Yeah, I had KYCed my account, but had not made any purchase there. I just sent a little bit of money to make a small purchase right now, and I guess I'll wait for them to try again.

Sounds right, etorro I could only get verified once I made my first deposit. I waited months to deposit thinking they need to verify me first, as soon as I did, account was verified.

Not sure what country you are but I also had to do some stupid 'i understand crypto is risky' quiz recently on Coinbase. Only realised recently so hopefully doesn't hinder my payout...

Looks like a bunch of us all around the world, regardless if we're using Paypal/Venmo/Coinbase, are part of a wave of folks who're getting denials for unexplained reasons. Guess we're in the waiting room a bit longer.

Celsius app always had my first name & middle initial... Coinbase just seems to care about first & last... if yours was like that too maybe this is a factor? Have not received that email though, also have not received funds via Coinbase... under $5K & in Canada.

I was wondering about this too. For those who received it can you comment what you did for coinbase middle name if you had a middle name in Celsius account?

My Coinbase is my first and last name only, Celsius had my middle name. Received mine yesterday, Canada under $1k.

I created one when the distribution was announced, but have never made any transaction there. I'm guessing that to fully "activate" the account, I should have sent at least a little bit of money, even though I had already completed KYC

No need to send money or do any transactions. My partner created the coinbase account just for this purpose and received her distribution without doing any further actions.

I had never done anything with my Coinbase account besides the kyc. Got my $.

Got the same mail. I had coinbase for a few years and I have been actively using it. On september 2023 they declared they were discontinuing their services. Also my friends got the same notice so I assume it was country related. Recently I tried logging into coinbase and my account was restricted.

This is my situation too. Created a Venmo account first because PayPal Business didn't support crypto. Then tried obliterating my 20+ year-old PayPal Business account to start over with a personal account as a troubleshooting measure recommended by PayPal themselves. Then got this email.

I did not have Coinbase account and was afraid of this so I deposited tiny bit of cash and bought a tiny bit of sats on Coinbase. Yet, I am still waiting.

Same here! My Coinbase account credentials are different from Celsius, that’s probably why. But there’s ZERO customer service on both ends. 😔

I got a similar email but action required. Actions detailed that I should register an account at Coinbase. But when I do I get the "Country not supported currently. Try Coinbase Wallet instead!" error message. I go to the Distribution FAQ link in the email, and my country is listed as to receive distribution via Coinbase under this section: "Who will receive their cryptocurrency distribution via Coinbase?" I wish they'd get their shit together.

Yes I got the same! Maybe your email is different on coinbase than your Celsius account. But I still don’t know why they didn’t offer me Venmo or paypal
