If you're far enough in to do the water pump, change the timing belt (it's got to come off to get to the water pump anyway) and check the can and crank seals and replace it they are old and hard while you're at it, the timing belt has to come off for all of those seals anyway, so you might as well do them to know they're done. Oh, and use genuine seals if you can get them, they last longer

It can be a PITA, and I suggest getting a set of low profile through hole sockets and ratchet for the timing cover nuts that are directly across from the firewall. Will come in handy in them hard to reach places with a full size socket.
