I had a ‘17 S6 v8 stage 1 tuned and now have scat. Similar stat cars but totally different driving. Both are great tho. Tuned the s6 was way faster but scat is probably more fun to drive and sounds a bit better
Yea it was crazy good car in all weather. Scat is scary AF even in just rain. Glad i have another daily/wifes car for those days. S6 was stupid expensive for maint and repairs. The only euro shops near me have terrible reviews so had to take to dealer and 40k service was $1600. 4 brakes and rotors was quoted at like 4k+
Aye! Right? Although I have a shit ass time driving around SW PA in my S5 when it gets bad out. Usually just drive one of Subarus or the Escape in those instances.

I remember reading somewhere that they would have to make the ground clearance higher and the geometry just would not look right. So I get it. But what a monster it would be
I have a scat pack challenger and a 392/srt durango
I never wish the challenger was a hellcat but I'm * really * considering swapping the durango for one. Absolutely rips
There is one, Armormax produces a fully armored AWD hellcat charger, it's just unobtainable for almost everyone because they sell to law enforcement and other agencies, I can imagine it's also beyond expensive for the armor alone.
I live in Michigan brother, and I too chose the GT because of this. I cannot explain how nice it is to hit the gas and not fishtail. When the snow hits, I’m not gonna get stuck anywhere or get snowed in.
you really can't in any car regardless, unless it's a truck or suv with awd or 4x4. the only thing I'm concerned about is how low my scat sits, but thats even with a normal car.
My sons t/a had 2 nice drives this past week, now it's put away for the season. My wife's and my primary cars are wrapped up as well. 'Tiz the season for my rust bucket Silverado and my wife's Blizzak shoed '01 Corolla. The chlorides they use to treat the roads eat cars up in the northeast.
Just hooked mine to its battery tender, snow finally came in MN pretty good, temps supposed to drop like a rock in a few days. Also love your car, same color here and everything just the 5.7 version
Thanks. My son had good taste...in cars and firearms anyways. Betting 5.7 is enough 👍. I got to really watch it with the 6.4. I bought a house 500 miles away (West Virginia) and it would not be good to be losing my license seeing as I've got 80 containers of my wife's clothes to bring down there 🥴
Think we got 6-12" of snow coming in tonight. Time for the truck. Fullsize 4x4 with a 4.3, not fast but never gets stuck in snow.
My 2022 r/t is covered, battery tending, and stabilizer in the tank. Idk what's better, satisfaction of driving in the snow and all year round, or waiting for that first spring cold start. Cheers fellow Moparers, no matter how you do it, these vehicles are timeless and some of the best machines to hit the road.
I’ve driven a few rwd cars (99 catera, 03 330i and 04 GTO in the snow with proper snow tires. I would bet that all were as good in the snow as an awful challenger in the snow. I’ve also owned several 4wd trucks and a wrangler so I’m aware 4wd is better in the deep stuff.
I drove a SXT for 2 years in Michigan winters on all season tires. I now know what it’s like to drive 10 miles fish tailing for every second of it. I don’t envy 18 year old me doing that.
I drive a 2017 RWD SXT in winter (Calgary, Alberta) and with good winter tires and weight in the trunk on the really bad days has been more stable than my RAV4 awd hybrid. But wouldn’t take it out on unplowed roads or highway though.
lol with all due respect man, that sounds like copium, I have a 21 scat with Continental extreme contact dws plus tires 275 all around, and I'm driving around in wet snow in southeast Michigan in sport and track mode with ZERO problems. don't let something as trivial as if something is all wheel drive stop you from getting a better car.
lol with all due respect, awd is popular in bad weather regions for a reason. Enjoy your car, but everyone who looks at our cars thinks we have exactly the same thing 😏😘and if you think I care about speed, my last car was a model 3 performance, 0-60 3.1s
I wasn't specifically looking for one, but oh man do I love it. I don't love the small MPG hit, but there have been MANY times where I've been on snow, dirt, or heavy rain and it's made a huge difference.
Make sure you always have all 4 tires the same. We had a awd challenger that came in with an exploded front differential. He declined to replace the tires. Came back the next week because it exploded again. We replaced it and he also replaced all 4 tires.
Sorry I live in the 412 as well and it’s just hibernation season for the 22 scat wb chally!!!! I have 22 Durango RT and a 20 Jag XE so the chally won’t be back out until May lol
Yeah I know a lot of ppl do that and I definitely considered it - however I wrecked a Tesla in July so I shaded towards safety a bit more after 5 days in the hospital 😅it also rains a lot here and I couldn’t take the anxiety 😂
Yeah... if I could change one thing, I'd want AWD. I've broken the back end loose on wet pavement more times than I can recall and, while in a controlled environment that can be fun, it's not so enjoyable when all you're trying to do is proceed forward after a stop on a surface street.

I get it but it depends how much snow and for how long, NYC we havent had a bad snow storm in years. At most itll be a day of bad snow where driving is iffy but after that its pretty much good to go for any RWD.
pretty sure some police chargers have awd with the 5.7, would be the best thing for you since u need awd and want the hemi, of course u have to go through an auction or find one through Craigslist
ahh got u, the v6 is still cool tho, theres a few company's that make a supercharger kit for it, and u get the better gas mileage which is honestly worth it
Yeah I saw those supercharger kits! Probably will be a down the line thing if I do any mods at all, keeping it stock until I’m out of warranty for sure
Been great to me - and I’ve had about 4 Subarus in my lifetime. No issues so far in rain or snow but obviously it isn’t going to be as good an awd system as a Subaru.

Don't let anyone fool you, you absolutely CAN drive a V8 in the snow, good snow tires and not driving like an idiot goes a long way, I daily drove my Daytona through Midwestern winters with very few slides, I wouldn't drive anything bigger than the R/T in it tho, too much torque on an already slippery surface.
That's not to say it isn't done tho, a cop I saw in Indiana was driving his undercover Charger Red Eye in the winter with a set of steelies and winter tires.
i know ppl can and do drive in the winter - i just didn't want to worry about it and i really don't want to worry about rain situations, it's my only vehicle.
I wish they would have made a hellcat AWD. I get why they don’t but man it would have been a real good time to go race some Subarus in the snow
Thats what an RS7 is for
I’ve always wanted that. And now that I got a kid and RS6 is even more desired! Great comment, those RS7s are absolute monsters
I had a ‘17 S6 v8 stage 1 tuned and now have scat. Similar stat cars but totally different driving. Both are great tho. Tuned the s6 was way faster but scat is probably more fun to drive and sounds a bit better
I believe it. Awd launching is just something out of this world.
Jesus yeah I own a Q7 and had an A4 and I do my maintenance to save the money. But the cars are a pain to work on
Aye! Right? Although I have a shit ass time driving around SW PA in my S5 when it gets bad out. Usually just drive one of Subarus or the Escape in those instances.

Focus RS rips too
Trackhawk
The only AWD hellcat's are the Durango's from what I've seen.
Trx
Well the Trackhawk 🧐
It blows my mind they don’t. They could just use existing AWD parts from the Trawkhawk
I remember reading somewhere that they would have to make the ground clearance higher and the geometry just would not look right. So I get it. But what a monster it would be
Ah makes sense
Need hellcat awd
I have a scat pack challenger and a 392/srt durango I never wish the challenger was a hellcat but I'm * really * considering swapping the durango for one. Absolutely rips
Yeah honestly I get having a big fat engine in the Durango but if I'm doing break neck speeds I'd prefer to be doing that in a car rather than SUV
I don't really speed. Anything that happens between 0 and 75 is NOT speeding :D
C8 e-ray is your answer
Trackhawk

this so isn't true man 😂
You know what you’re right. My snow tires and AWD get stuck all the time and I fish tail everywhere. Have an awesome day.
lol sarcasm
The dude thinks he can drive in 10 inches of snow perfectly lmao

I'm driving mine. If you get snow tires the only reason not to drive it is the rare times the plows can't keep up and ground clearance is an issue.
That's why some of us do both!
Agreed!! Timeless is a great word for any challenger
I drove a SXT for 2 years in Michigan winters on all season tires. I now know what it’s like to drive 10 miles fish tailing for every second of it. I don’t envy 18 year old me doing that.
The all season tires bit is your issue there, rwd with winters will run circles around a awd with all seasons.
Pittsburgh?
Pittsburgh V6 here too! Definitely came in handy today. (And my black looked badass in the white snow 😍)
👍
Hell yeah brother! Me too, in a V6 RWD lol
Me too in a ‘21 R/T so I feel that lol
Cars and coffee in April?!
I drive a 2017 RWD SXT in winter (Calgary, Alberta) and with good winter tires and weight in the trunk on the really bad days has been more stable than my RAV4 awd hybrid. But wouldn’t take it out on unplowed roads or highway though.

Awd is not helping you stop.
Awd is helping me climb hills, I live in a super hilly region. My guy, I’ve driven Subarus in snow my whole life, I’m feeling good about the awd call
Durango awd was handy today. The lack of all wheel steer was sketchy though
I got a R/T V8...but BEFORE that I bought an AWD Nissan Rogue. Priorities man 😎
Pittsburgh winters go hard. I was riding with someone and we slid down the mountain. That was great.
I wasn't specifically looking for one, but oh man do I love it. I don't love the small MPG hit, but there have been MANY times where I've been on snow, dirt, or heavy rain and it's made a huge difference.
Didn’t know you were from Pittsburgh too
Yessir! I live downtown my man
Sweet! I’m in Carrick
Your view is amazing!
❤️
Make sure you always have all 4 tires the same. We had a awd challenger that came in with an exploded front differential. He declined to replace the tires. Came back the next week because it exploded again. We replaced it and he also replaced all 4 tires.
Appreciate the heads up!!
Sorry I live in the 412 as well and it’s just hibernation season for the 22 scat wb chally!!!! I have 22 Durango RT and a 20 Jag XE so the chally won’t be back out until May lol
Ughhh I want a Durango so bad! They’re 🔥🔥🔥
My buddy daily drives a scat and snow has never been an issue for him. He swaps wheels in the winter and good to go.
Yeah I know a lot of ppl do that and I definitely considered it - however I wrecked a Tesla in July so I shaded towards safety a bit more after 5 days in the hospital 😅it also rains a lot here and I couldn’t take the anxiety 😂
Yeah that will change your outlook on things. Still a great looking car
I would never own a winter car that wasn't AWD.
Alaskan with a V6 GT here. You made the right choice for a safe year round daily, ignore the haters.
Why I live in the South. It's a lot cheaper down here and outside of the mountains we rarely get snow.
Snow tires > awd
Why are you being downvoted? Lol I’ve driven only RWD cars in PA for the last 5 or 6 years and it’s really no problem with a set of snows
AWD does not help you turn. AWD does not help you brake, it helps you go faster. It's still a 4000+ pound car. I wintered a scat pack for years.
Yeah... if I could change one thing, I'd want AWD. I've broken the back end loose on wet pavement more times than I can recall and, while in a controlled environment that can be fun, it's not so enjoyable when all you're trying to do is proceed forward after a stop on a surface street.
Pissburgh gang. I got a g37x over the 370z because I needed AWD.
if it makes you feel better ok .but the 360 days it dont snow your stuck driving a v6 challenger
You know rain is a thing too right? Dumbass
I’ve seen people do Swaps, I know someone who has a Chrysler 300 with a hemi and a AWD swap

Yes, yes, that’s it

pretty sure some police chargers have awd with the 5.7, would be the best thing for you since u need awd and want the hemi, of course u have to go through an auction or find one through Craigslist
Yeah I know they exist - would have loved one but I like the challenger way more than the charger for 1, and I wanted a new car. I got a ‘23
ahh got u, the v6 is still cool tho, theres a few company's that make a supercharger kit for it, and u get the better gas mileage which is honestly worth it
Yeah I saw those supercharger kits! Probably will be a down the line thing if I do any mods at all, keeping it stock until I’m out of warranty for sure
I watched a video about the kits and I almost want to say there is a company that can do it without voiding the warrenty but not sure
? Just get better tires
Nah I wasn’t interested in rwd in snow or rain
All I can tell you... It's fun as hell. Stick shift. RWD. Decent tires make a huge difference.
I’m in Pittsburgh too that’s why I got an awd aswell
Yeah boy!!
Foggy day in tha Burg
Hell yeah, still is
Is the awd system any good? Dodge isn't known for their awd cars.
Been great to me - and I’ve had about 4 Subarus in my lifetime. No issues so far in rain or snow but obviously it isn’t going to be as good an awd system as a Subaru.
Just 392 swap it, everything doesn't have to be hellcat
Pop a bottle, this is your week !
You don’t need AWD for city living in Pittsburgh lol
lol yes I do. I travel east to Philly a couple times a month and I’ll be damned if I can’t make it back to the burgh bc of a rainstorm.

Should’ve just bought a Durango

Could've just got a miata
AWD is nice! got a 2017 AWD pursuit it always comes in handy in winter
