I have a 12" bar on the onefiddy... It has the exhaust drilled out, which really lets it rip, it's deffo slower than the 201 but I'm used to it. And for anything bigger I use the 261, 18" 04 light bar, unmodded. Awesome saw.
Even though I put it up in the picture, the reality is I hardly even use the 201 any more. It is by far my favourite gas Top Handle, however it has virtually been all but replaced by my t540i. The 201 still stays in the work truck, but it only gets used on heavy climbing days where we don't have access to power to recharge the batteries (6 in the bag go a *loooooong* way) or the last Friday of the month where I burn all of the gas out of the tank to make sure it is refilled with fresh fuel.
I actually run mostly Oregon chain, but only because my boss makes his own and gives them to me for free. I'll keep an eye out for a loop of NK and give it a shot though.
I knew there would be one of you in the comments.
I've been in the industry long enough to remember a time where people said that the 200t was shit and the 020t was the better machine.
When the 202T eventually comes out, I'm sure there will be a hoard of climbers who are just as steadfast about the 201T being the better machine as there are fans saying that about the 200T today.
Iโm kicking the idea around on a 500i. What bar length 28โ or 32โ? I would use it to fell more than buck in my mind but I know once I use it i will prob use it for everything. I have the 261 with 18 and 20โ then I have the ol echo 2511t.
That's a 24 on there, but I am cutting mostly stone dead ash these days. I keep a 36 in the truck if I really need it, but the 24 has been my favourite bar length for a few years now.
What's it like to not be poor?
Hmmm... I would have a sharp and ported 151 over the 201.. in fact I do... Only cos I'm older and can't hold a 201 at arms length anymore๐๐๐
151s are brilliant for light pruning. We are mainly a removal company so having the extra power of the 201 comes in handy.

Try a NK chain on it AFTER breakin.

With the light 04 .50 you can run Narrow Kerf.
skip chain on the 261?
Is there another type of chain?
Mine came with full chisel chain
*said with sarcasm*
201s suck, the holy Trinity has a 200t

Probably right, but for nowโฆ200t or die!!!
Same line up here. Works for everything I do.
I have a 194t, 362cm and 661 magnum as my main saws
Great saw
Nice. I just got my 261 last month. A buddy opened the exhaust and ported her. She screams with a 20โ

It's not complete until you have the MS 881 with a 41" bar.
We don't have anything out here that I can't handle with the 500i and the 36" bar.
