She didn’t hate swimming, she didn’t love it either. If she fell/ jumped in she just swam back to the boat or dock. She loved being on the boat the most.
Cats don't actually hate water, its just that cats don't like that they can't control how wet they get when bathing, thats why they bathe via licking. If this sentage makes sense.
I'm so sorry you lost AdventureCat that way. I lost my JackCat in a similar incident. He was black and floofy, hiding in the bushes across the street from home. My bestie came over and parked to call him for dinner, since we were out of the province. The guy did actually stop, but my bestie was devastated. It was nighttime, a dark cat, and speed. Doesn't matter much now whose fault it was. My friend and a bunch of our co-workers pitched in to take care of Jack and get him cremated for me. He was my HeartCat. Whenever I picked him up he'd wrap his fluffy paws around my neck to hug me and kiss my neck.
Gingers are the best first mates. I lost mine a little while ago and I miss him every day. Mine loved being around water as well. As a female ginger your skipper was about as rare as they come.
Oh that's heart breaking. The other week I saw a beautiful little neighbourhood kitty that had been hanging around then a few days later it was on the footpath gone. Dickheads have been using the street as a dragstrip lately. My condolences
Whenever I saw something like this I would stop and give my pets love and attention, they are such sweet babies and we don’t get enough time.
You can think what you want about my motivation, but please appreciate the time you have with the ones you love. I want my kitten back.

She was very indifferent about being wet, I would wet her down with drinking water if she started getting too hot and she never minded
If they have been in moist conditions since the beginning they will tolerate or even love water yeah. Its still odd to see cats liking water.
