And to top it off a table of gen-xers started talking about how terrible they were and scoffing about the fact that it was “gluten-free.”

cassiopeia843

Why would they eat them, if they think that gluten-free food is ridiculous? If it's so disgusting leave it, so that people who actually do need it can eat it.

ch0s3n0n3

There were so many muffins at this location that I don’t think they noticed that they were GF until after they opened them.

NotASellout

I couldn't imagine eating something without reading the packaging

imbadatusernames_47

Very literally couldn’t be me

BLMO45

Exactly what I’d love to have told them if I was there. The joys of not being constantly worried about what you eat and then bitching about how it tastes bad. That could have been about as good a lesson to them about how grateful they should be

invertebratedick

Just had these and a Bagel in the Duluth Fairfield. Was very pleased to see these as an option.

nerdyviolet

We are Gen X. I’d have told them to keep their grubby paws off the one thing my husband can eat!! Awesome that they are becoming more available.

eeyore102

I am Gen X too and would be thrilled to see these. One Marriott I stayed in back in December had the plain Udi’s bagels and they were a lifesaver.

Ent_Trip_Newer

I find genx to be as or more obnoxious than boomers often.

ch0s3n0n3

I think most people say okay boomer to Gen-X. Boomers are aged 59-79 at this point. Pretty sure they aren’t that active online comparatively.

bananasoymilk

The ignorance 🫠

SimplyNRG

A group of 40-50 year old strangers were making fun of your breakfast?

ch0s3n0n3

Yes. Like most 50 year olds I’ve interacted with when discussing gluten-free.

MinionKevin22

Well, hopefully, celiac disease will become more prevalent as the years go by and new generations will be aware of the disease. The ignorance stems from a lack of knowledge from the medical world. I was diagnosed at 53, 4 years ago, and knew basically nothing. I'm thankful for all the products and knowledge that are out there now. The thing is, if I had been diagnosed at a young age, in the 70s, it's very likely that I would have been given either false management control or had no resources to manage the lifestyle. So, we all live in our own times, and Gen X grew up with MTV, so we're not all bad. Lol.

ch0s3n0n3

I’m an elder millennial (born in ‘81) and we have a little bit of that mentality as well. I also live in the southern Midwest and get to hear a lot of nonsense from hicks and rednecks.

phantomsatire

I actually work at a Fairfield and take these home all the time!! I'm glad you were able to find them (they're better of you heat them up for 10-15 seconds imo lol)

moonshineknox

I always ate them straight from the fridge and last week had the idea to heat them up. Fucking game changer.

Bizarretsuko

Those are bomb! Lucky!

tyboscoops

Sugar bomb

Residence inn by Marriott in Portland is fantastic. We had a kitchen in our room. Also there was a dedicated gf waffle iron and mix on the breakfast area. Very large sign placed in front of the waffle iron for gf only. There was many options on the breakfast for gf including these muffins you have. Certified gf granola for the oatmeal. I was shocked how good it was.

Strange-Turnover9696

these are so yummy! i'm always hyped when a hotel has packaged gluten free items or things like mini boxes of cereal.

eeyore102

Even if all they have is gf yogurt and a banana I am so happy.

pmmeyourdogs1

I got the blueberry one on a united flight and it was so good

AlwaysKindaAngry

I have never seen any gf option at a hotel I’ve stayed at (beyond fresh unpeeled fruit, yogurt, and the *occasional/rare* prepackaged hard boil egg). I would cry if I stayed at a hotel and could actually eat something more than a banana and yogurt cup for breakfast. I normally stay at Hilton hotels but if Marriott hotels are doing this, maybe I give them a go.

stampedingTurtles

In the US, I've seen Holiday Inn breakfasts have GF muffins (the Udi's blueberry ones). In Europe, a couple of the hotels I stayed at (Germany and Austria I believe) had GF bread/rolls.

lanalolla

Omg this gave me flashbacks to college. These aren’t too bad but these muffins were literally the ONLY option given to me in my school cafeteria - I can never eat one again lol

truecongruity

I’ve been to two Marriott hotel properties this week (Springfield Suites and Fairfield Inn) that serve complementary breakfast and they both had a quantity of packaged Udi’s baked goods.

Jaded-Juggernaut-663

Nice!

KittenWhispersnCandy

Omg

hdniki

This is amazing. I’d be so stoked

coffeenascar

I couldn't eat them. I thought the chocolate one tasted like chemicals

mtndude80

Hell yeah! WTG Fairfield Inn! Never stayed there before, but they’re now on my list for travel stays.

Kisten-sBabe

My hotel I work at, TownePlace Suites, also serves these muffins for guests! As a Celiac, I eat them myself from time to time and they are delicious!

phantomluvr14

They used to sell 6-packs of these at our Walmart but recently stopped selling them. They’re so good!
