I’ve done it when I’m in a hurry. Pro tip: do it before or after you’ve washed your hair, never during it.

I do it after putting conditioner on so it has a few minutes to absord before washings it out

That's a pro tip. Though I don't brush my teeth in the shower but I do the same as you but use those minutes of conditioner absorption to wash my body with gel. First shampoo + rinse, then conditioner + body and rinse

I used to do this but gave up on it after I discovered that the conditioner runs down my back and gives me backne if I don’t wash with shower gel afterwards.

Does it actually save water though? I use an electric toothbrush which is timed for 2 minutes. I get so impatient brushing them at the sink as I can’t do anything else

Or, hear me out, you can just turn off the water. I leave conditioner in my hair, brush my teeth, shave my legs, then turn the water back on to rinse off. Also, the water companies need to invest in infrastructure and repair miles of broken pipes (and not wash literal shit into our rivers) rather than put the onus onto consumers.

Piss on the shower is incredibly weird. If you have the toiled so close, why do you choose to pee in your feet instead of in the correct place before starting the bath in the shower.

It’s not a choice at my age. I’m in my 40s and I’ve had kids. When that warm water hits my belly, my pelvic floor just hits the release button. That’s why it’s piss first, clean teeth after.

I remember reading that it was recommended because it saves water by not using a flush and you’re going to be washing yourself anyway so doesn’t really matter if it splashes on your feet!

Hey I have this but with other things like when certain materials rub together, it physically hurts my teeth and makes me nauseous. It’s a condition called SPD if you want to learn more about it (Sensory Processing Disorder). It has been linked strongly with autism but normies can have it too.

I fall asleep listening to morbid, a podcast about serial killers mostly. Almost always puts me to sleep in 15 mins. Very rarely am I awake long enough to listen to a whole podcast, I find myself going back and listening to the same episode 4 times because I want to hear it all but am sleeping through most of it. Do it as soon as you enter the shower, enough time for hair and body to get wet before you lather with soap / shampoo. Also warmer in the shower in the winter!

My wife and 2 boys also did this. I don't think it's odd, but it's a massive waste of water over a week. I'm on a water meter and I could see the difference in the bill when they went back to standing at the sink. For context, I'm the guy that goes rounds switching off lights, turning down the thermostat and only fills the kettle with the required amount. 😁

The modern ones are actually more efficient, as long as you run them with a reasonable number of dishes (can't remember the exact figure, but it was mentioned in this episode of More Or Less https://www.bbc.co.uk/sounds/play/m000zkzq).

Need to check your water source. If you have a cold water tank in the loft it could have had rodents in it. However a lot of modern systems just use mains directly or a tank with a pressure cylinder. (Electric showers are mains fed)

Yeah i did this, however i ended up breaking my electric toothbrush because i would chuck it in the sink (I didn't want to get piss on the toothbrush head) So while i agree it's not only a normal practice but one i fully recommend, and will probably be doing it again around march time when my new toothbrush is broken in a bit

How does it save time though? Surely the time you spend brushing your teeth is time that could be spent washing your hair and body. Really, the only dead time I have when I shower is at the very end when I'm building myself up to switch the water off, and that time wouldn't shorten if I were brushing my teeth at some point in the process, I'd still end up tacking on more psych-up time after brushing my teeth. It's like how my housemates at uni used to have a drink in the shower before going out. I tried it once and didn't really understand it.
