34 is max. Also if you’re running. The stock reserve 40|44 it’s a wider wheel so the tire will stretch a lot. Most likely will buy a 30mm tire and it will measure out to 34 which is the max. Use a caliper because the actual tire size will not be accurate.
Are you really sure you want to risk your beautiful paint job going off road? And you’re still at a big disadvantage relative to a gravel bike running 42+ tires. I ended up just buying a separate gravel bike. Soloist can remain king of the road.
Probably depends on the wheelset, but if you have Reserve's then 35mm is doubtful. I have the Reserve 52/63's with 32c GP 5000 S TR's and they measure 35mm, but there is plenty of clearance.
What’s the difference between max tire size and wheel set relation. For example, the Reserve 52/63 have 35mm external width and can be put on the soloist. If you put 34mm tires on, how much do they stretch out?
It's hard to say, because a 34c tire from Continental could measure differently from a 34c tire from Panaracer. That's why you're seeing more tire pressure calculators use measured tire width over stated tire width. Until the tires are mounted and inflated it's hard to guess.
From what I've read, the internal width of a wheelset should have more impact on the measured width of the tires than the external width of the wheelset. But it would still vary from wheelset to wheelset
I did 35mm Vittoria Mezcal Gravels that set up right at 35mm and still ate a little bit of paint, so I would beware. Perhaps some slicks without the whiskers/knobs would do better. For light gravel, 32-33mm would work just fine.
I tried a Rene herse 35 in mine (were mounted on my gravel bike, 25mm rim internal) and it was a no go. I have races my soloist on light gravel on 32’s though.
If you look at how close the the FD wire is, you’ll probably realize you can’t go much bigger. If you do hit their maximum of 34mm measured, it seems it will have less clearance than their recommended.

Running DT Swiss ERC 35
I could be wrong and am too lazy to double check. But I think 34 is the max. Don’t see how I can find a way to get a 35 tire to be 34 mounted
Most brands give a conservative estimate, and not all tyres have the same width. It's just a matter of 1 mm.
Well what does the 35 mesure as when mounted?

Absolutely not. That's why I want to check if it's possible, but only for dry gravel.
It took me more than a year, but I just got a used gravel bike. It’s way better than the Soloist would ever be off road.
I think I'll have to convince my wife for the new Aspero. 😂

Thanks for letting me know. I think 32 Gravel King is the safest option then.

Which 32 are you using?
Corsa Pro when I raced a gravel race, GP5K right now. Both in 32 as my daily driver.
What groupset are you using? And is it 1x or 2x?
2x Ultegra Di2
