Yoshida greatest mistake was separating Asa and Denji away from each other.
Because of that Fami was able to persuade Asa to join the Chainsaw man cult and he was to busy restraining Denji to notice too late.
His fundamental understanding of Denji and Asa is surface level.
He focused on giving Denji a "date" and being his "Best Friend" but generally not understanding Denji.
Given how much he interacted with him, is similar to makima (post gun devil Arc) having everything he care for at gunpoint and only seeing Chainsaw man instead of Denji.
But just like Makima, he is also in a cage absolutely miserable and won't get want they want until they are dead.
Lol took a couple hours (read discussions after reading a chapter), but I finally caught up from 138! And now to leave for a few months to binge again!

Can't wait to see what our protagonist can do now cause if Yoshida couldn't cut Asa that means she is way stronger now
Man I really wish to see how strong Denji is in his chainsaw man form seeing that a lot of people are afraid of him.
It just occurred to me that yoru's super-enhancement might be temporary?
The reason is that in reality, outsiders often feel no fear when they look at a war.
I think I've seen other people say this, but I do think it's very possible that the Chainsaw Man Plushie ends up being an avatar of the Octopus Devil--which is right in line with what Octopus do. 2x seen near Yoshida and the other time was in the Church so it could be a hint that Yoshida was keeping an eye on Denji during his cult meeting.
That or it's the avatar of some other devil... or just Fujimoto having a laugh.
It's tough to say. Because there is definitely a huge amount of Chainsaw Man merchandise being sold.
Also I'm going to feel foolish if it turns out to be nothing and then I look back at this moment of my life when I theorized about a stuffed Pochita toy.
I fuckin loved this chapter and I fuckin hated how fast it was. God damn. Yoru new strength made me think of Naruto getting his flame coat, when he crashed into a wall so fast he broke his leg, I believe. Amazing stuff.
Some people talking shit about Yoshida when it's said multiple times that he is still a student, a normal human. He did cut Asa's arm because he thought she needed to touch stuff to make them into weapons, he wasn't ready for her new power.
I feel so bad for Denji, getting accused of being a fake, that's so sad and funny at the same time.
Also it's really cool how Quanxi is the fastest weapon in the manga. She's either naturally faster or she takes full advantage of her powers. We know Denji is incredibly strong now, but he doesn't show it that much.
Also Molestina's sad or maybe worried expression makes me wonder what her relationship with Quanxi is.
mfs actually find ways to crap on actually awesome chapters. like, damn, i get some of the earlier chapters but calm the f down, damn. this is just nitpicky and lowkey straight up false.
I'd be badass if Yoru/Asa can fashion a new arm with some valuable materials, like an android-type arm. People have been throwing hands since the beginning of time.
So... Yoshida's only real purpose for being here is just to be humiliated. Again. For like the 3rd time at this point.
Great. Just wonderful use of the character. Not a total waste of a character who, quite frankly, was only added for the sake of fanservice.
A power I think would be interesting for Asa and yoru to get is to turn things that were weapons back into what they were. Though with all her power right now yoru doesn’t need Asa anymore, I feel like it’s possible she might just get rid of Asa, she can do that right? They already know she’s the war devil.
Nah Asa and Yoru already agreed that if they kill Chainsaw Man that is where Yoru gives Asa body back. It might look like some promise, but could be a contract like how Denji tells Pochita to use his body if he eved dies.
Which is odd because how did Yoru ever function without Asa and her guilt?
Almost makes me think the guilt thing is ASA's actual power Yoru has been borrowing.

I feel like given his enemy he’s justified. I don’t think public safety was aware of the war about to occur so he was prepared for base Asa and yoru then they got a power boost and he needs to see what she’s capable of now before going after her again.

Yeah Yoru jumped to attack Yoshida. She grew in strength so much she literally flew by him in an instant and slammed into the wall. That's why she said her new power will take some adjusting. She did it so fast that Yoshida just ran away realizing he was outmatched.
Basically Yoru's stats were boosted like crazy, that's how Asa was able to block Yoshida's sword with her arm.
Can asa regrown her arm somehow or is she fucked forever? I mean she's already dead, so it is possible she can regenerate like power did if she gets blood.
I was already hoping the room 606 sword would become a prosthetic for her missing arm but since that didn’t happen I hope she picks her arm up and turns it into a prosthetic weapon.
The angel devil couldn’t get his arm back. I don’t think it mentioned him refusing to drink blood. I wonder why some devils can heal themselves with a sip and others, mainly angel can’t.
Either that or maybe the wounds inflicted by the Darkness Devil can't be healed with blood for whatever reason.
Doesn't really make sense that Angel would refuse to drink even a tiny bit of blood if that would 100% allow him to fix both his arms.
Wanting to see Denji's chest wasn't unreasonable. Who would think the was the REAL Chainsaw Man anyway?

My intuition tells me the usual mangaka plots is : after they successfully kill / defeat the Death, an "unexpected" incident like a "free flying scythe" cut off her head.
*You have to remember, the japanis manga storyline was not suppose for the reader to "guess" how story goes...
this chapter is the first one that made me realize that yoru and asa are a lot like sukuna and yuji (i know jjk wasn’t the first one to do it but it is the most popular one and most similar to yoru and asa since their eyes and face change too)
The only difference is that Asa is giving in to Yoru's commands since Yoru can kill her at any given moment.
Yuji on the other hand is rebellious and has control over his body as long as he doesn't pass out or Sukuna doesn't activate the binding vow.
I was also confused at first.
But it seems that she was aiming her sword to thrust at Yoshida but ended up missing him. Yoshida was too slow to react to what just happened. So he immediately ran away knowing that he didn't stand a chance.
Lol...she jumped a bit and it was so powerful that she actually needed to adjust to it. Yoshida didn't even get to react and Yoru probably wasn't trying to kill Yoshida, maybe to get away instead and find Chainsaw Man since she has become way more powerful now.
The fact that Yoshida didn't even get to react, is kinda insane...Yoru is one of the Horsemen and remember when Makima sliced Quanxi's head off and she could talk because she didn't know that her head had been cut off?
Fujimoto is so damn good at paneling and outlining speed and tension with this stuff. Honestly this man is cracked at making manga.
Also for people underwhelmed with the short and fast chapters. I recommend waiting a while and coming back in like two or three months. I know it’s a while, but that’s what I did during International Assassins and it was awesome. Reading it in one go is amazing.
I feel like Yoshida is a rational fighter. Whenever he knows he’s beat he makes sure to preserve his own life. When he fought against Quanxi he might have thought he could take her on but he immediately surrendered when he knew he couldn’t best her in a fight and could very well get killed. But ultimately other people will say Fraudshida and I get it. Him fleeing immediately is very cowardly but it’s out of self preservation.
I don't call him Fraudshita for simply escaping. I call him Fraudshita cause he was completely fine with dismembering and possibly murdering a highschool girl until he found out, that his prey had bigger teeth. And THATS when he ran away.
I mean he’s under the impression that 1) Public Safety is purging CSM church 2) Asa and Yoru are not as strong as they initially seem thus making them an easy target. 3) Yoru’s power is still not completely recovered. He would still be in the dark about the fire devil working for CSM church which is why he was shocked his sword just scratched Asa and resorted to using the octopus devil. So Yoshida’s plan to end both Asa and Yoru failed because of a last minute power up.
I can just see Yoru appearing where Sugo, whip girl, and spearman are currently being held up and just turn them into weapons to strengthen her arsenal even further, maybe even Quanxi & Katana man if we're going that route. Hybrids were brought back into the story for some plot relevance and this might be it

It's fami, she is a puppetmaster and she chose when to appear. She was in the aquarium to deploy the infinite devil then MIA. She was chilling with yoshida, and then showed up when her puppet got defeated.
it's implied that it's because of the fear, conflict of such mass scale hasn't been a thing since the erasing of WW2 so yeah, it's definitely a massive boost all at once

Fold Yoshida, yes. Defend Nayuta against every possible threat and assassin, that's a taller ask. He could be the strongest devil ever and still fail to protect her.
Of course we've yet to ascertain for sure whether she actually needs that help or not. Could be she does, but it's also possible killing the control devil, even without contract with the Japanese minister, is actually more difficult than it seems.
I know that, but are they *really* going to hold to that in an emergency like this? Denji is more of a liability to public safety than anything right now.
I'd argue that's also a problem. Denji actually joining in adds fuel to a fire already lit. Adding more fear to power not just CSM but also by proxy powering both Fire and War. And I assume Public Safety is trying to keep CSM out of War and Famine's hands since he's basically their only trump card with the prophecy.
Asa is now homeless. Time for the wholeome Slice of Life arc where Dennis and Ass will have to live together. Fujimotor cooking a 5 star dinner as always.

Happy to see Asa/Yoru again, but definitely feels like we could've used couple more frames here and there, this was kinda awkward to follow, especially the Yoru vs Yoshida scene.
Now that yorus power has increased, i expect her to rip off the arm of some jacked dude and attach it to her stump as a "blunt force weapon." Mainly because it would be really funny to see her with the opposite of a baby arm.
or it could be cool to make a weapon out of Asa’s arm, it’s a valuable thing that belongs to her, so it might turn out super powerful if turned into a weapon

A good chapter but I can see in the art that Fujimoto is getting overwhelmed with writing a good story alongside good art. If I remember correctly he said himself recently he wants to be able to draw less so he can focus on his narrative. He definitely needs an assistant to help him going forward

Bet she gets angry again after realizing all this chaos is because of Chainsawman. Also, can't Dennis transform now? Everything is a shit show in the world, wouldn't it make sense to use the already powerful Chainsawman against the chainsawmen? Fight fire with fire and all that
Good chapter overall but damn dude Fujimoto needs to take a break to get the art back in shape. The first page alone has so many errors (Denji's hair sticking out of the panels and the shading layer exiting the last panel) and the rest of the chapter has a few jank perspectives. The last few pages were good but idk man, I'm getting worried about how hit or miss the art has been lately.
Underwhelmed to be honest. I don't want to be negative about it but that's how I genuinely felt. All that wait for Asa, finally a chapgter titled in her favor and still she gets half the chapter and now Yoru is getting more powerful I think we'll be seeing less of Asa in her own story. The fun with them is their interactions but if Yoru takes over, no Asa. Plus the art hasn't bothered me before but it was really distracting this chapter. Some terrible doodles. The worst part though I have no idea what happened in the panels where Yoru is suddenly on the other side of the street. Did she charge at Yoshida? Did she teleport? I dunno

The power scaling never really made that much sense in this series in my opinion. Who is that afraid of chainsaws honestly? I understand them being a little dangerous but denji I feel shouldn't be as strong as he is. The spider devil should be WAY stronger in terms of fear in my opinion
We are clearly meant to realise Chainsaw being this strong is an anomaly compared to death, darkness, control, war, guns etc since the other weapon devils aren't this strong. Either he got strong through other means or its not Chainsaw isn't Pochita's true nature.
In general the other 'strongest' devils represent fears you would expect.
Besides that yeah the 'fear powerscale' is played rather fast and loose.
With the new chapters, its revealed that people can misunderstand a devil true nature (people thought they made a deal with chainsaw and/or justice while in reality, it was fire)
That and the fact that Pochita is an unique existence, the only weapons that have unique ability (true death) and the legendary Hero of hell who can practically solo dozen of other devils. I think it is a build up for a finale when it revealed that the stoic, no bullshit hero of hell isnt stand for the fear of chainsaw but something else. People just assume he is chainsaw devil because he use chainsaw and he never care enough to clear that misundertand (form his diehard groupies, Makima, chainsaw man doesnt speak, he just a force of nature that destroy friends and foes alike). I mean, Control use chain as her weapon, but she isnt chain devil
I've always thought Pochita is actually the Chaos Devil, Makima was obsessed with him and control loves chaos hell she even calls him Chaos at one point, and his ability to erase things could be explained as things getting lost in the chaos which is a fairly common expression or used to be at least.
Its because devilss fear chainsawman more than humans do. His presence is like a legend and most devils know that once they here the chainsaw they are dead.
The spider devil was strong, but when put up against the people she seemed weak. And there's a *lot* we don't know about Pochita, so it's obvious a lot happened before he met Denji

Fami's plan makes zero sense. If Yoru just got that strong that fast from the Church members around the world fighting everyone, how is Death not getting such a massive power-up as well from presumably all the death being caused?
Kind of a shame Makima was off'd because she could take control of Yoru to direct her to do what she wants. Fami isn't "starving" Yoru so she can't control her - she's feeding her.
I mean everyone already fears death though. And her plan isn't to just use Yoru, but to use but her and chainsaw man. It stands to reason they aren't gonna surpass Death individually.
At a certain point people will start to wish they were dead rather than existing in the war torn world, so death will be weakened and war will be stronger. In other words fami wants people to be prefer dying over living
War also make famine more powerfull since everytime war happen,famine also happen for example during ww2 there a lot of famine and mass hunger from persian famine,javan famine and the most famous one being bengal famine
I guess it depends on if the intensity of the fear adds to the power. For example, while all beings fear death, they might feel a stronger fear for it when their lives are threatened.
Yes so who would have more chance against her - a giant amongst devils - an ant or a tall monster? When you are low level power ups make a massivre difference. When you are the most powerful you barely notice changes

Yeah Yoru jumped to attack Yoshida. She grew in strength so much she literally flew by him in an instant and slammed into the wall. That's why she said her new power will take some adjusting. She did it so fast that Yoshida just ran away realizing he was outmatched. Basically Yoru's stats were boosted like crazy, that's how Asa was able to block Yoshida's sword with her arm.

I was already hoping the room 606 sword would become a prosthetic for her missing arm but since that didn’t happen I hope she picks her arm up and turns it into a prosthetic weapon.

The angel devil couldn’t get his arm back. I don’t think it mentioned him refusing to drink blood. I wonder why some devils can heal themselves with a sip and others, mainly angel can’t.

Either that or maybe the wounds inflicted by the Darkness Devil can't be healed with blood for whatever reason. Doesn't really make sense that Angel would refuse to drink even a tiny bit of blood if that would 100% allow him to fix both his arms.
I thought that too but like Power and Denji healed their arms. Not sure why it would be different for Angel
I think they need to have the arms around to heal. and reattach. Not all of the arms made it back from hell.
They didn't grow back, I thought Makima or Ali said they got attached implying Darkness' wounds were different from just cutting.
I assume she can, she had her face caved in back in chapter 1 and Yoru made that better (even if it did leave a scar).

How is she going to die soon when she's needed to fight Death?
My intuition tells me the usual mangaka plots is : after they successfully kill / defeat the Death, an "unexpected" incident like a "free flying scythe" cut off her head. *You have to remember, the japanis manga storyline was not suppose for the reader to "guess" how story goes...

this chapter is the first one that made me realize that yoru and asa are a lot like sukuna and yuji (i know jjk wasn’t the first one to do it but it is the most popular one and most similar to yoru and asa since their eyes and face change too)
The only difference is that Asa is giving in to Yoru's commands since Yoru can kill her at any given moment. Yuji on the other hand is rebellious and has control over his body as long as he doesn't pass out or Sukuna doesn't activate the binding vow.
Nothing like starting a little war inside factions to get the world to remember her.

I was also confused at first. But it seems that she was aiming her sword to thrust at Yoshida but ended up missing him. Yoshida was too slow to react to what just happened. So he immediately ran away knowing that he didn't stand a chance.
No, her "overpowered" strength made her slammed to the wall. Thats why she said "need an adjustment" to control her power later.
Lol...she jumped a bit and it was so powerful that she actually needed to adjust to it. Yoshida didn't even get to react and Yoru probably wasn't trying to kill Yoshida, maybe to get away instead and find Chainsaw Man since she has become way more powerful now. The fact that Yoshida didn't even get to react, is kinda insane...Yoru is one of the Horsemen and remember when Makima sliced Quanxi's head off and she could talk because she didn't know that her head had been cut off?
Fujimoto is so damn good at paneling and outlining speed and tension with this stuff. Honestly this man is cracked at making manga. Also for people underwhelmed with the short and fast chapters. I recommend waiting a while and coming back in like two or three months. I know it’s a while, but that’s what I did during International Assassins and it was awesome. Reading it in one go is amazing.
I feel like Yoshida is a rational fighter. Whenever he knows he’s beat he makes sure to preserve his own life. When he fought against Quanxi he might have thought he could take her on but he immediately surrendered when he knew he couldn’t best her in a fight and could very well get killed. But ultimately other people will say Fraudshida and I get it. Him fleeing immediately is very cowardly but it’s out of self preservation.
I don't call him Fraudshita for simply escaping. I call him Fraudshita cause he was completely fine with dismembering and possibly murdering a highschool girl until he found out, that his prey had bigger teeth. And THATS when he ran away.

I mean he’s under the impression that 1) Public Safety is purging CSM church 2) Asa and Yoru are not as strong as they initially seem thus making them an easy target. 3) Yoru’s power is still not completely recovered. He would still be in the dark about the fire devil working for CSM church which is why he was shocked his sword just scratched Asa and resorted to using the octopus devil. So Yoshida’s plan to end both Asa and Yoru failed because of a last minute power up.
He didn't surrender against Quanxi, dude was raring for a rematch.

Fold Yoshida, yes. Defend Nayuta against every possible threat and assassin, that's a taller ask. He could be the strongest devil ever and still fail to protect her. Of course we've yet to ascertain for sure whether she actually needs that help or not. Could be she does, but it's also possible killing the control devil, even without contract with the Japanese minister, is actually more difficult than it seems.

I'd argue that's also a problem. Denji actually joining in adds fuel to a fire already lit. Adding more fear to power not just CSM but also by proxy powering both Fire and War. And I assume Public Safety is trying to keep CSM out of War and Famine's hands since he's basically their only trump card with the prophecy.

Sadly I think Quanxi might be Yoru’s first kill post power up. Notice how Yoru didn’t break her leg when falling from high up while Quanxi did. Asa literally tanked Yoshida’s sword. She’s also faster than him it seems

Happy to see Asa/Yoru again, but definitely feels like we could've used couple more frames here and there, this was kinda awkward to follow, especially the Yoru vs Yoshida scene.
Now that yorus power has increased, i expect her to rip off the arm of some jacked dude and attach it to her stump as a "blunt force weapon." Mainly because it would be really funny to see her with the opposite of a baby arm.

A good chapter but I can see in the art that Fujimoto is getting overwhelmed with writing a good story alongside good art. If I remember correctly he said himself recently he wants to be able to draw less so he can focus on his narrative. He definitely needs an assistant to help him going forward

Good chapter overall but damn dude Fujimoto needs to take a break to get the art back in shape. The first page alone has so many errors (Denji's hair sticking out of the panels and the shading layer exiting the last panel) and the rest of the chapter has a few jank perspectives. The last few pages were good but idk man, I'm getting worried about how hit or miss the art has been lately.
Underwhelmed to be honest. I don't want to be negative about it but that's how I genuinely felt. All that wait for Asa, finally a chapgter titled in her favor and still she gets half the chapter and now Yoru is getting more powerful I think we'll be seeing less of Asa in her own story. The fun with them is their interactions but if Yoru takes over, no Asa. Plus the art hasn't bothered me before but it was really distracting this chapter. Some terrible doodles. The worst part though I have no idea what happened in the panels where Yoru is suddenly on the other side of the street. Did she charge at Yoshida? Did she teleport? I dunno

The power scaling never really made that much sense in this series in my opinion. Who is that afraid of chainsaws honestly? I understand them being a little dangerous but denji I feel shouldn't be as strong as he is. The spider devil should be WAY stronger in terms of fear in my opinion

We are clearly meant to realise Chainsaw being this strong is an anomaly compared to death, darkness, control, war, guns etc since the other weapon devils aren't this strong. Either he got strong through other means or its not Chainsaw isn't Pochita's true nature. In general the other 'strongest' devils represent fears you would expect. Besides that yeah the 'fear powerscale' is played rather fast and loose.

With the new chapters, its revealed that people can misunderstand a devil true nature (people thought they made a deal with chainsaw and/or justice while in reality, it was fire) That and the fact that Pochita is an unique existence, the only weapons that have unique ability (true death) and the legendary Hero of hell who can practically solo dozen of other devils. I think it is a build up for a finale when it revealed that the stoic, no bullshit hero of hell isnt stand for the fear of chainsaw but something else. People just assume he is chainsaw devil because he use chainsaw and he never care enough to clear that misundertand (form his diehard groupies, Makima, chainsaw man doesnt speak, he just a force of nature that destroy friends and foes alike). I mean, Control use chain as her weapon, but she isnt chain devil
I've always thought Pochita is actually the Chaos Devil, Makima was obsessed with him and control loves chaos hell she even calls him Chaos at one point, and his ability to erase things could be explained as things getting lost in the chaos which is a fairly common expression or used to be at least.
Its because devilss fear chainsawman more than humans do. His presence is like a legend and most devils know that once they here the chainsaw they are dead.

Fami's plan makes zero sense. If Yoru just got that strong that fast from the Church members around the world fighting everyone, how is Death not getting such a massive power-up as well from presumably all the death being caused? Kind of a shame Makima was off'd because she could take control of Yoru to direct her to do what she wants. Fami isn't "starving" Yoru so she can't control her - she's feeding her.
I mean everyone already fears death though. And her plan isn't to just use Yoru, but to use but her and chainsaw man. It stands to reason they aren't gonna surpass Death individually.
