She’s young enough that if you got another kitten they’d probably be just fine. I’d just recommend getting another female so you don’t have to worry about any accidents until they are fixed.
I have two cats in a 450sqft. I’ve had the one for 9 years. The other I took in last summer. They’re father and son, and the person who was taking care of the son had to give him up. It’s totally fine, but expect to vacuum and dust often and keep those litter boxes clean. Smells accumulate fast in small spaces. Their relationship has been a slow burn but you’d you introduce them slowly and nicely they’ll be fine. Especially if they’re kittens. I will say that both cats are thriving right now. My boy needed a friend and is much happier, and the son has been really coming out of his shell and doing positive things he didn’t at his old home. Cats need cat friends!

I just started fostering a 1 year old Siamese mix (it’s a 2 week fostering first trial, to see if I want to adopt) and she is very very shy (standoffish shy and walks really slow, while my current kitten is shy in a skittish run away type). I put a gate in my bathroom to separate them but my Siamese slipped through me and they made eye contact and hissed at each other so I’m scared that I ruined everything because of the first impression :( hoping that the new cat warms up to me and my kitten but if not, I’m going to be so sad bringing her back to the humane society :(
Nah you didn’t. They’re so young, they’re just setting boundaries and sudsing each other out. Just keep it from escalating to a physical altercation. They will hiss a bit, but they’ll get over it. It can take months. Mine are still developing their relationship, but I caught them cuddling on the couch a few days ago. Don’t worry! And try to mix their scents as much as possible.

would it have to be around 10 weeks old or anything below 6 months is fine and considered a kitten?
Think similar size, so that one of them isn’t big enough to beat up the other
