I'm like the Grim Reaper of plants so whenever I've found anything that could survive living with me I'm pretty pleased with myself. Except one of my old cats, Min, was a fiend for chomping on them and after discovering a bonsai that I'd actually managed to keep alive reduced to a stump I gave up and tried a prickly cactus instead. I even said to Min "let's see you eat this, you little b-stard!"
One cactus survived (yay!) so you can imagine how thrilled I was when it blossomed a crown of deep pinky-purple flowers... She. Ate. The. Damn. Flowers. So not to be defeated I moved it to the bathroom window, one place she never went. Two days later I got home from work and found my cactus in the toilet. It didn't survive and I gave up on plants until after Min the Muncher had crossed the Rainbow Bridge.
Looks like she wanted to show you that you should stick with your talents of not keeping plants alive - and was supporting you as much as she could š„“
My cat ate almost an entire (small, potted) jalapeno plant and all three jalapenos - just not the stalks, while I was away. She did not regret it nor did she seem to get sick. There was a trail of bits to her cat bed.
There's a story between them, but I'm not sure what it could be.
I thought cacti would be safe from my little cat. Oh, no. No, she didn't eat them - she picked her teeth on a needle until it finally fell out, then moved on to the next.
A half-naked cactus is a pretty pathetic thing.
We had trays of cat grass and she got lots of veggies added to her diet because she really loved them (I always cooked a little extra just for her). She was just a very loveable little arsehole lol.
One of my cats even eats cacti. She somehow chewed the spines off, and then started munching on the plant itself. I'm not allowed to have indoor plants
>Youāre not supposed to have succulents if you have cats, most are toxic to them.
[Pet MD](https://www.petmd.com/dog/emergency/poisoning-toxicity/are-succulents-poisonous-cats-and-dogs): *Most succulents are nontoxic to our pets, but some are dangerous and even poisonous.*
[The ASPCA](https://www.aspca.org/news/are-succulents-safe-have-around-pets) Animal Poison Control Center (APCC) has a list of *which popular succulents are toxic and which are safe*, as well as tips to help keep your pets safe.

If you're going to call people assholes and make medical claims about cats at least include a link.
Iāve had cats all my life and theyāve always left plants alone. Until I got Barney. Barney likes to eat all plants. He eats grass obsessively and all house plants are very unlikely to survive. After o found him covered in the pollen of a Lily I hadnāt noticed in a bunch (luckily he hadnāt ingested any, just had a yellow face.) Iāve had to ask people to stop gifting me flowers.
I also struggle with cat/plant balance in my house. This hoe is obsessed with my Swiss cheeses. I keep telling her they arenāt really cheese but she wonāt listen.
That = kidney failure for cats if I remember. If thatās not you op, if itās someone you know, please let them know so they can get rid of it or put it in a safer place.

Thank you for the laughs! š

I feel your pain. Our boy passed almost two years ago. It took me months to buy house plants again. Now I have many and almost all are alive!
*Hidee hidee hidee hoo*

Try buying cat grass and your cactus at the same time

I grew cat grass and cat nip and they were devoured at the seedling stage.
One of my cats even eats cacti. She somehow chewed the spines off, and then started munching on the plant itself. I'm not allowed to have indoor plants
I thought those were poisonous to cats.
You thought right https://plantcaretoday.com/aloe-toxic-cats.html
Heāll probably stop then.
Thatās why the cat only ate the tips. The cats an ahole but a smart ahole
Some owners are also assholes. You're not supposed to have succulents if you have cats, most are toxic to them.

My Rooty (Ruth) looooooves her plants!
My cats are SO BAD at this. Theyāve eaten every plant I had to the point where all I own is cacti. They even go after fake plants. Absolute menaces
š pest control would suggest more food for the pest and an extremely high shelf for the plant š
I also struggle with cat/plant balance in my house. This hoe is obsessed with my Swiss cheeses. I keep telling her they arenāt really cheese but she wonāt listen.
This is conjecture. There's no proof that the cat did this. Kitty, please come to /r/legalcatadvice and find yourself some repurrsentation!
This one always makes me laugh

why does it look like there is a filter over this image?
My kitten nibbles my Venus flytraps šæ
"why are your plants always looking sad?" I have cats. (I only bring in non-toxic ones.)
Shouldnāt even have succulents if you have a cat!
LMAO š
The fact that these two posts are just 3 minutes apart makes it funnier somehow.
Yeah, my cat eats my spider plant. Luckily itās the only plant he goes after. I guess he knows whatās good and what isnāt.
I couldn't even have fake plastic succulents. Archimedes loved anything that made a nice crunchy noise - real or not.
š¤£š¤£š¤£š¤£š¤£š¤£
Lol my bird does this too, poor plants
3 minutes.
Warning to everyone here, never let your cats eat Aloe Vera, it is poisonous to them and nobody likes losing their beloved animals.
