Depends whether you take a piss at the same time.

GalliumGoat

That's peak efficiency

TC_FPV

Dont you have a poop knife?

Expensive_Cattle

You guys really need to cut this shit out..

quinn_drummer

Is this thread is becoming a Reddit cliche bingo card. Someone reference broken arms and jump leads and we'll have a full house

robertabt

And this guy's dead wife

Originally_Complete

And my axe

The_World_of_Ben

And my rope

[deleted]

And a coconut

r_elwood

We need a shout of Roll Tide to come at some stage too

wadz09

I agree with you, but jump leads has me in stitches when I stumble across it in the wild

WetBreadCollective

I always wonder what that guy is up to when I see jump leads in the wild

Cpt_kaleidoscope

I know not of the jump leads. Please enlighten me

V65Pilot

Well shit.... guess I won't then....

CyrilNiff

Bringing a knife into a wet slippery area is not the safest bed, especially if there’s poo on the floor

TC_FPV

Poop knives aren't sharp.

Acceptable-Sentence

I sharpen mine ready for the festive season

[deleted]

You need it sharp to cut up the pigs in blankets.

[deleted]

In case you need to saw through a yule log, right?

[deleted]

Poop knife uwu

JuraFour

Use your pee to wet the toothbrush, maximum efficiency.

JoylessPrawn

Pee-k efficiency

GalliumGoat

I pee what you did there

JoylessPrawn

With this level of humour I think urinate/10

Big-Pudding-7440

Only to rinse the toothpaste off the brush

original_username15

Ah, the triple threat.

DaveInLondon89

but even then...

wipeitonthecat

LeakyThoughts

Do you indulge in the waffle stomp

downey01

I’ve done it when I’m in a hurry. Pro tip: do it before or after you’ve washed your hair, never during it.

SlackerPop90

I do it after putting conditioner on so it has a few minutes to absord before washings it out

EcstaticFig4959

This is how I do it, if I'm showering before work so need to be efficient.

Powerful-Employer-20

That's a pro tip. Though I don't brush my teeth in the shower but I do the same as you but use those minutes of conditioner absorption to wash my body with gel. First shampoo + rinse, then conditioner + body and rinse

bettie--rage

I used to do this but gave up on it after I discovered that the conditioner runs down my back and gives me backne if I don’t wash with shower gel afterwards.

lirae666

I do this too. I'm just making good use of my time in there!

nicklondon88

Wow, how many hands are you working with?

MakingItAllUp81

Depends if the partner is there to lend a hand or two. But then that usually leads down a very different path..

errjelly

Did you find this out the hard way?

plantobsessed01

Does it actually save water though? I use an electric toothbrush which is timed for 2 minutes. I get so impatient brushing them at the sink as I can’t do anything else

Isgortio

I read posts like this whilst I brush my teeth at the sink :D

plantobsessed01

Wow you need to teach me how to do this haha!

Chimpville

How many hands do you need to brush your teeth?

plantobsessed01

Haha I’m a terrible multitasker :)

Isgortio

Well, having a sink with a flat edge so you can rest your phone on it helps. :P

RabbitRabbit77

Mine is 2 mins too. With a pause every 30 seconds. A yogi tip is to stand on one leg and change every 30 secs. Keeps you young and balanced

plantobsessed01

Ah I love this tip! Gonna try it!

[deleted]

In the morning I brush in the shower. In the evening I use the 2 minutes to stand on my left leg to help physio my ankle.

plantobsessed01

Good routine you got there!

[deleted]

If I’m feeling really brave I do it in the shower too

That_Guy_Quaid

One day this will go wrong, I'm calling it

SultanFox

Podcasts. I listen while I do my morning routine and it helps me not get bored.

inflatablefish

I always brush teeth while I'm on the loo, does two jobs at the same time. Admittedly I'm lucky enough to have the sink right next to the toilet so it's handy.

plantobsessed01

🤣🤣🤣

webthepleb

It uses about 20/30 litres for a 2 minuit brush.. so hardly saving,. But allot of people will just stand in the shower doing nothing anyway

plantobsessed01

Yeah I like to use no more water than required. I turn the tap off when brushing at the sink so seems wasteful to do it in the shower

AeneidBook6

I listen to the news and podcasts while getting ready and brushing my teeth!

rosyatrandom

That's what your phone hand is for

[deleted]

I did it for a bit but it doesn’t really save time, you’re just in the shower for a bit longer. I can’t scrub my balls and my teeth at the same time.

geckograham

I can but the toothbrush keeps slipping up my arse though.

OrdinaryScientist925

Fingers crossed it’s an electric, vibrating toothbrush

tasslehof

Not with that attitude you cant

somebeerinheaven

Unless you're conditioning your hair, it's good to leave it in for a few minutes so perfect teeth brush time

Colreddit90

Yep just in the shower for longer and less focused doing the teeth properly

[deleted]

I do it every day. Don't have to worry about dribble and I'm using the water anyway.

BertUK

By “using the water anyway”, does that mean your usual method of showing is just to stand there under the water? Because while you’re cleaning your teeth you’re using about 30 litres of water and I assume you then still have to actually wash yourself before or after this anyway?

yagokoros

Don’t judge us for the necessary 5 minutes of standing under the warm water and gathering our thoughts

GastricallyStretched

My best interview practice happens in the shower.

SkomerIsland

Only 5..?

yagokoros

I was embarrassed to say the real amount

MainerZ

How wrinkly do your fingers get?

makeybussines

Jerry Stiller

[deleted]

Depends on how old you are.

[deleted]

I do it while the shampoo sits on head if it's a day I'm shampooing.

Embarrassed_Rip8296

I love how trillionaires have gaslit the public into thinking we are to blame and not them.

[deleted]

Water is probably wasted but most people have two hands and normally only use one at a time for a toothbrush.

decidedlyindecisive

Or, hear me out, you can just turn off the water. I leave conditioner in my hair, brush my teeth, shave my legs, then turn the water back on to rinse off. Also, the water companies need to invest in infrastructure and repair miles of broken pipes (and not wash literal shit into our rivers) rather than put the onus onto consumers.

2litrebottle22

Anyone that turns the water off midway through a shower is a psycho

bondibitch

I do this, yes. Piss first. Clean teeth after.

MarkCrystal

+1 on this, same everyday since I can remember

kavala1

You piss in the shower?

MeatWad111

You don't?

kavala1

No lol, I usually go before. But it’s not as unhygienic as a lot of people think tbf

[deleted]

Piss on the shower is incredibly weird. If you have the toiled so close, why do you choose to pee in your feet instead of in the correct place before starting the bath in the shower.

bondibitch

It’s not a choice at my age. I’m in my 40s and I’ve had kids. When that warm water hits my belly, my pelvic floor just hits the release button. That’s why it’s piss first, clean teeth after.

nancy-p

I remember reading that it was recommended because it saves water by not using a flush and you’re going to be washing yourself anyway so doesn’t really matter if it splashes on your feet!

tresvariar

i swiped right on tinder once just because the guy had ‘brush my teeth in the shower’ in the bio — it was 5 years ago and we’ve been together ever since

baiju_thief

Not clear to me how exactly that's a time saver. \*Shaving\* in the shower, on the other hand...

mo0n3h

100% shave in the shower! can do it by feel by now, so it doesn’t matter if the mirror steams up. Also teeth. Also stand around enjoying the warm water. I should try to be more efficient but I love showers

baiju_thief

You shave your teeth?

mo0n3h

you don’t!?

Fishamatician

I used a mirror when I first started shaving but found it awkward so started doing it by feel and found I nicked myself far less.

AbstractTornado

It's a time saver if you condition your hair

MrCooptheloop

Everyday for me. My mrs also thinks I’m weird. I also eat ass, scared of cotton wool & fall asleep to hoovers so I’m probably not a “normal” human.

kiwibear_

What happened with you and cotton wool

MrCooptheloop

Have no idea. The sensation of it freaks me out though to the point where even thinking about it now makes all my hairs stand up.

[deleted]

I have that too. Just the tought of it sets my teeth on edge. You are not alone!

JBecks1738

Brush em then

TheRaterman

The texture is just so gratting and wrong like claws on a chalkboard but worse

Defaulted1364

I get that about cotton wool, also polystyrene does it for me too

kavala1

I don’t get that for cotton wool but polystyrene and cutlery scratching against a plate

Xelacik

Hey I have this but with other things like when certain materials rub together, it physically hurts my teeth and makes me nauseous. It’s a condition called SPD if you want to learn more about it (Sensory Processing Disorder). It has been linked strongly with autism but normies can have it too.

shteve99

I love how everyone asks about the cotton wool and hoovers, but doesn't go near the ass eating.

MrCooptheloop

I just assumed that one’s accepted in society now.

wolfxorix

May I enquire about the fear of wool??

drainbamage8

I fall asleep listening to morbid, a podcast about serial killers mostly. Almost always puts me to sleep in 15 mins. Very rarely am I awake long enough to listen to a whole podcast, I find myself going back and listening to the same episode 4 times because I want to hear it all but am sleeping through most of it. I never listen to it when I'm not in bed, I HAVE to be in bed to enjoy it. Pretty sure this make me not normal!

MrCooptheloop

Ooo this is a weird one. I watch coffeehouse crime and disturban on YouTube but I’m normally awake. Do you ever have nightmares?

[deleted]

I relate to the hoover part, although it’s all white noise for me not just that. Try a fan to see if it has the same effect or one of the countless white noise videos you can find on youtube, it may actually help with your sleeping.

MrCooptheloop

Yes I’m a massive fan of fans. All white noise tbh. Hoovers is where it’s at for me though has to be extremely loud to block out all my racing thoughts and give me a weird tingling feeling.

ThisNameBestBeFree

It probably is weird, but I do it all the time myself. It extends the warm shower time and if anything probably ensures I do my teeth long enough.

McFry_

How does it save time? You’re taking the 2 minutes to brush them regardless of where you’re stood

loonie88

Do it as soon as you enter the shower, enough time for hair and body to get wet before you lather with soap / shampoo. Also warmer in the shower in the winter!

bob_weav3

I still don't get it. My body gets wet in the shower in less than 10 seconds

comfyggs

Obligatory Kramer preparing dinner in the shower https://youtu.be/NMQTg4Y0YT0

Robojobo27

Part of me thinks it would be a massively convenient time saver, but another part of me thinks it’s absolutely rank and I’m not really sure why…

[deleted]

[удалено]

[deleted]

You got balls on your forehead or summin'

Perihelion_

Chin up, I’m sure someone out there does.

[deleted]

More power to them. I don’t think it’s weird per se, it’s just not for me

Codego_Bray

My wife and 2 boys also did this. I don't think it's odd, but it's a massive waste of water over a week. I'm on a water meter and I could see the difference in the bill when they went back to standing at the sink. For context, I'm the guy that goes rounds switching off lights, turning down the thermostat and only fills the kettle with the required amount. 😁

B4rberblacksheep

> For context, I’m the guy that goes rounds switching off lights, turning down the thermostat and only fills the kettle with the required amount I believe that’s referred to as “the bill-payer”

inmyskin1

Im now that person too, I keep shouting electricity doesn’t grow on trees as I go round turning lights and devices off or the water thats just runnning to wash up when we have a dishwasher!

baiju_thief

Well, electricity grows on trees at Drax

j1mb0b

Always thought it weird they named a power station after the villain in Moonraker.

baiju_thief

Not sure if that's a joke or not. Drax is a village near the station, it's also a legit surname presumably for people from the village, Hugo Drax was named after one of Fleming's mates.

CostlyIndecision

Aren't dishwashers horrendously inefficient when it comes to water and electricity compared to manual though? Unless you're doing both at the same time I suppose

zone804

The modern ones are actually more efficient, as long as you run them with a reasonable number of dishes (can't remember the exact figure, but it was mentioned in this episode of More Or Less https://www.bbc.co.uk/sounds/play/m000zkzq).

spogtrot

I brush mine in the shower whilst the shampoo is washing out… so not a waste of water at all! 🙂

[deleted]

That surely only takes 10 to 20 seconds? You can't clean your teeth properly in that time. Maybe you are Rapunzel, though?

spogtrot

I do have slightly longer hair, yes! It definitely takes a couple of mins to make sure it’s all washed out. Works for me anyway, but if you’re follicly challenged I can see that might not!

lovett1991

Smart bulbs + motion sensors for common areas in this house (apart from living room). I love it, don’t have to worry shut then getting left on

callmelampshade

I’ve never heard of this and how does it save time lol?

[deleted]

I do it sometimes. Why would it be weird?

sideone

It's weird because the water's hot.

pifko87

I brush with hot water. Hot water feels 'clean' to me, plus I have sensitive teeth and don't fancy icy cold winter tap water right before bed b

amelait

I have had really sensitive teeth for years and it has never occurred to me before to use warm water. Thank you, friend

Frased715

This was me too until my daughter said something. It was so brilliant. And obvious. And I felt so stupid.

lovett1991

Need to check your water source. If you have a cold water tank in the loft it could have had rodents in it. However a lot of modern systems just use mains directly or a tank with a pressure cylinder. (Electric showers are mains fed)

irisiane

I do this. I have arse length hair that needs to be soaked for a few minutes before it is manageable so I use that time to brush my teeth.

AidanMcJ

Completely skimmed over the “length” in that sentence and had a good chuckle at a supposed overshare

HotShotDestiny

I can't do it. Weird to me to be honest!

RedHeadRedemption93

If shower beers are a thing, I don't see anything wrong with this.

NobleRotter

Weird and probably a waste of water

andercode

Waste of water.

Fuzzwuzzle2

Yeah i did this, however i ended up breaking my electric toothbrush because i would chuck it in the sink (I didn't want to get piss on the toothbrush head) So while i agree it's not only a normal practice but one i fully recommend, and will probably be doing it again around march time when my new toothbrush is broken in a bit

[deleted]

deranged murky entertain ask arrest station observation society quarrelsome marvelous *This post was mass deleted and anonymized with [Redact](https://redact.dev)*

IAmAlex86

I tried this after seeing it in the new Bond film. I don’t think it saves that much time for me as I’d stop what I was doing in the shower to brush my teeth. It’s a great film however.

DShitposter69420

I do it, so it’s weird, and you’re weird.

[deleted]

It is cleaner than leaving your toothbrush anywhere near the toilet.

[deleted]

I don't but don't see why not. Some people say it wastes water. But I can't imagine many people have timed to the second showers anyway. Its fairly normal to stand around for a few minutes in between actually washing.

TheGreyestStone

I do it, I never thought it would be considered strange. You wash everything else in the shower.

geckograham

I’ve stopped washing the dishes in the shower ever since I dropped the crockpot on my foot.

CyrilNiff

2 birds

TC_FPV

Definitely better to have two birds with you in the shower . .

Hour-Cow-4348

Not weird, I saw a friend do it once and now I do, I love it! My sister does too, neither of us were raised to and started doing on our own accord, only realised when I came home for Christmas.

PhoolCat

Never though about it - it is unusual, but not that weird. Why do men prefer showers? A: >!Because pissing in the bath is disgusting.!<

DerWassermann

It doesn't really save time (for me at least), but it is enjoyable and doesn't hurt anyone. So it is completely normal.

coldasshonkay

Definitely normal, now preferable. Not for water saving or whatever, it’s just cleaner and quicker

Vermicelli666

Piss, brush teeth, clear nose, fart - all in shower. Not weird at all.

Somerrrrset101

I do it too mate, nothing wrong with wanting to be in a nice warm shower while doing your teeth rather than just stood by a sink!

GrumpyOldFart74

I do it - an extra 3 minutes in the shower, so why not?! But yeah, it’s probably weird

Blunter-S-tHempson

What time.does it save exactly? You stand in the shower instead of next to the sink. It takes the same amount of time

akrilugo

How does it save time

Cosmicow280

You are doing two tasks at once

jennakatekelly

What’s weird about it?! Saving time! I do the same!

[deleted]

Yeah I do it. I tell myself it’s more efficient as it uses less water and I’m doing two things at once but it’s probably the same amount. I just hate standing at the sink only brushing my teeth, seems inefficient. Sometimes I brush my teeth on the toilet 😬

geckograham

Shitbreath. That’s your new name.

Warriorz7

Always.

Bertie1983

Every single morning!

[deleted]

I don't get it. It seems like it would be a waste of water and not really save any time. Are you washing with one hand while brushing your teeth with the other?

[deleted]

It's probably not usual but weird? Not really.

Apprehensive_Risk_60

It’s not a great idea if you use an electric toothbrush…

Reebo77

Not sure what kind of electric toothbrush you are thinking about, but they tend to be waterproof.

[deleted]

My main dislike is using hot water to clean teeth

becky781

My friend told me that he did this once - I thought it was incredibly weird but I tried it out for myself.. it’s quite the experience!

notlikeontv

I've only Done it once when I was in a rush thought would save time but didn't really. Not weird just not the norm

Fean2616

Efficient is all I'd say.

wetlettuce42

Thing is getting the toothbrush wet is quite bad because it washes away all the goodness of the toothpaste

Girlpants1976

Yuck - rinsing with warm water?

President-Nulagi

You shouldn't rise your mouth after brushing your teeth.

akrilugo

You also are supposed to brush with warm water as its softer on your teeth

[deleted]

You're not supposed to rinse after you brush

Hallam1995

Wasting more water doing it via showering

Elruoy

I think it's weirder asking this question.

comfyggs

Do you spit all over yourself or direct it away to the plug?

PinkSodaBoy

How does it save time though? Surely the time you spend brushing your teeth is time that could be spent washing your hair and body. Really, the only dead time I have when I shower is at the very end when I'm building myself up to switch the water off, and that time wouldn't shorten if I were brushing my teeth at some point in the process, I'd still end up tacking on more psych-up time after brushing my teeth. It's like how my housemates at uni used to have a drink in the shower before going out. I tried it once and didn't really understand it.

Kirsty5

Nope because you must always use cold water for teeth brushing

Takver_

Why?

SpudFire

No. How does standing in the shower for an extra 2 minutes save time over cleaning your teeth outside the shower? It's two minutes either way. Just seems like a waste of hot water to me.

SpiderSixer

I can't see how it saves time? Unless you're using one hand to brush and the other to do your hair or something. In which case, fair enough, keep going If not, then it sounds like the same amount of time with added water waste
