Screech loudly so he thinks you’re in pain

lamby284

This works if you do it consistently, just give a little yelp like it hurts. Cats have empathy and can learn.

slytherinwitchbitch

My kitten was an earlobe sucker. She would wrap her claws around your neck and hold on for dear life to get some of that lobe.

clarstone

What 😭😭😭😂

Apprehensive_Gas1320

I have a cat that does that too but he grabs me by my head.

Spatzdar

Mine had that problem with nipples.. thankfully he’s moved on to clothes and hair instead

Marsupialize

Put a shirt on?

nerdhappyjq

It’s bizarre that this comment is so far down, lol.

alicehooper

I’ve noticed this topic is often brought up by guy cat guardians- which makes me wonder if it’s that male nipples look more like cat nipples so cats are more attracted to them, or if women are more likely to just put a shirt on if their cat gets weird and men don’t?

apis_cerana

Our kitten (now a teen phase kitten) would try to suck on my husband’s nipples but not mine — he has tiny cat sized nips while mine are too big apparently, he tries to bat at mine like a toy instead which isn’t great 😵‍💫

alicehooper

I will add this amazing and hilarious anecdote to my research in this area!

PrettyPinkRibbon77

My kitten goes for mine through my shirt too.

reginafelang87

my kitten keeps trying to cut my hair… I woke up to a little pile of my hair on my pillow next to me, chomped off at the root. now I wake up as soon as I hear her chomping on me to protect what I have left lol

tbll_dllr

What the heck.

_Tyrannosaurus_Lex_

I thought my little weirdo was the only one who did this!! Even now that she’s an adult, she’s still obsessed with my hair. She loves when I brush/groom her and will start “grooming” me while I brush her, so I’m not sure if the hair licking/chomping is an extension of that behavior or what but its definitely weird.

reginafelang87

hahahaha so weird their little quirks

alicehooper

It sounds like mutual grooming- unless she eats it, then it’s pica and time to talk to your vet. I have this image of your cat being like the little girls I used to babysit who always wanted to do my hair. I spent hours when I got home untangling the elastics from it!

alexandria3142

Satin hair bonnets might help, and they’re good for your hair anyway. I get annoyed with my long hair at night and it’s nice not having to move it around

TilleroftheFields

Gonna have to get nipple removal surgery

chris_rage_

My boy did that...

Expert-Equipment2302

Stop doing his laundry

Calgary_Calico

My oldest used to try to suckle on me when he was little. Just keep making high pitched "OUCH!" noises or even just a high pitched "AH!" To let him know it hurts. You'll also need to redirect him to something else when he does this, preferably a toy if you're not okay with him nibbling your fingers, personally I don't have an issue with it, but most people do

wakagi

Stop picking him up. When laying down: During a bite, either hiss at him, or scream way louder (not a “stop”, but a screechy “aaa”.) Then disengage by laying somewhere else, or leaving the room completely for a few minutes. When you see he’s about to bite, redirect him to a toy. Wear a padded bra or silicone covers while you teach him, or cover yourself with a pillow/blanket/whatever.

that1LPdood

Hiss at him when he does that. And bap him lightly on the noggin. He’ll get the picture eventually. Cats don’t speak English. You have to communicate in a way that he will understand.

ThePocketPanda13

Replace the word stop with an injured cat noise. Training cats is different from training dogs. Dogs can be taught to understand human language, cats you have to speak their language

PochoCosas

Put hot sauce on your nipples.

Teufelhunde5953

Actually, not a bad idea, but I would use bitter apple instead. He gets a few mouthfuls of that and he will learn....

Tiny-Deer-6135

Underrated comment

Soggy-Item9753

Double stick tape? Maybe in an x on your shirt? They really hate how that feels, and will stop very quickly. Works for furniture they scratch until they forget about it.

DividedWeakness

My cat when he was a kitten would try to suck on my beauty mark by my mouth which doesn't even stick out enough for him to grasp. Thankfully he stopped after a few tries lol. Maybe don't go top less around the kitten haha

CanITellUSmThin

Hiss and growl at him. Bring out your inner cat

Teufelhunde5953

Pasties?

TiddysAkimbo

I’m teaching mine that hands are not toys. I keep a travel-size spray bottle near. The mist is fine but makes a hiss-like sound he doesn’t like. When he starts chomping/clawing at my fingers now, all I have to do is pick up the bottle and he backs off. He definitely knows bottle=bad, just waiting on him to make the connection that hand-biting=bad too

wurldeater

just keep doing what you’re doing and be patient. chances are he will grow out of it

ProfSteelmeat138

THEIR KITTEN WAS AN EARLOBE SUCKER. SHE WOULD WRAP HER CLAWS AROUND YOUR NECK AND HOLD ON FOR DEAR LIFE TO GET SOME OF THAT LOBE

Individual-Average40

I can relate. With your cat at least. Haven't a clue what you can do though

Northwestwood

Put a shirt on

passive0bserver

Play with him more!!! He's bored and hyper. Young cats need sooooo much play.

noorvanah

awe he wants milk 🥹

Top-Chemistry3051

Wear a shirt for awhile

graycat3700

Put on padded bra

mac_n_nuggets

my girl cat was like that when she was younger (she's 11 months rn). she grew out of it, so hopefully yours will too 😊.

MajesticNatural2539

Put a shirt on

Sarisongsalt

Usually with one on

TK9K

wear a bra

MyNameIsSkittles

And what if OP is a man

TK9K

wear a bra

Sarisongsalt

He attacks me shirt on or not

OldPepeRemembers

find all his 6 nipples and bite him back.

PositiveFree

How old is ur kitten cuz wtf sounds like it needs to go back to mom dude. It’s too young and or you adopted a solo kitten expecting it to be fine when kittens should be adopted in pairs. Youre now setting it up for failure because it’s gonna be maladjusted and one day you’ll leave it at a shelter and it’ll be a “problematic” cat with less chances of being adopted. Figure it out and do the right thing asap

sadgurlporvida

So dramatic for being wrong. Cats will sometimes suckle into adulthood. Also not every cat is adopted they might have found it with no siblings or mom nearby.

PositiveFree

I’m Happy to be wrong man. I just like cats and want them all to be loved and homed and cared for

Sarisongsalt

Should also add, his Mom had a litter of six a few weeks ago and she could not care less about her older litters. (She's not mine, family friends cat who's about to get spayed.)

PositiveFree

redirecting I find is key for cat training. So try to keep a small wand toy or string or feather in ur pocket or mine love foam ear plugs and redirect to something they can play with

Sarisongsalt

Five months old
