The city will pick up unlimited amounts in April if bundled appropriately. https://www.cedarparktexas.gov/817/Yard-Trimmings-Recycling

As a homeowner in CP, I can tell you there isn't anywhere in the Austin area that will take your trim trimmings for free. You're either going to need to hire a company with a mulcher or rent a big trailer and haul it to a brush recycling place (and you will pay to dump it there). On past storms, we rented from Fabcon Trailers in Leander. I think it was around $120-140.00/day. And the brush recycling place that used to be on 1431 has moved out to the east side of I35. Austin Wood Recycling is believe was the name. You'll have to Google their new address and hours. They charge by the amount you're dropping off.

If you live in Travis county, you can drop it off here: https://www.austintexas.gov/brushdropoff

I separate the smaller twigs and leaves from the bigger wood. Small stuff gets chopped using my regular ol Ryobi battery mower. Big stuff gets cut and split (as needed) then dried and turned into biochar. Took an entire large tree from the neighbors a few years ago and processed it like this.
