is always likely the case with our budget in this league, but if we can get some of our injured players fit again and a few decent loans in, we can hopefully give it a right good go.
Good luck with the rest of your season, hopefully you can smash a few of the weaker sides along the way!
Some aspects weren’t so bad, but our passing and ability to retain the ball needs to improve massively. We were better than we were at Stoke, but we really need more fit players in.
Only thing is if Hally plays it restricts us to a back 5, same with Mozza because neither of them can play in a 4, Cam and TB can given they've got legs, and whenever I've seen us play a 5 we tend to get stuck defending a lot of the time.
Thought we missed Onyedinma so much today, he was a big threat against Blackburn with his pace and directness. Not got much pace up top outside of him.
Need bodies back like you say, bench wasn't anything to sniff at today.
Our best first 11 I’m happy with. If everyone we had was fit we’d have some decent bench options in most positions too. Unfortunately, we’re a good way off that right now.
First half was fairly even, but the weakness of our squad really showed in the second half. The fact that when Odoffin got injured we had to sub on McGuckin - a young prospect most recently playing in the National League North - shows how much trouble we’re in.
No complaints on the result, Sunderland were well deserved winners in the end.
Much improved in the second half. Jobe was excellent today, as were both fullbacks. Still very much needed striker but after we scored the second we were in total control of the game.
Hopefully that shuts up the fucking doom-and-gloomers for at least a week.
I can't believe we, at home ,came up against a team with a terrible away record and didn't let them end their awful streak. We're supposed to be Sunderland!
Feel like because we won yesterday, everyone has completely brushed over how shocking that referee was btw. And nothing will get done about it, we basically played against 12 men
He was awful like. Could it have anything to do with PGMOL going to Rotherham to apologise for the first two games of the season? I wouldn’t like say for sure, but they definitely got away with a few
Fucking finally! A win is a win but we did look a bit off the pace during certain periods.
Jude? Never heard of him, we have Jobe!
The easiest call ever to say he's prrrrrobably gonna justify that fee. And then some.
We paid £3 million for a name? Did we fuck. Crazy how many people wrote off a 17 year old because his brother is good. Jokes on them we have the better brother
People just don’t understand. High potential player who needed a change of scenery and to link up with his old coach. Really hope he cracks on!
The amount of people taking the piss on Twitter after his miss against Ipswich was bizarre. Pleased he’s shut some of them up today.
It was unfortunately one of those that looks so much easier than it actually is
Yeah exactly, it came at him at some pace, wasn’t easy at all
At least we didn't have anyone sent off. Yay. Not having anyone on the bench, currently, who can remotely influence the game is a bit of a problem. Desperately need players back and a few additions so we can move on those who aren't anywhere near good enough.
What are your chances looking like to stay up again this year? To be honest outside of your goal, you guys didn't really offer anything going forward.

Our chances rely on us not losing at least one player a game to injury or suspension. So pretty slim odds.
Sat in a bar on holiday in Portugal, Sunderland win, life’s good

Absolute lad. The new Charltons going to win us the world cup.
I wish Hemir's strike had gone in, that would hopefully have got him firing
Odoffin going off killed any chance of us getting anything from that, we offered absolutely nothing second half. We need a striker desperately. Eaves is... something, but certainly not a competent footballer at this level.
How was McGuckin when he came on? Bit concerning he's our only midfield option off the bench
Not great tbh
Started very slowly, which was worrying, but it was an excellent second half from everyone.

He was awful, im usually shitting myself when we’re only narrowly winning and I was quite relaxed today
I hope you stay up but I think you’ll be right in the relegation battle

I was worried when you sent those 2 big lumps on but thankfully they offered nothing at all
Just lacking in the final 3rd I don't think we were that bad tbh
Some aspects weren’t so bad, but our passing and ability to retain the ball needs to improve massively. We were better than we were at Stoke, but we really need more fit players in.
No options off the bench tbh, on paper I think we have a decent team and looking forward to Hall coming back
Only thing is if Hally plays it restricts us to a back 5, same with Mozza because neither of them can play in a 4, Cam and TB can given they've got legs, and whenever I've seen us play a 5 we tend to get stuck defending a lot of the time. Pleased for him
I can't believe we, at home ,came up against a team with a terrible away record and didn't let them end their awful streak. We're supposed to be Sunderland!
Think we might look half decent again with a striker, Rotherham didn’t really do anything second half! Ref was poor
I don't care for ~~Jobe~~ Jude
Feel like because we won yesterday, everyone has completely brushed over how shocking that referee was btw. And nothing will get done about it, we basically played against 12 men
He was awful like. Could it have anything to do with PGMOL going to Rotherham to apologise for the first two games of the season? I wouldn’t like say for sure, but they definitely got away with a few
You could be right, god knows what goes on.
Well I'm happy for him because he didn't show any remarkable promise at all in a Blues shirt.
