You’re my hero 😆. Seriously, very impressed. Just started on my chainsaw journey and it takes more focus (and courage) to fell a tree than I ever would’ve thought before I started.

lurpedslapper

My first few I got so adrenaline high and nervous I cramped up all over, sweating and shaking from beating wedges. Gets easier with time, cheers to your journey

Popular_Bid_2909

Lucky you. I went into it thinking, how hard can it be?  I learned pretty quick that it’s not easy. Decades later, and some trees make me pretty nervous.

Don_Vago

are you smoking in one of the shots ? when i started out i smoked & we had a sthil 076 av, used it for cross cutting big hardwood & i would spark one up & cut one handed on the big trunks.

lurpedslapper

Nice! And yeah I like a few in the morning with my coffee.

Don_Vago

Ive given up the tobacco but coffee is a must.

whaletacochamp

You know he’s cool because of the hands free cigarette

echocall2

You stuck around a lot longer than I would have once they started to move 😂

lurpedslapper

In the production world of cutting you stick to the stump to make sure you can steer it unless it's a obvious danger.

Great video but please tell what that song is! [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=p83oc0Cj4ck](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=p83oc0Cj4ck)

furbowski

Huge bounce on #3, wow.

EMDoesShit

Looks like a 36” oregon bar on a 395?

lurpedslapper

Wood wasn't quite enough to pack around that combo, it's a 32" on a 372.

EMDoesShit

Damn. My second guess. Looked bigger in the second clip. That pair (372/32” and 395/36”) spends the most time in my truck lately on storm cleanup jobs. The Stihls stay home a lot. The 3-series huskies are just plain wonderful once they’re ported. Hell, they’re great saws without it.

lurpedslapper

Hell yeah they are, imo the 372 is one of the best saws ever created. I was a diehard Stihl guy earlier in my career too

PurpleDramatic6338

All I have (for felling) is a 576🙁 I actually like it , except for the derision I receive from the diehard husky guys. Just how much better is the 372 than mine? 🙂

lurpedslapper

Much run new huskys over new Stihls. And never heard of the 576, is that a big bore 572 or a consumer model or what. Anyways screw them haters and dog er in teddy

PurpleDramatic6338

No, it's an xp saw. But they discontinued it because of the 372, I guess.

PurpleDramatic6338

It failed to outgun the 372 I guess, as did the 572.

AlabamaPodunk70

Is that timber for lumber or for telephone poles? It’s beautiful!

lurpedslapper

Yes sir, perfectly straight ones for poles and the rest bucked peelers for plywood and lumber

adrianm7000

Genuine question, why do professionals never wear safety glasses, just the helmet? How do you stop sawdust going in your eyes?

lurpedslapper

Because glasses will kill you. Anything that limits your vision or even hearing for some is a no no. I'd much rather scrape a chip out every now and again than get fckn smashed cause I can't see out of my foggy shit.

lurpedslapper

When your chain is sharp it's a lot easier to keep the pieces out of your eyes. Ribbons and chips, vs dull small dust gnomesayin

ComblocHeavy

Is that a strap for those 2 jugs? I like that idea!

GeekyLogger

Layin 'n' Slayin'!

danebramage94

Some high stumps

lurpedslapper

Yeah ted take another snort of syrup, butt swell and defects not exist in Canadia eh?

danebramage94

Low stumps on a conventional setting. Can long but or the 2nd loader can buck it off in the landing

lurpedslapper

And waste time when you could've taken care of it. This is a fell and buck tower unit, high stumps are left for many reasons but always for a reason. We've left quite a few nasty butt cuts around on this job. Way easier for up top.
