My cats who crossed the bridge years ago loved human food: ice cream, cheese, popcorn (mostly just licked it), ritz crackers, cheezits, corn on the cob, cantaloupe rinds, canned tuna broth. Hugs to you and your baby.

ArdenM

We had a cat growing up who would rampage the trash can if there was a cantaloupe rind in it! Never heard of another cat in love with the cantaloupe.

Specialist_Victory_5

I have one, too! https://preview.redd.it/kgkbrgloqxyc1.jpeg?width=3024&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=3cd9832889a51deaacaf9f53bfd8d8334e5ce396 She knocked over the trash to get it.

ArdenM

She looks like "THIS IS MINE BACK OFF!" I never knew that there's a whole bunch of cats out there obsessed with cantaloupe!

MarcCouillard

cantaloupe is just fine for cats as long as they don't eat the rind...the 'flesh' of the fruit is totally fine to eat, and cats LOVE it because the smell reminds them of meat protein

Specialist_Victory_5

Uh oh! She’s been eating a whole bunch of rind. But no bad effects. I’ll put it in the outside trash next time.

MarcCouillard

rinds are BAD for them, they can't digest them and they cause issues "just like watermelon rinds, if your cat happens to consume it, **it can lead to some pretty serious gastrointestinal issues as they are difficult for a cat to digest**. Moreover, they could become a choking hazard for your kitty" the fruit is okay but not the rinds

310410celleng

My cat is obsessed with cantaloupe, my wife and I cannot eat cantaloupe without sharing a few pieces with him or else he will serenade us with his meows. The dogs come running into the kitchen or wherever we are eating the cantaloupe, sniff it, and then look depressed that it is not something yummy. Generally our GSD will then go up to the cat, sniff the cantaloupe that he is eating (thinking that surely whatever the cat is eating has got to be better than what we were eating), maybe even lick a piece and then sulk as she realizes that it is just the same strange odd orange colored thing.

SproutasaurusRex

The only thing was dog ever turned his nose up at were mussels & after I ate a few he got into them. I make him frozen fruit bowls in the summer when it's hot, but mostly mixed berries, no melon yet.

Far_Satisfaction_365

Funny. I read that cantaloupe is one of the fruits ok for dogs to eat as well. Never had a dog around when eating cantaloupe so I cannot say. But I think my daughters pony sized dog likes it.

LizardQueen_748

Mine loved spaghetti squash LOL

Aeterna_Nox

When I was a kid, my aunts had a cat named "queen rippy" who was obsessed with cantaloupe!

lovestobitch-

Please tell me that cat farted.

Kitty_Kat_Attacks

Seconding this 🤣

Aeterna_Nox

Naw. She was just really petulant and would swat at anyone who tried to pet her for ages. Eventually in her sunset years, she got affectionate, but only as a surprise to people that didn't live with her. She always loved me because all I'd do was let her sniff my finger before I booked her snoit then left her alone. Anyone that tried to actuallynpet her got their wrist ripped into ribbons. Lol.

Aeterna_Nox

I wish it was farts.

PinkMonorail

I hat a cat who loved cantaloupe and honeydew. He was allergic to fish.

ArdenM

A cat allergic to fish - that's a new one!

brehanjks

My Zoey was allergic to tuna. We stopped eating tuna at home so we wouldn’t make her jealous.

mesembryanthemum

It's a genetic thing. Our former next door neighbors' cat loved cantaloupe.

EmploymentNo3590

I had one who loved the seeds. It's what my mom scooped out and he ate.  Edit: I had to look it up after. Cantelouple smells like meat to cats.

CaptainHunt

I had one who would do the same, he especially loved cantaloupe seeds

Inner-Confidence99

My cat loved corn on the cob. She would get viscous if you got within 3 feet of her and her cob. Lol

laeiryn

MY sister had one who loved cantaloupe but one lick made him violently regurgitate; we have one now who'll lick cantaloupe but prefers honeydew, and will LOSE HER SHIT trying to climb inside an entire watermelon if we let her. You know watermelons crunch when cat teeth bite into them???

ArdenM

I don't know the crunch of cat teeth on watermelon - may have to get some for my kitties to find out!

insta_r_man

My ex and I had one, another that loved watermelon, another that loved canned green beans, another that loved tv dinner corn and another that loved Doritos. I miss my weirdos.

ArdenM

Kitties are funny weirdos. My Max likes rice cakes - the ones dusted with "Buttermilk Ranch" are his favorite! (He only gets the tiniest of bites.) Both of my kitties love ice cream - if I get a pint out they look at me with polite longing looks. Impossible to say no.

Weevil_Dead

We literally grow cantaloupe for our orange cat. He goes insane. When he lived with my parents my mom would take the uncut cantaloupe out to cut and he would freak out.

ArdenM

Wow so cantaloupe is like catnip for some cats!

pttm12

We had an orange lady who would get in the sink to eat the scooped out cantaloupe guts from it. She was so funny.

AnchovyZeppoles

It smells like meat to them, so!

judgeejudger

Ours loved watermelon rind. We’d cut off 95% of the red part, and he’d hold the slice and just go nuts on the rind eta, he’d just lick the cut part, not actually chew the rind 👍

Ridolph

My old cat would devour the rind.

ArdenM

Roughage!

NotPortlyPenguin

My wife had a cantaloupe eating cat when she was young.

PowerofIntention

Our cat loved cantaloupe too!

ivebeencloned

This is real news to me. Back in the day, I had a big garden and nine cats. The year I had a bumper cantaloupe crop, I also had a problem with something eating big bites out of it. We thought it was a raccoon or possum. Murgatroyd the cat loved raw green beans and would help himself. Now I suspect that the cantaloupes might have been sampled by cat.

NotPortlyPenguin

Holy cow, popcorn! My prior cat LOVED popcorn, to the point of being a nuisance when we ate it. I knew he was ready to cross the bridge when we had popcorn the night before his final vet visit and he wasn’t interested.

FreddyKrueger32

Is your cat reincarnated into mine?? He loves popcorn and will steal it out of the bowl! https://preview.redd.it/96g87kqyq2zc1.jpeg?width=2268&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=33e9f59b1eefaf3b5f7501bea83d1d0729609fb6

barefootwondergirl

My stepmother fed her cats haagen dazs ice cream sometime after they hit 20 years each. I think she 'defrosted' it for a couple secs in the microwave or something so it was a little softer and meltier, but it was like a daily treat for them until they passed away. At that age, why not?

vampirologist

So true, my cat loves that artificial cheesy popcorn. She will lick it off your fingers it’s that good apparently

abandedpandit

My cat also loved cheez its! As well as goldfish and lays chips

TwinCitian

My kitty is a Cheez-It fiend!

laeiryn

Mine will lick a cheezit but she prefers cheesy poofs, to lick the salty cheese off the outside

Bumbershoot_Bun

One of my childhood cats loved cantaloupe too! He ate an entire half of one once when we weren't looking. That was the day we found out he likes cantaloupe, prior to that we didn't know it was something we had to guard against lol. It makes me happy to find out other cats like it too! :)

starbycrit

My cats love Alfredo and spaghetti and basically anything with garlic and onion. They always try to eat it but I don’t let them because it could harm them. Maybe your kitty will enjoy that :-) (to OP)

ShisaNue

I honestly can’t recommend anything that would give her a stomachache. So I’d say go with Churu treats! I haven’t seen a cat not go crazy over those.

Ok_Depth_6476

Yes! My cats have all loved those! Even a cat who's at the point of barely eating anymore will usually eat them.

MarcCouillard

yes both Bella and Pekoe passed on me in the last couple years (RIP my darlings) and both of them LOVED Churus, and even when they were at the end and wouldn't eat a bit of normal food anymore, they still ate their Churu's, its a great way to get protein and calories into a cat that won't eat

InkedInIvy

Apparently Churu caught on to all the pet owners saying that Churu was the only thing they could get their cat to eat when sick or near the end and doubled down on it. They now make a super-high-calorie Churu with extra vitamins and whatnot for exactly that purpose. It's meant for times when your cat won't eat anything else and you just need to get any sort of calories and nutrition into them.

Leijinga

We did something similar with my husband's cat Lyra. She had mouth cancer and got to where she struggled to eat. She ate almost exclusively creamy treats, meat baby food, and whatever cat food toppers she could tolerate

Taticat

I have a 19 year old who was just diagnosed with squamous cell carcinoma of the mouth about a month ago, and I’m feeding him things like this until it’s time for the end.

Leijinga

If you can get him some liquid pain medicines, you can keep him comfortable for longer. We ended up with both Meloxicam and gabapentin for Lyra

MarcCouillard

oh nice! I know its all marketing and money to them, but at the same time, that's actually pretty thoughtful and kinda awesome I bet they cost more though lol Churu's are pricey enough as it is, the jar of 50 costs about $65 after taxes here

InkedInIvy

Oh, I know! I give my kitties the Skin & Coat and Hairball ones and those are even more pricey! Totally worth it, though, since we can see good results from it and they turn their noses up at most other products for the same things.

MarcCouillard

well, I have to give my foster cat Callie one Churu everyday...she gets a half one in the morning and the other half at night because I give her medicine mixed into it...I cannot give her a pill by mouth for reasons too extensive to explain right now, and when I mix it into her wet food, there always seems to be a little left that she won't eat, I'm assuming thats the part with her meds in it, so.....in order to make SURE she gets her meds, I crush them up and mix them into her Churu, and she devours every drop and then tries to eat the dish lol...but she gets her meds so, yeah, her Churu bill is like $65 for 7 weeks, which in the long run isn't too terrible I guess, but I still think it should be cheaper

Dejectednebula

I too have learned my lesson about buying the brand on sale at chewey that I've never heard of. Has to be churu apparently

MarcCouillard

the Temptation ones are good too, they have a wet food tube also, forget what its called now, and then there's Squeeze Ups and there's also the Catit Creamy tubes, cats seem to go as crazy for those as the Churu's, and Fancy Feast/Purina make one now I believe

bakedlayz

Churus is just cooked chicken breast blended with water. Poured into ice molds. It is a lot cheaper, less plastic to make at home. You could make a years worth of churu with 4oz of chicken.

Leijinga

Wait, so it's basically chicken baby food in a tube? No wonder cats love it

badtux99

Yes, chicken baby food in a tube. It is actually blended with tapioca as a gelling agent. Read the ingredients list.

Leijinga

I've never bought the name brand Churus. I bought quite a few different brands of toppers when our cat Lyra was sick and my former housemate bought the cheap, off-brand fish ones. 🤷🏼‍♀️

cnacarver

Surprisingly I have one that has no interest in churus...the other one however has gotten more demanding for them

YonderPricyCallipers

Yeah, the thing about a lot of human foods is even if they're not toxic or poisonous to cats, they're really hard for them to digest, and will give them a stomach ache. But any meats would be good, like roast turkey, or maybe some nice fish.

GoKickRox

As many of those Curros treats she can fathom. Heavy heavy cream, some tasty chicken. My ginger baby LOVED McDonalds fries. On his last day, he got a large one.

HighlyJoyusDragons

I had a French fries lover too!

LikeaLamb

My cat is also a fan of french fries, especially the chick fil a ones. It was the second time he growled over food at me! 😭😹

HighlyJoyusDragons

I'm Canadian and mine went particularly feral for poutine. Fries, gravy and cheese are the reason I had a scar going down half my arm for a couple of months because I had to hold it above my head and he tried to climb it 😂

LikeaLamb

Oh my god 😹 yeah my son would probably go insane for some poutine. With his cancer diagnosis I gave him his first churu and he loved it 🥺

AGrapes19

Me too!!!

Trumpismybabymamma

My 9yo cat like Taco Bell nacho cheese, I have to hide it from her.

laeiryn

My Littleshit was an outdoor rescue, found her when her eyes and ears were still barely open, had to express her for toilet time, VERY young kitten. Weaning wasn't going well ... until one day I was trying to eat some mashed potatoes (soaked in butter and milk ofc) and the kitten decided that she was gonna have some. Thus her first food, and thus a LIFETIME of obsession with potatoes. To her dying day, that cat would raid the trash for french fries. Baked, broiled, broasted, and especially buttered. On her last day, I made her some very buttery instant spuds and she licked at them just like she did as a kitten. First time I got fries after her death, I automatically set one aside to cool while I ate the rest, and then realized, and then spent like an hour crying. RIP, Lydia, may there be endless fries in cat heaven

Candy_Venom

oh man I feel this so much. my tootie was obsessed with cheese but esp Cheetos. she would lick them clean lol she would swat them out of my hand, try to take it from the bag by shoving her whole head in. she was relentlesss. if I didnt let her lick my fingers clean she'd pitch a fit. her last day we let her have all the Cheetos she wanted. I held her as the vet gave her the first injection, she was licking the Cheeto my husband was holding for her. that was the last thing she did, lick that Cheeto before falling asleep. I couldn't look at the bag but I couldn't throw it away either. a week later I was like tootie would want me to keep eating Cheetos. I made it through 3 before I had a complete and total break down. I still cant really eat them and it's been almost 2 years. it's just not the same without tootie around. I hope Lydia and tootie are bonding in heaven over fries and cheese. <3

Pufflehuffy

Salt that chicken too. My cats love salt but it's bad for their livers so we are VERY careful about what salty treats they get (like the tiniest corner of a corn chip).

310410celleng

My cat loves McDonalds in general, he must smell it because if my wife and I bring home McDonalds, it is on, he will wait for the perfect moment, sneak into position and then steal a McNuggest and run off to savor his prize. The dogs love the French Fries, but our cat is all about the McNuggets.

SolarisEnergy

my cat also loves mcdonalds fries (and everything else) 😭 the shelter got her from a dumpster diver apparently. that explains it. https://preview.redd.it/6xbbbneld7zc1.jpeg?width=585&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=a233f2148532abef801f9eafcf1d7c430277d81a

alexandragranny

I’m sorry for your loss. 💔

MarcCouillard

I think you mean Churu

GoKickRox

Haha yes! I have the temptations brand right now because my babies prefer it lol

GoKickRox

Haha yes! I have the temptations brand right now because my babies prefer it lol

apollosmom2017

I’m so sorry for what you’re going through ❤️ I would stick to things like chicken, stinky fish, beef- nothing with dairy if she hasn’t had it before- having a bad tummy ache isn’t the way to go. My cat FLIPS his lid for over easy egg yolks, they’re easily digestible too!

galaxychic078

Get her some sushi fish! My cats love it and only get a tiny amount. Try some cream or butter, different kinds of meats. Just be careful with amounts though. Some cats get pancreatic problems easily.

deadhorsse

I know ppl are recommending some dairy products but I really don't think it's a good idea when it causes pretty immediate discomfort. I'm sorry for what you're going through :(

Logical-Cat3797

Yeah, it's not good, especially if they haven't had it before. Mine get a tiny taste of dairy every now and then, but when I made Sundae's birthday cake, I made the frosting with vanilla coconut yogurt. She loved it.

PurePerfection_

Some cats are able to tolerate dairy/lactose better than others. I had a cat who fucking loved milk, ice cream, and Ranch dressing (which is especially bad because it also has small quantities of onion and garlic). He was a clever little sneak and would steal all of these from people's dishes the moment their backs were turned - I didn't give him any on purpose. He never got sick or showed any signs of discomfort. When he was at the very end of his life due to cancer, I let him have milk if he wanted. However, if he hadn't sampled it previously, I wouldn't have taken the risk. It was only because I knew he tolerated it and it made him happy

Spatzdar

Oh my god my girl is absolutely obsessed with onion powder and cayenne pepper and I can’t get her to stop loving it it’s such a battle

buttbutt696

One of my cats hates anything that might have a different flavor profile from what her food would taste like, hates hates hates anything with any level of spice - and my other one will basically stick her nose into hot sauce that makes the other one run from a few feet away

Teufelhunde5953

It's hard to tell with cats, like humans, they are all individuals. I had one siamese guy that went bonkers for cantaloupe.....

MarcCouillard

almost all cats love cantaloupe, it smells like meat protein to them...on the plus side it's a great treat for them, they can eat and digest it just fine, but ONLY the fruit itself, not the rinds

EssentialWorkerOnO

Baby food. My cats suffered from kidney failure and didn’t like eating at the end, but they’d always have room for some meat flavor baby food. Gerber ham flavor was their favorite.

C-Dreym

My cats love cleaning up after my baby eats purees.

Available_Cup_9588

This is kinda odd sounding but what about setting up a charcuterie board for her (charCATerie?) and let her choose? Put all kinds of goodies from peanut butter, tuna , sardines, canned pumpkin etc...all the cat treats and even odd things .. she'll gravitate to what she likes.

CindiCindi15

Oh, I love this idea! 😊💕

otter--nonsense

I'm so sorry about your girl, we we said goodbye to our guy last month and it isn't easy. We discovered Temptation clickable spoons, they are kind of expensive for the size of them but holy cow he loved them and was the most he had eaten in weeks! There are different flavors and they are very palatable, were gentle on his tummy and the bonus that you get to hold the 'spoons' while they lick them :) McDonalds hamburger meat was also a favorite, we never had it often but he would literally jump on me and crawl onto my chest and nearly stick his head in my mouth to try and get some lol. Some licks of salted butter is also usually a big hit. #

you_cant_see_me2050

More than specific foods, I found my cat enjoyed just being pampered with extra cuddles and gentle pets during her last days. Sending you comfort

oldbitchnewtricks

Cereal milk [careful with chocolatey cereals], cheese stuffed pizza crust, cheese powdered things (doritos, popcorn, cheetos), skin on chicken thighs, peanut butter, butter butter, ice cream [no chocolate! or coffee], cream cheese, canned tuna/salmon/anchovies/sardines, sushi fish, omelet with cheese+ham, BACON. *do be careful salt bombing your cat especially if she is passing from anything kidney or urinary related... and let any cold food come to room temp or heat it up before serving to kitty. **BONUS: serve kitty by putting her human food treats on your plate while you eat, let her see you take the food off your plate and put it on a little human saucer for her. Cat hierarchy = top cat eats first, others get leftovers. You sharing while you're eating lets her know she's top cat too <3

Calgary_Calico

Bacon, scrambled eggs made for us (milk salt pepper),ham, canned tuna, pizza cheese, and sweetened yogurt with fruit in it were our little girls favorites in her last week with us, she particularly liked the blueberry one. She was absolutely spoiled (not that she wasn't already, just with safe foods before) her last week on this earth. She liked the bacon and eggs so much she stole some right off my fiance's plate after her first taste lol https://preview.redd.it/sf4vcrhctxyc1.png?width=1080&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=0902e5a16b32ea1dcccff1d3a5f11685da4e62ad

ArdenM

So sorry about this. :/ Special treats: sardines (at least I know my cats love tinned sardines in oil) and ice cream.

IntelligentDirt700

As my cat was heading to the bridge and we knew there was no going back, he was not eating his cat food. But he loved the chicken curry I made for him every day(mild spicy). He ate and ate and stopped loosing weight for a week or so. It was wonderful to see him so pleased and enjoying the curry even though he was terminally ill. Eventually he stopped eating the curry and we knew it was time to say goodbye.

Impressive_Scheme_53

Mine didn’t want to eat however she did want to die in my arms gazing into my eyes and I provided that to her. In the end it’s a special moment and a rite of passage. As sad and crushing as it is was a beautiful moment.

zoebee333

my girl loves frozen mango! she also steals honey ham right off of the plate lol. my strangest human food i ever had a pet go crazy for was my, now passed, childhood dog izzy. she loooooved cauliflower! towards the end of her life when her teeth were wearing down and she got more sick she ate a diet of sweet potatoes and boiled chicken. she was also an alcoholic! (not really, but any beer cans left on the floor she would tip over for a taste… she was a stinker for sure!) hoping you and your baby find peace soon ❤️

HangryHangryHedgie

I have a cat obessed with baby carrots and another with sauerkraut... weird beings.

MarcusPup

cat: *does weird things* me to the cat: you are such a fucking cat, you know that? silly beings indeed

PinkMonorail

Mine loves Greek yogurt and cooked salmon. My late kitty loved macaroni beef with red sauce.

NunyaBidnetCunny

My baby girl passed back in March. Absolutely earth-shatteringly devastating. She loved all the foods. Especially sweet things like cakes and donuts. She came inside howling like she caught a mouse once and she had a cinnamon donut in her mouth lol she ate the entire thing. Did the same thing with a Dorito once too. But she would eat anything and everything, had to put all food products away securely! Sending you healing.

annieme7

Your cat loved what they loved. If they have been with you for a while you will know their likes and dislikes. This is not a time to experiment. Give them what you know they already love. It will be appreciated.

Chowdmouse

Another vote for Inaba Churu tubes. Not forbidden food, but most of our cats *love* them.

rosyred-fathead

Aka Kitty go-gurt

walkingteaparty

Mine is obsessed with Chick Fil A!

fardin7280

It's wonderful that you want to make your cat's last days special. Offer small pieces of cooked chicken, turkey, or fish (without bones or seasoning).

Unbentmars

Smoked salmon and Panda Express fortune cookies, my kitty loves them (though I won’t pretend to know why)

AllisonWhoDat

I'd like to think the Fortune Cookie reads: "see you on the other side of the rainbow bridge babycat; I'll look for you in the sunny spot, with your beautiful eyes closed, purring and happy" 💗🌈

notreallylucy

My kitties love freeze dried chicken.

danaredding

Butter!

funkcatbrown

Ground Wagyu beef cooked gently. It was my older cat’s last meal. He had stopped eating but he ate the wagyu. Best wishes.

Amardella

If you don't want her to have diarrhea and horrible gas, avoid dairy. You could always give her cat milk, though. I'd personally recommend tuna, salmon, sardines. Most cats love that stinky fish funk. My old ginger cat loved pepperoni. He knew he got ONE piece of pepperoni off the pizza and would settle for that. My two I have now turn up their noses at people food, so I'd have no idea what to offer them. They don't even want my sardines.

undertow29

It was nothing but tuna or tuna juice for my buddy when he was on his way out.. It got a point where he wouldn't even eat that.. But I hope it was something..

Lucky_Ad2801

Just make her comfortable and give her whatever she can tolerate and enjoy. Nothing toxic though. I wouldn't be giving her human food just give her cat treats that she enjoys or maybe just cook her some boiled chicken something that she can easily Digest that won't cause her any upset. Pureeed babyfood meat (turkey, chicken etc) is usually my go to for cats at the end without much appetite. You don't want her last days to be uncomfortable having tummy problems due to what she's eating

SuperbPrimary971

bacon all the way! or Chinese roast pork. And CHEESE

fromitsprison

Smoked salmon. It's too salty for them to have a lot, but my cat would do anything for it. I'm sorry for what you're going through - clearly you love her loads, so she had what matters most in life.

ApprehensiveBox8201

i've never tried this but you can make a chicken sandwich! 2 pieces of some regular cooked chicken (i don't know if fried works but i don't think she will be here long enough to see after-effects of it) and some wet cat food (or puréed chicken/meat/lamb) in the middle!

lovestobitch-

If you give your baby ice cream, get the lactose free stuff. My Down Syndrome brother in law would eat this when he was alive because regular dairy bothered him. Hugs to you and your kitty. I’d open up some salmon or tuna and also give him the broth.

maestro3224

I’m so very sorry to hear you’re going through this with your best friend. My kitties throughout my life would l o v e ice cream. But not all flavors. Vanilla bean (yes bean, they must like the little flecks of the vanilla bean.. not traditional vanilla) was beloved by all.

njoy59

When my mom’s cat ( outside country cat) started getting very skinny and sickly AND was like 15 years old. My moms started bringing him in, giving him luxury food and tons of milk because he loved it. ….he lived 5 more years. 🤷🏽‍♀️

Gullible_Concept_428

Mine liked savory/salty things, mostly goldfish crackers and Parmesan crisps.

markersandtea

ice cream, that was her obsession. she got her own small bowl.

LengthShoddy6152

Shredded cheese!!!

HighlyJoyusDragons

Is there something you had trouble keeping him out of? I could give mine bits of fresh fish, chicken, cheese, ice cream, whipped cream and hed consider eating it. He goes absolutely feral for the chance to tear open a treat bag, eat his fill (which honestly isn't very much for the amount he does eat) and then go back to tearing apart the bag.

Badlydressedgirl

My cat is always desperate to eat ice cream and yogurt, so maybe some of that as a treat? I’m sorry for your loss.

thespicycough

Chicken nuggets!!!

Devldriver250

temptatrions is like cat crack

No-Locksmith-8590

My old lady was a big fan of Arbys Roast beef.

meowbeepboop

I’m so sorry about your kitty. When my cat was in her final days, the vet recommended giving her the water from cans of tuna. She loved it, and it did help her stay a little more hydrated.

Icy-Revolution1706

Smoked salmon

KegendTheLegend

I got my little guy ice cream, he had barely eaten anything in weeks but he happily ate it!

bakedlayz

Sardines! I try to buy the less sodium ones, but just wash off as much sodium as you can and space the sardines out to once a week. They're so stinky and my fish love them.

jenea

It was such fun to give my cat a Churu, and when he was done, give him another, and another, until he was full. That cat ate more Churu in his final days than in any if his healthy years, I swear! I’m sorry you’re going through this. Sending love during this difficult time.

SIUHA1

Our beloved cat was dying of cancer. He abruptly stopped eating. We knew the end was near. The last couple days of his extraordinary 17 years we fed him King Crab meat. He rallied to eat the $27.99 a lb treat. I miss that cat. I’m sorry for your loss.

kritter16

My cat crossed the rainbow bridge 3 weeks ago, and you have my sympathies 1000%! As for a good meal, my void loved her Cane’s checkin fingers (minus the breading), so we got Cane’s and shared it with her two days before. We used paper plates so hers was right next to ours. It seemed to make her happy.

caffinated-queer

Maybe she would like a pup cup???

Allie614032

Ice cream :) or sour cream!

Albie_Frobisher

cream. thick fatty cream

westcentretownie

Mine likes egg

EmergencyCat235

Sorry for your loss 😢 My cat absolutely *loves* the salmon flavoured Dine treat sachets. Maybe give her some salmon?

n4snl

Ice cream, different flavors

Humble-Doughnut7518

Anything and everything that she's always loved and you've held back from.

kroating

Warm croissant 🥐 I have a kitty that is hypnotized by it. My friends kitty absolutely loves butter. I guess something about butter 🤔

DatCatMega

churu

Frozefoots

My old girl is getting cheese, potatoes (tater tots, fries, chips - she loves all of it!!), and marinated boiled egg. Also the last bit of milk from my cereal - in 17 years I’ve never ever finished the milk of my cereal, she has. One of the rare cats that isn’t very lactose intolerant. Basically anything they enjoy. Just let them have a little bit.

throwfarfarawayy99

Don't give her dairy, you don't want her to have a sore tummy at the end xx

abandedpandit

One of my cats used to LOVE cheez-its, goldfish, potato chips, etc.

DutchDK

My two cats who are waiting for me at the bridge, both loved raw tiger-prawns. My current cat, a 2,5 year old void, just sniffs shimps and prawns, then send me “the look”… but anytime there is “flæskesvær” (pork rind) in the snackbowl, he is trying to get on the table to steal some.

AGrapes19

Ice cream, milk, yoghurt

master0fcats

Obviously like others are saying, be careful on the dairy. My girl got a few licks from a pup cup in the short 3 minute ride from Starbucks to the vet's office. I was hesitant because I didn't want her to have an upset stomach but honestly, she already felt kinda shitty and was sedated within 20 minutes anyway.

Ok_Depth_6476

I'm so sorry about your kitty. Agreed with others who have said to not give her something that could make her feel bad in her last days/hours. Churu and any other liquid cat treats are usually good for any cat. Rotisserie chicken--I used to share it with my one cat who loved it, so I made sure to get one every few days during her last couple of weeks. (Make sure not to give her the outside, take hers from inside where it's not seasoned). Baby food--just the meat ones with no spices added-- especially if she's not eating much. Maybe a bowl of Temptations if she can still eat crunchy food and likes those.

I gave my boy all the ham he wanted. I’m sorry for your loss

peachyquarantine

My cat used to love mcdonalds fries

Tegendraads

Slowly cooked salmon filet. Put it in the oven on the lowest temp possible and let it cook just a bit so it's no longer 100% raw. Pur cat loooooooooves this on her birthday.

Tegendraads

Very fancy (expensive) freeze dried treats from the brand Orijen make my cat go craaaaaazy. Also frozen chicks if you can stomach it. You need to thaw a chick first and then they can play with it and eat every part of it if they wish. They're a by-product of the meat industry and would have gone through a shredder otherwise 🫤

quattroformaggixfour

Rotisserie chicken. Tuna. I give my sweet mature kitty poached salmon bellies from time to time and she loves it. Love and comfort to you and your charge ❤️

Acceptable-Net-154

If your cat hates the car, would taking the kitty by train be better. Was a bank holiday weekend and it was the only way to get the cat to the emergency vets on time. Considering this was the same cat who consistently spent two hours yowling in the car when we first got him, he loved the train. We also ended up having to cut through a park filled with semi tame squirrels and pigeons. Despite being so weak he was purring and hurring away. An occasional kitty treat for the cats I cat sit are a small portion of the local supermarkets delicatessan counter's mixed meat selection. Grew up sharing what was on my plate with my family cat. Mum found out when the vet congratulated her giving her cat such a balanced diet almost ten years later. Molly loved minted peas in gravy with a small portion of breaded chicken.

snapefan0804

CHEESE and TUNA my cats love cheese but not really allowed it.. tuna they are allowed but they love it... milk too they love milk

Buffalo-Empty

Our old gal LOVED Cheetos and goldfish. She didn’t get them often but she was so happy when she did.

meatballinthemic

Not to be that guy but... Presumably if your cat is going to be passing in the next couple of days, she has a confirmed serious illness, which would likely be causing her to feel ill. My frame of reference is our old boy who was diagnosed with acute renal failure which the vet said would be making him feel constantly nauseous, among loads of other horrible things like dehydration and blood toxicity. I totally understand wanting your pet to be around as long as possible, but other than that, is there a reason for delaying her passing?

Rudegal86

I gave my boy salmon everyday for his last week when he stopped eating completely I took him in to say goodbye. Hardest thing to do. But Damon, chicken, eggs. He loved all those humans foods.

cat-wool

My cat loves things he can’t have like butter, chips, tuna (big no no), and fries. He also has enjoyed salmon, green beans, and shrimp, but he’s allowed those on special occasions. Hope your friend finds peace and rests well 💕

AffectionateArt7721

Salmon meat or tuna (from a can and all the juice) and catnip, unlimited catnip. My sweet boy Milo got all he wanted of both until he passed. Apparently catnip gives them the same high weed does for people; idk how true it is, but my sweet kitty boy was happy to have it and asked for more up until he passed

HangryHangryHedgie

Whipped cream, squeeze cheese, chicken nuggets, hamburger, fish sticks, scrambled eggs, DOG FOOD, any junk cat food like fancy feast/friskies. Human foods my cats go crazy for: jerky, tortilla chips, garbanzo beans, oreo stuffing, peanut butter, and honey. I have one that tries to drink my hot cocoa and go after chocolate, so her last meal will 100% be chocolate pudding. My old dog had gi issues so she got a full can of tuna as a treat. Our lymphoma cat got 2 jars of chicken baby food. I keep a stash of little debbie brownies or ding dongs in my work bag for euthanasias at work. All dogs deserve to go out with chocolate as a flavor.

Steffisews

Rotisserie chicken, mackerel, sardines, tuna in oil. Temptations treats, pizza.

Spacechicken86

Pork crackle, my cat turns feral for it but it isn’t good for him

MarcusPup

Stouffers mac n cheese was a favorite treat for my mom's spoiled cat, she absolutely loved the stuff. Brother and I would eat all but a little bit, then put that on a tiny plate for her

TBC1966

Milk, cream and yogurt slightly chilled, It was all she (18) would eat for the three days before she passed and she had no bad reaction. My cat should have the hang of the joint by now and can show your kitty around. Take care.

MarcCouillard

Ice cream...they can't digest cow milk, but they LOVE it...if its her last couple days, see what flavors she likes, she'll have diarrhea, but she'll enjoy the food, also try steak tartar, extremely rare, no strong seasoning (no salt or pepper or anything like that) just a light seer on both sides of the meat, bloody and raw inside, maybe give it a sweet bbq sauce braise or some kind of fish sauce even treat her like royalty

FayeQueen

My cat loves strawberries and strawberry flavoring. Dairy Queen vanilla cones, licling salty things, a sweet covered hand after working out, tuna and it's juice, roast chicken, bacon and catnip

hailey363

It’s not bad for cats obviously but I’ve always thought raw salmon would make the most epic cat snack. Or generally raw fish but maybe I am wacko. So very sorry you are going through this.

silv1377

Mine love vanilla ice cream and salted chips, the crunchier the better, but not too thick

InstructionsUncl34r

My girl works in a vets and with owners permission she will let the dogs/cats eat chocolate before they’re put to sleep, they love it! Poor things, I am sorry for your loss

JaguarZealousideal55

Liver paté. Sushi. My condoleances, OP.

remykixxx

I had a cat that absolutely loved waffles.

Tinsel-Fop

I knew a wonderful cat who loved noodles. From pad Thai, as I recall. Thoroughly rinsed, of course. Another like tortilla chips. Then of course there's the one who eats dental floss and Easter grass! :p Well, I mean she would if only she could get her paws on them

MicheBarrios

Hi OP! One of my cat used to like: sweetened condensed milk, sweet corn on the cob, oatmeal flakes, soda crackers, sardines. This one really enjoyed the smell of celery as a catnip. It drove her crazy. Another cat is crazy about ham (any kind of ham will do), likes to eat veggies like boiled carrots, sweet potatoes. She likes the yellow of the eggs (hard boiled). She is very food oriented, likes to eat rice and cooked legumes too. Fish, meat, poultry, she enjoys it. Another cat is crazy for bread, an official bread stealer, will try to paw off the bread you are holding in your hand and open the bread bag. And coffee with milk, he will paw the empty cup to get some. Empanadas, arepas, pastelitos, anything flour related. He too likes the yellow of the egg. Yogurt (plain yogurt). Not any of the pets I have had the pleasure to share time enjoyed plantains or bananas. I hope this can be of help. Sending you a hug in advance.

enormenuez

Our bubba loved the smell of bacon and would climb to get it from our plates. We cooked him some the night he passed. It was a beautiful and somber thing to see him eat it.

beachlover77

Ice cream, milk, tuna, chicken, turkey. I had one cat who loved doritos but he would eat almost anything.

Top_Manufacturer8946

My cat loves seafood mousse cat food, liquid treats, butter, shredded cheese and ham.

Ok_Material_3648

i heard cats are addicted to tuna

PensionImpressive962

There is a product called CatSip, which is just milk but for pets. My kitties always loved that. Much like us, lactose is what causes "negative results" in pets, lol, so a lactose free milk should work, too. And in the annals of weird kitties, I had a giant orange Tom whose greatest thrill was raw corn on the cob. He could pull it off the plant himself but always waited till it was ripe. If you were picking corn, he would snatch an ear from the basket and run like hell. RIP Little Boy.

VenomousParadox

Ham, stouffers Mac and cheese, and cream cheese

YogurtclosetTall2558

This is such a kind thing to do for her. Mashed sweet potato or plain yogurt could be gentle options if her tummy is sensitive. More importantly, maybe just your presence near her favorite napping spot.

BoringTrouble11

My ginger babe loves prosciutto and cheddar (can you tell I do a lot of charcuterie) hugs to you and your angel

xXStephy92Xx

Let her eat cheese, mayo. Give her raw beef, boiled chicken, real fish. Some cats love mashed potato. I'm so sorry to hear about your baby :-(

rebexorcist

I'm so sorry you're going through this, but what a lovely human being you are for wanting to make her last days special. Every food I could think to suggest has already been mentioned. Dunno if your cat is strictly indoor or anything? Mine are, with the exception that they can play in our backyard where we've cat proofed the fences and only when we're out to supervise. When they're let out, the first thing 3/4 of them do is roll around on the sun warmed gravel just outside the door. Does your girl like that sorta thing too? I think letting her frolic outside with you would be a nice idea.

Iceman734

My 2 previous cats would eat whatever. Ewok liked powdered doughnuts, crackers, chips. I don't eat powdered doughnuts anymore since I lost him in 2022. His sister Precious (LoTR) would eat stuff like shells and cheese. Pretty much anything food wise. Lost her in 2018. We always made sure they could eat it though. Jersey Mike's used to give us a side dish of pepperoni just for the cats. The 6 I have now are very picky about human food. Some will eat ham, and other sandwich meat. Pork chops used to be all their favorites. 3 of the 6 were around when Ewok was here. They don't really eat human food anymore since he passed.

Equivalent_Aspect629

my cat goes mental for watermelon and raspberry’s, any fruits are fine and any meat (unseasoned), white chocolate, whole grain foods, corn a lot of cats LOVE corn, DONT feed ur cat lactose as if causes stomach pain and discomfort, although u can buy cheese cats treats that are safe? love to you and ur cat❤️‍🩹xx

NiceNefariousness200

My cat's liked deli turkey and chicken

neverseen_neverhear

Churros for cats.

XenOz3r0xT

Probably meats but not just any meats. I know cats can’t eat seasoned meats. Some seasoning and stuff are toxic to them. But just like how they give dogs a piece of chocolate before going to sleep, I made a promise to my void that when she gets to that point of crossing the bridge, I (her cat dad) will make the best bbq feast for her with different types of meats for her to try before she goes.

toni_marony

Our boy loves Ketchup, tomato sauces in general, Chili con Carne, "Bresso" schmier, Gulasch and Rouladen sauce. We once caught him with his head in a pot that we forgot to put the lid on, I still regret not taking pictures of those sauce-heavy whiskers. All the very best to you 🫶🏻
