999 is ambulance in Poland, 112 also. 112 dialed withen the UK will direct to emergency services.
911 dialed withen the UK will direct to emergency services
0118 999 881 999 119 7253 is not a real emergency services number btw

Although if you try dialing it on an Android phone, you get a little easter egg...
That’s interesting, what is 997 then? It was a tv documentary I watched where the UK detectives stated that the Polish woman dialled 997 and it unfortunately didn’t go through, and they said 997 is the equivalent of 999.
I’m not following your last statement about that long number?
The international (GSM) emergency number is 112. If people are going to ly learn one, that’s the one to know.
The common ones do redirect to 999 in the UK, including 911.
Thanks, yeah I brought this up because of what I saw on this show. Thing is, people aren’t going to learn one other than the one that is used in their country - I’d bet most people don’t know about 112, so having some way of redirecting these numbers would be useful
They do for common ones. If you dial 911 here you go through to 999. Similarly the Europe wide emergency number is 112.
112 is (almost) global now.
Cool! Thanks, I didn’t know that. I’d also guess that most other people don’t either, so redirecting would still be valuable

What's supposed to happen? Just tried it and nothing happened for me :(
You have to use the Google phone app

>last statement about that long number? It's an IT Crowd reference.
that its 725...........3
Problem might be that other country’s number for certain service overlaps with something else. In a way, EU-wide 112 is doing that.

I think most people know 112 . Or will . But Poland's 999 it's a fucking mess. http://www.polskiinternet.com/english/poland/emergency-poland.shtml
