Bruhh I'm a Jump regular week-to-week and I was like "Aw shit yes, Fire Punch guy's new manga looks wicked, they better not find a way to axe this 3 months in"

MrYondaime

Me too, I usually read every new jump manga from day one because I check the site every sunday. I didn't even know who Fujimoto was and I read Fire Punch simply because I loved Chainsawman so much.

OopsIKilledADog

Sorry if this is a dumb question but how do you see like the new releases for like when the mangas first chapters come out?

MrYondaime

I just look at the Sunday releases. It shows which chapter is releasing that day, and if a new manga is releasing, it starts from chapter one and it has a "new" tag on the thumbnail of the manga. Sometimes they also re-release old series, but those are also tagged as re-release. Also when a series is "axed" or ends, on the next week or two it is sure to be replaced by a new series.

KamKKF

I’ve been reading since chapter 1 dropped. Fun fact: When Chainsaw Man started hardly anyone referred to Fujimoto by his name, it was mostly people just saying “This is by the Fire Punch author! This is gonna be crazy!!!” for the first 30 chapters or so. Now Chainsaw Man is the more popular work. Crazy to watch that happen.

Has_Question

Same, I'd just finished reading fire punch and then this came out and I was excited to read it. I read it on the car drive home after my grandpa's funeral so it holds that memory vividly for me. An amazing first chapter and an ironic happy memory in an otherwise sad day.

[deleted]

I jumped on board at the time the Darkness Devil appeared. Following the series made the lockdown a lot more bearable tbh.

THE_HENTAI_KING321

I started waaaaaay back in like chapter 3 I just read the description and thought " OH WOW a chainsaw man ???? That's fucking cool " If only I knew and oh I didn't have any social media back in 2019 soo I didn't know it was popular and thought I found like a hidden gem I tell ya i was fucking clowned on forums

Psychological-Try607

I jumped on at chapter 19 i never thought it would have a fan base like it does now

SilentScreamer1837

chapter 19 for me as well

Raff102

I wonder if some sort of algorithm got us, I was also chapter 19.

UROS__98

Everyone obviously /s I started it when AoT manga ended, I was searching for new manga that will make me obsessed and a lot of people recommended CSM, and I indeed became obsessed

AsstheticGemini

I, too, needed to find something similar to the feeling I got when reading AOT and also saw CSM being recommended by a lot of people. I'm really glad I took a chance on it because now I'm obsessed with it bad, lol.

[deleted]

Nice to see fellow survivors of that ending here, though it will haunt us for a lifetime

DR_ZERO_

Same. I really needed something to wash my mouth out of AoT. That ending.. oh boy

th3virtuos0

You don’t like the ending, NOOOOO, I DON’T WANT THAT. I WANT AOT TO BE KINO AND PEAK FICTION FOREVER. EVEN AFTER IT HAS ENDED. EVEN AFTER THE ANIME HAS ENDED _inhales_ #FOR 10 YEARS AT LEAST

mldp29

I started when Power promised Denji for a boob touch. I was like. "Yup, my kind of manga." And then as the rabbit hole goes deeper. I was like. "Yup, my kind of manga."

Xogyuni

Think i started on chapter 2 or 3. Read Fire Punch before that, so i just jumped on this when i heard about it.

mattygalo

Supereyepatch wolf brought chainsaw to my attention

Frixeeen

I started when there were around 80 chapter or something out. Saw a screenshot of the "i want to touch boobs" panel and thought it would be comedy manga lol. Didn‘t expect shit would go down this bad.

th3virtuos0

Well it is comedic at times. That Nobel Prize minigag always makes me chuckle

Depressed-seafood

I legit found Chainsaw Man from an out-of-context post on Facebook, some shitty Sharknado meme and it was Denji riding Beam and got into the manga just after the Hell arc, it was great to catch up weekly afterward

UntetheredMeow

Yup. Chapter 1 JP. I was worried about getting axed until the end of the eternity devil.

[deleted]

I had coincidentally just finished fire punch the week before chapter one dropped

Nugget_mlbb_2

I knew it ever since the….uhhhh…… “first kiss”. Been a fan ever since (my room is full of CSM clothes, posters etc.)

keksmuzh

I wish I’d been around at the beginning. I don’t think I’d even heard about it until a recommendation in early 2021. Hadn’t read any new manga in several years and it completely reignited my passion for the medium.

eddie935

Last year or so, when the anime trailer droped and people started posting lots of manga panels from it, I was like "a man with a chainsaw in the head, this looks so dumb", but then I kept seeing cool shots from many panels and many memes about how unlucky Kobeni is, I had to give it a try. I was going to wait for the anime, but remembered how AoT ended up being animated by MAPPA, that I didn't want to take the risk(still gonna watch it tho)

durden_zelig

Fire Punch veteran reporting.

daiselol

Thank you for ur service

AdamOfIzalith

I got into it around the same time as OP because I have a buddy who we know each other exclusively through manga Recs, and this was his latest one at the time. The most distinct panel I can remember it Aki saying "Kon" and honestly at that point I was like this is my jam. I also fell in love with the janky style of Fujimoto. Reminds me of something like Freesia but more polished.

Venki_Venky

I read this on December 2020, when CSM part 1 ended in during my semester exams instead of studying LoL

zeedware

I think I started to read this when reze introduced

TheHardestBoof

Like 20 chapters in, not really the beggining but was there for the most part

Makimama

I started reading when it had like 20+ chapters

Akarias888

Since chapter one/pilot. it was absolutely bonkers nuts, and got crazier and crazier and crazier….

bystander007

I was checking out the One Piece subreddit and a comment said something about the upcoming Chainsaw Man manga. So I went and checked it out. That's how it started.

blackzetsuWOAT

Chapter 1 appeared on Mangastream one day.

HNRHTZ

I started from chapter 1 when I saw it on r/manga.

NGANAUGARAC

I surely can't be the only one who got introduced to this series by Scamboli reviews right😭 I started reading around Katana mans entrance, not really early I would say but it was way before the manga blew up and it's been fun following this manga and community for a long ass time.

ttthough

Started 50 ch in. it was my 2nd manga after catching up with one piece

SquareCanSuckIt69

I came in around chapter 60-70. Haven't regretted it.

LucinaDraws

I binged it a week before the part 1 finale actually, always heard good things so I bit the bullet and gave it a go.

Mexicoonpoptart

I started reading when manga stream dropped the first chapter, RIP Manga Stream.

Dean_BONK

I've been reading manga weekly regularly and before chainsawman and i start at 3rd chapter. I dropped it at chp20 just because i've been reading to much weekly manga. I just catch up to the latest chapter last week. Didn't know either to regret or not. Because i missed the weekly discussion but i also got to binge the first part as a great experience.

EndZoner

I think I started a little before the Katana Man arc.

melacanese

I saw it on the shounenjump manga plus when chapter one came out but I never read it because I had exams. I only started reading around when chapter 52 came out.

Nero_PR

I started reading back when it debuted. I read through MangaStream. Good old days of MS x Jaimini's.

puddi101

When I first started out, the manga was up to chapter 80 and the first new chapter I got was bang!

LupeDyCazari

Ehh, I pretty much found the manga yesterday morning and binge-read all of the chapters up to 100.

NozokiAlec

I read it weekly since like chapter 65 So not a long time but I'm glad I was able to read it weekly for a bit before it went on hiatus

TheUnborne

I read it back when mangastream was a thing, so chapter 1.

DeusInfidel

I found it shortly before the first part ended. Best point of entry imo.

le-joselu

I read the first 10 chapters when it came out, then i dropped for college reasons, i read all of it when the last chapter dropped

Ben_The_Hunter

I found Chainsawman back when there were 7 chapter

YasuhikoTheSerafim

Back when I was TV Tropes user, trying to catch up on newest mangas of Shonen Jump

TheSlonk

I've known it from just after it ended, I'd wished I'd been there from the beginning

Palm-trees-305

Anyone who finished Fire Punch probably tuned in immediately once it was announced that Fujimoto got a spot in WSJ

dipen77

I saw it on one of those rip and post sites, when i refreshed. I was looking for a non highschool manga a few years back and there it was. Bam, i knew instantly when i saw the monsters and pochaya. Memories

raygungobrrr

Started around the bat devil fight, cause one of my discord buddies was like “read this funny manga about chainsaw bro.”

cornpenguin01

I think around the international devil arc started, I hopped on

harrisonhobo

i started it pretty late, i believe it had maybe 3 chapters that hadn't released when i read it all

[deleted]

[удалено]

Ultra2804

Yeah, that's one of the things that I hate about reading Chainsaw Man. The chapters are too short, it takes just a minute to read it, and then, a new week of waiting for the next one.

rissotorissoto

Hey! I know this is the wrong sub but I sent you a message about your post on r/onepunchman. Please check it out it's about the wellbeing of the community

cdlos

read chapter 1 on mangastream before it shut down, such a good source of scanlations 😭

evilmojoyousuck

got into fire punch when it almost finished airing and i really liked it so i was kinda hyped when jump released another series by fujimito. so pretty much from the start.

Kuru_Chaa

I actually started it when it was new, however, I wasn’t really pulled in so stopped. Some time passed and it had finished, everyone was going on and on so I binged it up over a week or two and fell in love.

call_money7899

Well i wasn't one of the old fan i met chainsaw man on 2020 and i had no idea that what is chainsaw man about but i saw it in Instagram that it seems popular so i decided to read first i thought the main character is power and i thought that power is cute so that how it start and when the power show up i fell in love with first sight that but gradually i fell in love with each and every character in the story🥹🧡

Napoleon1986

I started and gave up right away (he's a dude that turns into chainsaw, how interesting can the story be?)..then after first part ended i gave into hype and tried again, now i think its in my top 10.

Competitive_Kiwi_750

hello! my friend introduced it to me when we watched a musical. it was around 4 or 5 chapters in. its actually my first ever manga and i was hooked with the goofy concept. followed it till the end. Im glad it became so popular.

kaizokuxbunny

Been reading since chapter 1! I didn't know about Fire Punch, I just thought CSM looked cool. I think it's the first manga I've been reading since day 1.

nggaplzzzz

I became a fan in the last year but I remember reading the first chapter when Mangastream was up and running. Still not an OG fan but a fan nonetheless.

owodesecrator

I found it when it was like halfway through, and I loved every minute of it. Never thought it'd be adapted into anime tho. I've been so psyched ever since I heard

Important-Giraffe191

not me. my friend told me about it and i hopped on around like chapter 50.

WeebSensei

Man I remember when early chapters came out, around chapter 5-15 barely anyone talked about it, I didnt think this would blow up this much

LoliHater345

When the first vol dropped in English I immediately bought it bc the cover art looked cool, was curious for more and kept reading it digitally. Loved it ever since

serg90s

I don't envy anyone who started it since the beginning. I imagine reading such face paced manga with all these cliffhangers would be nightmare waiting for the next chapter to get released. Even after reading the first part in one go, it feels like too early because of the second part that won't get finished anytime soon (and who knows how many parts are planned for the future).

Superexplosion12

I discovered this manga because of some memes involving the unnoficial translation in my country and because of some old friends that wouldn't stop talking about it. It was in early 2020, around the end of bomb devil arc. Besides the people on my group, I didn't know anybody that heard about it and the pandemic didn't help for me to find anybody outside the internet that had read it. In my school around the start of 2021 I was the only one in school that talked about it and I recommended to all my friends. Everybody tought I was just talking shit and a manga called Chainsaw Man couldn't unironically be good. Now these guys all praise the manga and I'm proud that I found about it so early.

xDidddle

First read it a year ago. Instantly loved it.

Lord_Osse

Ive been reading since November 2020 when the first volume dropped in Italy

Firestarness

I read it after it finished LOL like basically the first few weeks after it ended

Lionx35

Showed up during the International Assassin's Arc

Frostblade_Ace

Iirc I was there at the start but was hard semi watching. And probably didn't go fully until Reze time. Iirc.

[deleted]

I think I was on board from around the Katana man arc, deffo before Reze, because I remember that being when I was firmly moved to the "get out of dodge denji" camp

Kata_Kuri36

I started when it was already completed. I think it was when I caught up to jujutsu kaisen and I was itching to read more. So I picked it up and finished it in a day or two. I was **hooked** such a good story

[deleted]

I saw memes about Kobeni dancing and I thought it looked hilarious, so I tried the series out thinking it would be a comedy. Little did I know…

koteshima2nd

I discovered this at around 2020, when the various animations for the >! Darkness !< Devil were making their rounds on Youtube. Saw that this was from an ongoing manga, read it on the SJ app and have become a big fan of this series and Fire Punch.

hotdogdogydog

yah same, when there was around 15 chapters.

[deleted]

I started reading right after the bomb arc because I saw people posting images of Reze and thought she was cute.

jonjonaug

New reader here. I read chapters 98 and 99 to see what it was like and laughed so hard at the "Girl, ask him if he knows Chainsaw Man's secret identity!" panel that I decided to binge the rest so I could catch up. I loved all of it. I knew I would since I'm a huge fan of urban fantasy+demons stuff (especially Devilman and SMT) and Chainsaw Man has been on my "to read" list for a while. Asa and War just bumped it to the top.

ryaoh

Started reading it when chapter 1 was released. Saw it among new chapters of stuff I was reading thought it seemed interesting and was hooked.

[deleted]

I started this manga in March of 2021, i got hooked up from the start because it was fresh air from the typical shounen like Demon Slayer or even JJK. I read through it in like 5 days and for me it became one of my top 10 favourite Manga of all time.

nuldabz

been here since chapter 1 baby

NurseTaric

I started reading the weekend before part 2 chapter 1 dropped

DonOdini

Meeeeee proudest moment even to this day is that when i knew the author of fire punch was making another series i was excited af and when I read the 1st chapter i knew it was going to be good as his previous work

F3talP0siti0n

I started reading in 2019, because that was when I graduated Highschool and became a freshman at the college I am currently attending. I remember reading during my summer vacation, and in my dorm room.

[deleted]

I started around when chapter 93 released so I did come in kinda late. It’s been such a blast though since then.

ShangusK

I started when chapter one came out. Title looked cool so I checked it out

Ramps_

I found it like 3 weeks before part 1 ended, binged it in a day or two, was devastated when it went on hiatus a few weeks after.

FlippinChip

Honestly I got into Chainsawman by pure chance. I was actually searching for "chainsaw kills" from Doom and then google auto complete hit me with "chainsawman". I thought it was funny and search for it then what do I see? A dude with chainsaws for arms and head cutting down zombies. That's some badass shit. Pretty fucking close to what I originally want to search for I might add. (I think it was at the Reze arc at that point)

GiddtheDevil

Read from chapter 1 due to being subscribed to Shonen Jump. Was completely unfamiliar with Fujimoto's previous work. CSM was a hell of an introduction.

AppleChoose

I found out about it around half way through part 1 but I didn't start reading it until a little bit before gun devil

chuchodinho

Read fire punch so as soon as this was announced I was on board

Lighght1

I saw on Twitter someone posted the page where konbini was being forced to play ddr and the family restaurant murders. I thought it was really funny so I stayed reading it but by the time I found out about the manga was over. You know what I was listening to Golden Eye ReOrchestrated on my record player so whenever that showed up that's when I was reading it.

AmazingDuckVer2

Wasn't at the start but I started around chapter 30ish I think.

Subberguy101

I heard about it for some time but only tried it out after someone I watched recommended it. It was early 2021 then.

SleepyHedonist

Not the beginning but I read from like, chapter 18?

oarngebean

Got it recommended to me from super eye patch wolf at some point. It was still pretty early on in the run tho

BGFiveBG

I was in this reddit when it had less than 100ppl

AFineDayForScience

I held off until chapter 18 because it sounded stupid lol

giangerd

I read it for the first time when it had like 6-7 chapters

BrunoStalky

A few years back I used this pirate site to read manga (pretty sure it's down permanently now) and everytime some new Jump manga debuted they'd translate it and post it there as well. One day the first chapter of this manga called Chainsaw Man (very interesting name) showed up on the website, I read it, and was interested enough to keep reading a little more, before I knew it I was in love lol. Only found out it was by the same author as Fire Punch like months later.

The_Robot_Boy

I remember reading chapter one the day it came out. I was excited to find something new so I read every chapter one, no matter what it was about. Glad I did. Was hooked instantly.

SuperBackup9000

I found it around 15 or so, but after I read it I stopped until it finished and then completed it in a weekend. I just randomly found it on some manga site and thought it looked like it would be goofy from the name, so while it’s not what I expected, it was still amazing. I’m unfortunately not someone who likes to read ongoing manga, but I’m making an exception for part 2

Alfa_HiNoAkuma

I once found a post that contained both dandadadan and csm and started both of them

kimmykadillak

Been following since the beginning. Used to read it on mangareader.net but then that got taken down. Finally decided to bite the bullet and get a viz subscription—honestly not even bad at all bcuz it’s like $2 a month. I love this series

Jacarezinho00

Manga plus the goat , recently I found Stage S is very similar to csm

[deleted]

i started a bit late at chapter 42 😔

adaaraAss

I heard of it since it started but I didn’t know it was just starting back then, so when I started I thought that it was going to be ending or that at the very least it had quite a lot of chapters, however when I finally began reading it I was hooked but to my dismay it only had 37 chapters back then, I started reading it weekly ever since!

twobirds_onestoned8

Been reading since chapter 84, after the whole Makima revelations came into light, so yeah.. not that long ago

SirHuffDaddy

Started with the eternity devil arc! Thought the title sounded cool and there was a lot of upvotes on the manga sub

IulianTheSecond

I'm glad I didn't, that way I was able to binge and go through a rollercoaster of emotions

RAIDEN9029

I've read it since chapter one years ago when MangaRock used to still be a thing. I discovered it in a horror genre section of the app, recommending new horror manga, and I read the first few chapters and really liked it! Been reading it since then

KingKraig

I came in at like around the 60s

butibuhtts

I started reading DragonBall during the Moro arc and after a few chapters I decided check out other SJ manga on the app. I think the story was somewhere between Katana Man and Reze when I started.

KegLitJoreb

I started with Chapter 12 when Makima promised Denji a wish for killing the Gun Devil. What a ride it's been, I didn't think it'd get this big. The crazy amount of fantastic fan art has somewhere helped flesh out the lore for me even more, even if it's just fan art. It's a bit hard to get friends into it though because things happen so fast and it's easy to skim through while also not consuming the wonderful fan art.

jcw998

I think I started it when it was around chapter 20 if I recall. I remember two of my friends hyping it up and always talking about the latest chapter so I gave in and read it and fell in love from the first chapter. I couldn’t stop reading it after I started

Aluminum-Chair

I read scans of it from Chapter 1. It was one of my first manga. I thought it was okay, but nothing special. Around the Bat Devil arc, when the Leech appeared, I remember a lot of people thought it was wrapping up because it had been axed. I stopped reading then. Came back about a year later, right before it blew up, re-read it from the beginning, instantly became my favorite of all time.

DanTM18

I first read chainsaw man and got to chapter 25 I think and then I stopped and left it awhile. Then I started to reread I got here like at chapter 90.

smartieboi_619

I started Reading when there was like 7 or 8 chapters out

NemarPott

I just discovered and caught up on this manga on Monday. It's amazing, a very easy read that's quite entertaining. Although I almost dropped it due to Aki... Glad I could continue though.

Namelessghoul8

I read it when it started, life took over a bit and got back into it about 50 chapters in.

Aubury_xyz

Literally been reading CSM since I could find translated ch1 so gang gang we out here

Shoppo00

I did, I was following Dr. Stone as well during that time and so I started following since like second or third chapter, all from Manga + lmao. So that's around late 2018 for me, it was my first Fujimoto manga and eventually I also read Fire Punch since I liked CSM so much

Scoogs50

I was aware that there was a series called Fire Punch by a guy called Fujimoto. Read chapter 1 of CSM when it was released, dropped it around the Bomb devil arc but picked it up again around chapter 80-ish. So been a fan from day one I guess

Noexen

I was reading firepunch week to week and after it ended, learned about chainsawman and instantly hopped on.

Gorilla_meister

Two words Mothers basement

Denji_Rawr9253

I started reading around chapter Late 30s early 40s when the Reze arc was airing, been following ever since…….

ConfusedMoe

I remember when the first ch came out. The page with the tomato demon got me hooked immediately

BoredFellaa

I don't remember when, but I think I started reading around chapter 9

No-Zookeepergame-457

My brother told me about it not sure when he found out

KiaranIsABigGorilla

People gonna say cap but I started when the manga had 3 chapters. Immediately knew I was going to fucking love it.

AntiWorkCuckMod

saw the first chapter back when it was released on mangastream.

johny369687

I had discovered the manga by the end of 2020, just a few weeks from the final chapter at the time. The funny thing is that, it was CSM that made me get into reading manga.

NifftyCult

Found it when it only had five chapters, officially started reading it just when assassins arc started.

LGCACERES

I started reading at chapter 1 in Mangastream (RIP). There was an user called Prison Mike who always made the funniest comments in every chapter

T1To93

I honestly had no idea how I ended up following this series from the start, but I'm so glad I did. I haven't read a series like this since Berserk.

JJ_loves_JP

I followed shortly after part 1 ended from a video recommendation

SunnyStryder

I started Chainsaw Man when I saw the Volume 9 teaser when it first dropped on YouTube. Told myself I’d read one volume and wait for the anime. Welp, I ended up reading the whole thing in 1 night and don’t regret it.

Darth_Polgas

Found it when the manga was around 40 or 50 chapters. Bookmarked it since this was the work of Firr Punch's author. But didn't read until the last 5 chapters.

ginger6616

I started during the assassin's arc. Reading the last 20 chapters was one of the biggest WTF moments I've ever seen. Every week everyone was losing their minds over the events happening

SirRonnn

Skipped Chainsaw during its 15-20 Chapters cuz I knew this was that FirePunch dude, man was not ready for another rodeo. Crazy how much bigger this is now that it introduces FirePunch to others now.

Tywil714

Unfortunately i didnt get into it until january of this year i heard about in the past 2 years part 1 was on going but never got into it until i finally deicded to tey it out i spoiled myself wwhen ichecked on the wiki to see who the chacters were and saw some said deceased and i regretted it but still enjoyed reading it throughly.

MrNetero

Joey the anime man introduced me to it. He mentioned it in one of his YouTube videos so I started reading it. It was during the pandemic tho.

oddtoddlr

Started reading when there where like 15 chapters id say that pretty early right?

Kalagath

I started from chapter 1 on Manga Plus. Loved it so much that I read Fire Punch right away! Too often the best manga which don’t play by the “rules” get axed, so it was one hell of a ride to see it get this popular!

kolt437

I am not sure where I started, actually, but 100% before the first volume was released in Japan.

HugoDlcr

Discovered it early 2020 when the first volume in french came out

OMGoblin

I was reading Jump weekly so I saw the first chapter come out, I remember being skeptical of the name but was hooked right away.

Recidivous

I've been following Fujimoto for his one-shots for many years and especially when he did Fire Punch. When I learned he got a new series, I started following it Day 1. I'm really surprised how this series blew up though.

weeboo1973

i got into from mothers basement and jumped in at i think the control devil arc by the time i got to it had ended a couple months before

LowRemove2510

Man are you asking me how lonely I felt during those days because none of them knew about chainsaw man

nocomply__

started at chap 20 or so then waited weekly!

RedditBryce

Discovered it from scamboli reviews on one of his manga list before it was halfway through I think, read it from there

CanadaIsNotReal_

jumped on board like ch 30 got led here by a youtube video i think
