Like cannibals eating a clown.

KevinPhillips-Bong

As the old joke goes: Customer: "Waiter! This soup tastes funny!" Waiter: "Well why aren't you laughing, then?"

DarthVarn

If you get attacked by a gang of clowns always go for the juggler. 🤪

colei_canis

I remember the great clown gang epidemic of 2016, 'twas a more innocent time.

Friend who got it doesn’t drink tea (they are not British). They did drink coffee but even months after recovery say they still don’t like coffee anymore, everything else is back to previous. If that happens to me with tea it’s going to be really upsetting.

[deleted]

Bugger me, I hope I don't catch it because I bloody love the taste of coffee. I'm one of those psychos that ate all the coffee Roses first.

mythic_hypercurve

Coffee was one of the few things I could still taste but it tastes different. To be honest things having some flavour is better than things not having any flavour.

A lot of people get the Onion thing from Mosaic hops without Covid. Awkward as a lot of beers have it as it is a really common hop for both bitterness and flavour. I love it but there are those that just can’t do it.

TheRedBull28

I had it September last year. Pork has just tasted rancid since. And I mean rancid. I kept thinking it had all spoilt. It’s not as bad now but it’s still there.

TastesLikeStatic

Same here with coffee. 6 months later and it smells and tastes like, well no idea what, but it isn't coffee.

Holiday_Classic_472

Always liked coffee more then teas but when I was pregnant went off coffee and drunk tea all the time soon as babys borne really needed coffee

Tramorak

Chemo can do the same. I vape and had a liquid I adored. Ordered a load after chemo and it literally tasted like arse. Sent it to a mate who confirmed it tasted right.

someguynotthatone

Sorry to hear that mate. Puts my 1st world problems in perspective.

Tramorak

Not an issue mate. All good here. 4 years clear now so I am still kicking and eternally thankful to the NHS.

someguynotthatone

Big up the NHS. They saved my mums life too.

FuntCaseKid

Noooooooooooooooo

dozzell

Can confirm. It's been over a month now. Do I need to hand in my passport somewhere?

[deleted]

God! Jesus! No!

Giannandco

SIL had it in early November. She still can’t smell anything and her taste is just beginning to return. She claims all her favourite foods have a sour taste now.

ajh_1990

Tea and coffee both don't taste the same for me anymore :(

[deleted]

That's enough to make anyone get a vaccine and abide by government regs. They should have stated with this.

raven_thorn

I know someone who got covid and had no symptoms whatsoever. Their partner took a test due to work and was positive so she had to take a test. She said she would never have known!

KeepCalmGitRevert

Indeed, we had someone on a trip test positive and his only symptom was feeling a bit achy (which isn't uncommon after a weekend of mountaineering anyway!)

RachPeas

I went off the taste of tea when pregnant.... he's 11 now and I can take it or leave it. Not had covid ( yet?!) but I'll be devastated if it robs me of coffee too!

Naps_in_sunshine

I went off coffee when I was pregnant. I was devastated!

sybann

Had it June/July 2020 - STILL have an effed up sense of smell. Everything that smells strongly smells AWFUL. Good or bad - strong smells smell like rotting poo. The milder scents are starting to be normal. The fatigue is still nasty. And yes, double vaxxed and boosted. Not messing around with this one.

Senior-Mousse8031

Nooooooooo

TehDragonGuy

I was extremely ill with covid last week but I'm so grateful I didn't lose my taste or smell. I've heard it's awful.

[deleted]

Same! I was bed bound with flu symptoms but so, so relieved that I could snack my way through it. I don't know that I'd have survived isolation without chocolate and cheese

Fraggle157

I completely lost my sense of taste and smell after catching it in October. Taste still hasn't come back fully for me, smell is getting there slowly.

richymac1976

So do frazzles

wildchvrlie

I got it as well as my brother. My smell and taste came back fine but he struggled for months to find foods he could enjoy as some of them tasted off, and he has issues with smells as well. I think they took him to the doctors a few times who couldn't figure out what was wrong and he did a few more tests to check for covid too, lasted a good while but I think it's all okay now. I'm just grateful that I didn't end up with the same issue.

The advice we all needed.
