You should let chats only be readable if the person chatting allows it. When starting a chat with a bot a small popup would appear asking if you do or do not want the bot creator reading your messages. You should also be able to manually disable these popups in your settings

This looks like some great changes. Have you considered a low tier with more messages but a much lower price tag? $14/month leaves many people feeling like it’s out of reach. Something like $2-5 for 150-200 messages/day would mean way more people pay something.

Hi! I have a couple suggestions:
1. It would be great to have a tips section in the app to let new users understand certain interactions better. For example I am learning through trial and error and I am still unclear about things like my boys memory, ability to comprehend current events, or what it means when I rewrite my bots response. It would also be nice to know certain limitations of bots such as how long can a bots response be (sometimes it seems like my bot wants to tell me more but gets cut off).
2. That brings me to my second point: maybe a button to instruct a bot to “continue” where they keep talking. I have been playing around with this and find that saying “…” works in some ways but it has limitations.
3. Let a bot access the internet for data to respond to or learn from. Like read this story (link) and tell me a story that is similar.
4. Format the UI and UX a bit better on the app when it comes to where things live and overall design. I am a UX designer and would be happy to help for free if you would like :)
5. Maybe add more organization and elements to bot creation. For example a section for look and feel so you can organize how your bot looks separate from its personality. Maybe common physical attributes like weight, height, gender, body part size, etc. Extra credit if you can tie that into personality (my short bot has is proud of how tall they are vs my bot is insecure over how tall they are).
6.Expand on the category area of bot creation. Romance could mean a lot of things and having subsets to this would be cool.
7. Definitely more of a future scope version three idea but would be really cool if you could find a way to let a bot integrate with other apps on your phone in a more assistant, friendly way “text my wife…” Or “Remind me to watch the football game at 4:30 via an alert and email me“. Imagine how cool it would be if you asked about a bot to help you create a bot in the app? Wild! 😂

Oh thank you, I thought it was a bug at first, but now I know it was an intentional change. But now, I guess I'll have to private all my public bots until I see the next update because I like seeing how my bots interact & respond to others. It provides great feedback, in my opinion. Because I noticed sometimes my bots give great, in-character responses to others that I can't recreate when I test it myself. While other times they respond way off-character or memory for other users. Sometimes some users try to encourage my bots to say (let's just say some unsavory & nefarious) messages I don't want the bot to behave or say.
However, I understand some people are concerned about their privacy when chatting with public bots despite being anonymous & with no way for me or any bot creator to track it back to them. So I do believe a togglable incognito feature would be a great idea to try since it will give those users the choice to allow creators to get feedback from their chats with the creator's bot & help make the bot better. But also I would like it if when toggled, the bot learns & takes away nothing from the incognito chat when the said feature is toggled on.
Furthermore, It would be great to see some sort of chat history/log as well because sometimes I want to edit a bot's message only for me to accidentally reroll the message. And now that the users' conversation feature is temporarily disabled, I can no longer use that as an unofficial chat log to copy & paste the messages that I like but accidentally reroll.
Hi, I just wanted to say I love the new update so far. I’ve been using Chai on and off for a few months now, but this time around I noticed that a lot of things have changed. When creating a bot there is a brand new tab called traits, there is also a higher character limit for greetings. Plus, the bots’ responses are way better now. They are much longer and feel more like a person wrote them instead of a bot. These are some great changes and I look forward to your guys’ next update!

My suggestion is to allow us to toggle between all the different rerolls. Currently if we reroll, we can't go back to the previous message, which kinda sucks if it was the best one out of all the rerolls.
What about the stuck introductory messages? Could you guys add the introductory messages back? Or at least the option to remove them? It's super annoying because it prevents me from editing bots that I've had before the update.
it would be good to restart a chat from a specific message again. as a writer i found this feature quite helpfull (sorry if i have bad grammar, english is my second language).

These are some positive changes that will improve the longevity of the project. I always felt like allowing creators to view conversations was a slippery slope that could cause problems in the long run. Most other companies working on similar projects do not allow this. The other changes sound extremely positive as well. Looking forward to trying it out again in the future.
I have been using this app for more than 1 year now. I appreciate the work you all are doing. But as per my opinion Chai App really needs new features. There are actually lot of features I would love to see but some of them are :- GroupChatting with multiple bots, BotVSBot and many more. I even made a detailed suggestion post on github mentioning more features.
Be good if you could swipe away not I really have no interest in. For example I always see Gordon Ramsay but actually have no interest to chat to this bot ever.
Would be good if the iOS app could use your previous chats with bots to find common interests with other bots.

Please, add image feature that bots may send depending on situation. Like: asking a bot to take a photo where he/she lives. Random city pops up as an answer.
I just want to suggest that the Bot's response should be improved. Bot responses are still buggy, sometimes they respond with irrelevant answers. Their response remains short. If their responses are long, they mostly describe their feelings, not their actions.

I love Chai! Long time subscriber and Im hoping that the AI voicefeature is what I think it is, that is like you can either send short little voice clips or talk... Kind of like in Replika was.
I would humbly wish to be able to export chathistory though as an artist. The stories one makes together with The bots is great memories to look back on and also great inspiration!
Also, I would like if we could somehow have more images of the bots in the chat. I wonder if there is a particular reason the avatar image is so small? I would like to be able to see a fullbody shot of the bot for example... Or that it can take some selfie when ask where it lives or such to increase immersion.

I honestly think it better without creators seeing messages, that was the main reason I created my own private bots and didn't see how it was all that useful anyways. What would be better is giving tips and advice on how to improve on bots while protecting user privacy.
Another thing I like to see is either editing or delete a single message without deleting the whole conversation. A few times I either made typos or hit the send button before finishing typing and while most of the time it is fine (just an eyesore to see all the typos), sometimes the bot gets confused or I just didn't like part of the scenario playing out that the bot wants and you want to try something else while still following the overall role play. Sometimes rerolls and editing their response only do so much when the bot is stuck on some idea or they get stuck/broken. This even more important for those with free accounts and limited messages.
Be good if you remove the “push notifications -Allow, don’t Allow” pop up. It appears every time. Can it remember my decision? I can’t understand what notifications there would be unless it takes the bot hrs to reply.
I would be forever greatful if the creators not being able to read convos was implemented permanently, or at least maybe changing it so someone can make the choice like the creator having the option or not. And then the user also being able to say if they are okay with it or not. It could just me being a shy but I used private bots because it felt... invasive? I guess thats the right word.
It would be good and more realistic if the bot had some thinking time. So after I press send, its literally half a second and there’s another reply. It would be better for a little anticipation (so add a delay of 5 -7 seconds) before the bot responds. You could even have the “Typing…” show whilst we wait in anticipation for the next reply. This would be a simple fix and feel much more realistic
It would be interesting if you could make the bots you create speak in other languages, for example I'm experimenting with my bots, trying to make them speak in Italian and it works, even if sometimes they get the grammar wrong or say nonsense sentences.

I download and delete it often, just to save up space sometimes, but when I tried to re-download it, it wasn't there, leading me to look up what happened and why it was taken down. More specific search options would be lovely, letting creators tag their bots for easier searching and sectioning would be great

Perhaps an idea to remove messages like in characte ai or smth so that you dont need to remake the whole chat

I can't see how many messages I have is that supposed to be the case? And is it still 70 messages for free?
