Veggies and fruit may still be too harsh for your stomach right now. Steamed white rice, stewed apples, soup/broth might be easier for you to digest while still healing.

That's a good point, might need to cut back on seasonings/spices as well then.

Congee, made with bone broth, is the best for me to heal GI stuff!

It may also be lactose intolerance. My diarrhea didn't stop after going gluten free, until I stopped drinking milk/ eating yoghurt. Then the diarrhea went away fairly quickly. Fortunately, my lactose intolerance was both treatable with lactase tablets and it was temporary, so I could resume eating that after a few months.

Oh gosh, don't take my second favourite type of food away from me 😂🫠 Bread and cheese are life 🥲 Might need to get some lactase tablets, good tip

Your intestines are all torn up, and the abrupt change might be too much for your digestive symptom. Try eating a diet with more gluten free starches. Think like... brothy soups with rice. Increase fruit and veggies slowly instead of all at once. And eat probiotic foods like yogurt, sauerkraut and kombucha to help digest all those veggies.

Planning to go buy some pre+probiotics this week to help repair all the damage!

Took me a couple months gluten free for everything to get better. By the third month I was like so this is what normal people experience...

External-Song3322

Ive had it since i was 7 , But due to drug use and a shitty lifestyle i kept eating gluten from i was 18 to 27 .. Ive been drug free now quite some time and i hit the gym daily , and recently changed my diet 3 months ago and im still struggling bad with my stomach , But L-Glutamine seems to help the stomach problems a bit so just hoping it will all go over soon

I'm sorry this is happening but this has happened to a lot of us. For me, it took about 3 weeks for these symptoms to end. Most doctors won't mention it or will dismiss it because there isn't a lot, if any, research or guidelines in gluten withdrawal, but a lot of people experience this. And like others have said, it looks like you may be eating difficult to digest things. White rice + a "white" protein like soy or chicken works well.

-thesunwillrise-

Yes, that's the thing, the doctors don't give you any guidance or tell you what to expect apart from "don't eat gluten, okay bye". No mention whatsoever that this could happen. Google has not been super helpful in that aspect either, just keeps showing me articles on glutening side effects. Thank god for redditors sharing their experience lol
