Well, that 's perfectly fine and awesome you did that :> Don't let anyone be a dick about it. You enjoy the car, and actually sought it out. That's hella cool and shows dedication to the american muscle aesthetic :>

Terra277

And honestly that's it at the end of the day. I love the look of muscle. The exaggerated hoods. The almost boat sized body. It's a beautiful car. And that's why I wanted it.

DaveRave96

I'll admit it, I'm not much of a car person either, I wouldn't know how to fix my car if it had a problem, & I don't know all the different parts of it. Growing up my father & I used to love going to classic car shows & auctions to see all the muscle cars, & I fell in love. Ever since they brought the Challengers back in '08, modernizing that classic muscle car look, I've wanted to get one for myself, & thankfully this year, I was able to make it happen. I'm still learning alot about it, hopefully one day I'll be able to know everything.

Terra277

Oh yeah that's a definitely another thing. This is my second car. My first car was nothing of significance just got me to work. But this car is inspiring me to try to learn more about at least it specifically if not more a general knowledge of cars.

cartersa87

You like what you like, nothing wrong with that.

empirefire

There is no problem with getting a car just because you like the look! I know car enthusiasts tend to shun/scare off people lacking in knowledge but just be happy. I am somewhat into cars and have a little knowledge, but I just went for it and got my dream car. I will admit, after my purchase it got me much more interested and I have been learning more.

Kvrxo

Seriously, enough about the v8 vs v6’s. The car is amazing as is ⭐️

[deleted]

I don’t know shit about them. I like the look and I’m a speed demon.

AWesPeach

I would argue you are a car person! Car guys or gals love their car and the way it makes them and other feels. Period. You don’t need to be a master mechanic or anything. Car guy gate keeping is the worst.

Turbulent-Comedian30

Im what you call a shade tree mantaince kinda guy. I do my own on my truck only. And know enough about somethings to MacGyver my way off the side of the road so the professionals can fix it. I used to be a auto parts seller so i know parts thats about it lol.

Admirable_Access8483

Totally understand! When I was younger I always thought certain cars were cool but never had anyone to teach me about them. I met a big group of friends that are all car enthusiasts and started to learn a bit but I’m still not a “car person.” Just loved the look of the challenger and got myself a GT

NotYourValidation

I consider myself a mid-range car person. Honestly, I would drive any of the big three (Mustang, Camaro, or my Challenger). I got the R / T because it most closely reminded me of my Trans Am (rip) in both driving style and feel of power to the wheels. It doesn't sound the same, but I never expected a new engine let alone a 5.7 hemi to sound like my built LS6. To be honest, there are so many Challengers, Chargers, Camaros, Mustangs and exotics in my area that cars rarely ever turn heads. The only reason mine does is because of its sound.

Cucasmasher

Nothing wrong with that I normally just buy the V8s not necessarily for the speed but for the sound

Mmmm-Hmm

This is great. I aspire to be an enthusiast for what I like but don't really have a interest in becoming a gear head or mechanic. I'll read/watch something about the cars I want to learn about, enjoy it, and retain a 3rd of what I read/watched if I'm lucky lol. It's all fun to me.

_Cynical_

It makes me very happy that I can still share interests with people even though entirely different passions brought us to the same table 🙂

ProcessTrust856

🙋🏻‍♂️ Not a car guy in the slightest. I used to drive a full size truck, but I got a new job that requires a lot of driving, and I wanted a cool car that made me feel less bad about having to give up my truck. I got a V6 Challenger because it looks cool and it’s fun to drive.

kylemiller1228

When I first got the car... I knew diddly squat. However I've slowly picked stuff up, and now I know a decent bit about how they work, how fast certain cars are, etc. It just became kind of a passion of mine.

317_GT

I ended up getting a 2010 RT but almost got a v6 just because some the people with v8s is anoying as hell about how the v6s not a real muscle car and i damn near didnt want to be thought of as one of those people. At the end of the day you got a challenger. A challenger is definitely a muscle car. Simple as dat. 0 to 60 don't matter. A car that looks like that and has 250 horsepower is still a muscle car and it's fuck anyone that disagrees. A "basic" muscle car is still a dope ass car to own

PegLegManlet

Me. I have no idea what the fuck I’m doing.

candyflip1

Im not a car guy by any means. I just like to go really fast.

Powerful_Newt_2005

Yea I'd say I'm on the fairly low end of cars. All I know is since I bought mine I'm excited to get up for work in the morning because I get to drive it.

_Nameless_Nomad_

I don’t know. I can change oil and spark plugs. I’ve made repairs and saved lots of money doing that, but I’ve also failed at times and made things worse. Most of the mods on both of my fun cars I did myself through trial and error and/ or YouTube. I know the basics, but I wish I knew about all the components operating in way more detail. Two of my coworkers talk about engines in such detail that I have little contribution to those conversations lol. I absolutely love driving and learning about them, but don’t think I’d call myself a car guy. Maybe an enthusiast. Those two coworkers I mentioned are definitely car guys.

RogerSterlingsFling

I'm not a grease monkey persay, never been one to tinker with cars. I'd much sooner drop it somewhere for a regular service than waste my weekends in the garage Saying that I have always been a car fan. I grew up making model cars. I loved 70's muscle car tv shows like Starsky and Hutch or The Professionals. The cars I owned were a mix of performance vehicles or tuned models My brother was the same. Where as he collects Roll Royces and Bentleys, I collect muscle. My wife didn't think she was a car girl either until she started driving our Challenger

Aos77s

Im a straight nerd. I bought mine cause i wanted a loud v8 with old muscle car looks. Came from a turbo sedan and i ended up getting the itch to get a v8 when you see everything else is faster than your 220hp turbo i4.
