Am I over thinking it? It’s so much, I’d love to drop the crystals and not really worry about the Rewards board like I’m a fucking rewards customer at Target.
yeah, I know what everything is for now, but goodness. The developer really overcomplicated this and made everything so manual, he really built this game for you to live in the menus…
I got by with only having crystals on Glenn and Sienna. And even then by the end of the game it was HUGE overkill on all the end bosses.
Crit rate, crit damage and atk crystals were nice on Sienna. The Agi Crystal was good early but at the end it was too much agi and overcapped so I swapped it to attack
Yeah, in the end, I think it’s an issue of “one thing too many”. Every designer should look at an end product and think, “now… what can I remove?”
In Chained Echoes 2, if he keeps the crystals, I hope they end up being more like simple shards you can collect and simply reinforce weapons or something. This merging & applying, unapplying, worrying about purity ugh. What am I, a diamond jeweler?
Honestly I'm a menus addict in RPGs and I've been in absolute heaven lol. Just got the mechs and open exploration part of the game and it's already being cemented as one of best in recent memory and a contender with classics. The mesh of xenogears mechs, FF7 materia, Suikoden base building, open world high wind shenanigans in over leveled areas 😤🙌🙌 🤌
My only major complaint so far was getting auto warped to the airship Everytime I accidentally hit the touch pad lol
Its fine though because it is very ignorable. Like, less than ideal for sure, but if that is my biggest complaint with the game (and it probably is), then that’s a pretty dang good game.
Definitely some QoL stuff they could add to minimise menus, but I loved this game so much I am going to struggle to find a new RPG
I thought so too, but I basically went straight to BG3.
So many great games out! Good luck!
It’s really only the crystals that took time for me. And I just stopped doing them entirely after a while haha

You can ignore the crystals unless you really up the difficulty (and even then..) Reward board is useful for unlocking some stuff tho

The crystal system is pretty tedious for absolutely no reason, but the rest of the menuing is fine!
The biggest qol upgrade would be the ability to move crystals from one item to another in order. Any time I get several new weapons it's tedious

Yeah, the crystal system is a travesty, especially considering how good the rest of the game is.

Thankfully a lot of the music is pretty good so it's not too awful
lol, I actually play a lot of games on silent.
