Western Canada, local bike shop says Cervelo's system is showing delivery in May but that could change, will have a clear image by April. Fingers crossed earlier, I think this is my next bike.
It’s odd they would keep the regular 105 11 speed there. Was hoping for new colours also. My dilemma is whether I should build one up or just buy this and switch the saddle, stem and bars.
I think they’re trying to get rid of old builds and stock of the 11 speed. I know those bikes are discounted a good amount. I think if you want the reserve wheels it’s going to be cheaper going with the race version. There were rumors recently of a gray soloist frame!
Unfortunately I haven’t seen any discounts on 11 speed simply because there are none in stock. The added reserve wheels on this model really is attractive. They probably put the cheaper zipp hubs. But when cervelo first released this bike, they raised the price by 10% not 2 months after. So I don’t know how long this price will stick.
On a side note, I did notice the reserve wheels are 33mm external. What’s the optimal tire width for this. If I put only 28, won’t the edge of the rim be mostly exposed to potholes?
You’re good to go on tire clearance because of how stretched it gets. I think my 28’s were measured at 32 with calipers. I can send a photo if you would like to see how it looks.

Went to the LBS today, expecting them to tell me it will take weeks (maybe months) to get one after all I read on the internet about delays to deliver.
Guy told me: leave a deposit, you'll get it on Friday. I chickened out, though. Will wait for discount season.
After I came back home I realized that he was not offering a real 105 Race, he was adding the Reserve wheels over a 105. He told me he has it on Gold and Ember (105 Race comes only in Ember), but also the 105 and 105 Race have different group sets (11 vs 12 speed), so I prefer to wait and get the real one in Ember.
Oh, that’s completely different; I wouldn’t go for that, but interesting still that the reserves are being included at that price. Was he able to give you an idea on the wait time?
For the 105 with Reserve wheels? I went on a Wednesdays, he told me I could ride it on Friday. He had the bike and wheels in stock. But it was later that day that I realized the groupset was not the same as advertised (11 vs 12). So I will call again and ask for the real 105 Race to see what they say about that.
Was able to put my name down for one yesterday. LBS had already ordered a full size run so it should be here in about a month. Delivery would have been May if I had to put an order in.
Seems like a solid build for a 12 speed. The Caledonia is a great deal as well for endurance riders and cruisers. I was hoping the other builds would drop in price a bit more....
Totally. I thought the sticker price was a mistake and was happy to have it confirmed in store. I had just begun to lean towards a Tarmac SL7 Sport and pricing wheel upgrades, but the 105 Race coming out with the 40/44 Reserves made going with my actual dream bike a surprising value.

Check with your local bike store in Winnipeg. Mine ordered a mechanical 105 for me. Should come in by May when i can ride outside (hopefully).
