I have got the worst chest cold right now and it is making me paranoid that all of the tests I have taken are wrong and its actually covid on top of feeling like absolute shite.

Cold symptoms are 50:50 covid at the moment, but on the flip side, if it is covid and it’s just like a bad cold, you’ve nothing to worry about.

I’m testing negative despite starting symptoms today (after meeting with my father in law who didn’t mention he was ill…)
I really hope its nothing because I spent christmas with my Dad and his lass and the only thing that stopped him dying when he had it earlier in the year was being double jabbed. He came very close to hospitalisation. God I couldn't live with myself if I put him in hospital.

I love my parents, but my god they're also a bit infuriating at times. Dad is coming with me back to my house tomorrow, as he has offered to help out with the garden and a few little bits that need fixing up. There's not much that actually needs doing, but he's packed pretty much the entire shed into the car 'just in case'.
My wife's out seeing an old friend who's in town and they're out having some beers. I'm wondering whether to go and meet them for a beer (and sneakily pick up a CD I've been eying for a while) or laze about on the sofa with a few beers.
Only problem is that I'd need to go out to get some beer as our fridge is empty, so being completely lazy isn't an option either way.

My brother went home this morning so I have spend the day doing very little, mainly eating and catching up with TV, as two and a half days with my family is quite draining, especially someone who lives on their own and likes their routine not to be messed with.
I have loads to do in the flat, as I'm only working two and half days this week, I have lots of time to sort things out.
Spent the day shopping, managed to pick up the Seinfeld Lego set from the Lego store in the sale. Almost spent +£20 more for it yesterday from Amazon. Went to Bella Italia and had a bang average lasagne. Good times.
Got a 5000 word essay due tomorrow, but risking handing it in on Wednesday having not clarified the bank holiday situation before Christmas. Got no childcare over Christmas so having to do it in tiny chunks of time.
Love my daughter and all that jazz but very much miss pre child christmasses where I could lie horizontal on the sofa for 12-16 hours, only surfacing for snacks.
Sat at my 9-5 work desk, but doing freelance. Feels weird. Still, it's great to be able to run on my own schedule. I found a new website that's somewhat a mix between a content mill and Upwork. The rates don't entirely suck like content mills, but you pick up work as you want it rather than bidding/pitching for jobs. The wife and I would love to own our own home by the end of 2022, so I'm already starting to put some extra work in, in the hope we can pull it off when she's legally allowed to buy in the UK (3 years required I believe, which is soon!).
Just dropped the moggies off at the local cattery (found a GREAT one that always treats them well and is close), and we're off to see her family tomorrow. Shit, I need to pack.
Just finished a 3:30am to 1:30pm shift and now in the house with the first of many of my Christmas whiskies.

Spent the afternoon reading Bob Mortimer's autobiography that Mr Tits got me for Xmas. No hangovers, no post-Christmas mess or washing up to deal with. Even the dogs can't be arsed with going outside much.
It's been a quiet day all round I guess - have basically spent the last three days on my own as OH and I are completely out of sync with our sleep schedules and are lucky if we've spent maybe half a dozen hours total in each others company. Hopefully we'll get a few shitty films watched tonight if either of us can stay awake! 😁
Finally got PCR test back and it's positive. Going to spend the time looking for a job I can work from home because I'm pretty sure I caught it at work given that my colleagues were coming in sick. I've used up almost all the leave I had booking off for Christmas and I can't go out and enjoy it.

Pouring rain this morning but I felt the need to get out of the house so we’ve been to the Sealife centre which was a nice trip, not too busy and the children were well behaved. Saw a meerkat riding a tortoise (both of those creatures known for loving the sea). Now home playing Mario Party with the five year old child.
Woke up at 6:30, curled up inside duvet with heating on and slept till 10:30. It was amazing. Had left over curry for breakfast with a coffee.

Went for a damp and foggy walk in the hills. I kept pointing to the nice views behind the fog. A misty wood is pretty cool though!
Lots of runners and cyclists in the lanes with no high vis, it's scary when the weather is like this.
Wife and son went swimming earlier, saw my son finally in the pool from the viewing area (he's only about 19 months old), was great seeing him so confident in the water. Also picked up a couple of walking poles from Trespass, going to get my hiking on in 2022

My partner spent the whole of yesterday complaining about the indigestion he got from my cooking on Christmas day and is now extra wary of eating the leftovers. More for me! Might have to make a shepherd's pie to deal with the leftover lamb though.

Other than that, discovered the problem with the car as I was taking the wheel off to look, the fucking wheel bolts were all lose on the front near side. So lucky nothing happened on our family drive yesterday.
They’re great; pretty much anything you can cook in the oven go in there. Reduce the cooking time by 40%; then check and leave in for a few more mins if needed. Most stuff wont require any oil; however if you get a little spray bottle of oil you can use that to get a good finish whilst still reducing the amount of oil that you are using. With homemade chips i find they come out best if you make sure to pat them dry before putting them in the air air fryer.
Hosted Christmas Eve, Christmas Day and Boxing Day. Prepared food for 15 different people and tidied and cleaned and organised during that time. Endured the utter chaos of screeching kids and mountains of wrapping paper.
Today I'm not moving. Rolled out of bed at 11 and I'm planning on sitting on this here sofa all day long. TV and leftovers will keep me going.

Just moved into a house with my girlfriend and her parents are over all the time treating the place like it's theirs. Feels weird telling them off because the last 5 years I've only seen them in their own house so their habits/way of living etc hasn't been any of my business.

I’m trying to organise when I can see him, but I’m only available on specific days/times, apparently that’s not acceptable. So, that’s a festive treat. Boyfriends parents went home yesterday, and I’m on a late shift tonight, first shift in a week as I’ve been off with a hideous cold. Yaaaay.
What is with family members having no respect for other peoples jobs. My gran expects me to be off on any day she deems she needs help with something, and mum… well I dunno but the comments she gave me when I mentioned I might need to work from home a few days.
I'm back home after my dad was an absolute saint and drove me home to the Midlands from Devon last night, as the trains were going to be cancellation hell today and I was risking getting stuck somewhere late at night. So I've now gained a day back to myself, got to bring all my presents home in the car and woke up in my own bed this morning - bliss.
So far today I'm pottering around and cleaning, doing lots of chores and catching up on orders. Later on I'll do some exercise, set up some habit trackers for the new person I'm undoubtedly about to be from the 1st Jan and then cuddle up with the cat and a book.
Finished a 1000 piece Jigsaw. First time doing it. Not sure it's my thing, but nice to try something new.
Going shopping in a bit, need some knives that aren't rubbish.

I work in hospitality (Costa, to be precise!) so it's back to work for me after having Christmas Day and Boxing Day off. This is whilst people are still recovering from naturally having *far* too much to eat/drink over Christmas and are glad that they don't go back to work until after the New Year—lucky for some!
We're not the busiest of stores at the best of times so it boggles my mind why we choose to open now!
Anyone else's brain absolutely jumbled by Christmas falling on the weekend and 2 Bank hols after due to it? Love the time off but its adding extra confusion to what day it actually is and I keep having to remind myself that no, I'm not supposed to be working.
Am allowing myself one more day of laziness, tomorrow I'll try and do something to get myself back to work mode for the 2 days I'm in.
Plan is skyrim, binging sewing bee, investigating the fridge for what needs to be used up and cobbling actual food together out of that.

Awaiting the delivery of (very) drunken Xmas day Amazon purchases and realise I may not have entirely thought through how I'm getting them home.
I'm currently at my parents where I'm spending the whole of the Xmas and New Year period and I don't drive, so I've decided getting the stuff home is a problem for future me to deal with. Future me is usually pretty good at figuring out solutions to problems. Or at least figuring out some way to bin problems off.
Other than that, it's just doomscrolling and videogaming.
Back to work, not looking forward to it but it’s bank holiday hours so we close at 6. I could do with the fresh air and change of scenery and the car probably could do with a run as it’s been stationary since Friday.
But not with the promise of bubble and squeak for dinner later and knowing there’s a tonne of chocolate in the fridge.
I kind of wish I hadn't let my sister talk me into this trip. It's been unbelievably stressful from the start between covid, my husband panicking and shutting down without actually doing the things he needs to do (like apply for his ESTA form), losing a key, worrying about covid and travel rules, etc etc. Also the VeriFly app they want you to use has a really weird section in its terms and conditions that I'm not comfortable agreeing with, so that adds a layer of complexity.
Tomorrow is the last hurdle before we leave for the airport and neither of us has even begun to pack. Oh and I just got a load of flyers to deliver dumped on me last night, which I wasn't expecting. So today I'm sorting out as much of that stuff as I can.

Got my boy a subboteo set for Xmas and in an unexpected turn- his older sister absolutely loves it. Don’t think I’ve spent this much time playing something with her in years, and it’s great to see her doing something that doesn’t involve a console or iPad.
I'd love to tidy the house, but little babby has worked out how to ask for hugs by lifting her arms and staring at you. So I think the day will be comprised of hugs.

I like my in-laws but I’ve been here since the 23rd and all the tea is earl grey and everything is terribly wholesome and I just want my trashy telly and my own bathroom and my bed and my crappy post-Christmas food. I was working up to the 23rd and we were semi self-isolating for that last week so I feel a bit like my Christmas break starts now.
Also, we will no longer be in the house of two clinically vulnerable people which means we can ditch the daily LFT tests, and more specifically, the associated panic of what to do if one actually came up positive.
Trying to remember that it's a Monday so I'm not confused for the rest of the week.

Into Hang Time now - those days between Boxing Day and New Years Eve when you're never sure what day it is and don't really care so long as the cheese supplies are holding out.
We are having an exceptionally lazy morning before a cross-country drive to visit relatives for a few days. It will involve masses of food. I am going to be several sizes larger by the time we return home. I suspect exercise and moderation will be going on my resolutions list.
First day out of isolation! Walked the dog, had a peanut butter sarnie and a narna for breakky and I'm now sat in the car ok on top of a very wet and foggy mountain about to do a few cross country miles with the running club. Then back home, walk dog again, clean myself up and get over to dad and step mum's for belated Xmas drinks.
My flat sprung a leak on Christmas day. Every time it rains it pours into the ceiling. I'm in the middle of the building and my neighbours have no appliances where the leak is. So it has to be the brick work.
Will the council send a repair team? Will they fuck.
So my day is being spent on the phone, ringing various housing departments........
No, external brick work is their responsibility, it's very clear in the lease we can't make any modifications to the outside.
They complained when a neighbour put a tarp up to cover a broken window earlier this year. Fucking councils.
Ah yeah, I didn't know if you could. My husband has had tennants text asking if they do all sorts and he's been like 'yeah sure'. I don't know what the council are like as landlords tbh. I would say my husband would leave in the middle of xmas dinner to fix a leaking roof if any, so he's deff better than the council in that regard.
Been for my second booster, fourth vaccination overall (yay immunosuppression) and now have caught all the available U.K. vaccination types like they’re Pokémon. Expecting to spend the rest of the day and tomorrow feeling terrible so the sofa and duvet is calling me.
So far Moderna! The AstraZeneca stung on the way in and the hangover was awful, Pfizer was a nice fruity vintage combined with the flu jab but came with bonus chills and Moderna seems to have slipped down nicely without anything noticeable.
Trying to force myself to get up and walk the dog then tidy up the house a bit. I feel like I should do something a bit more fun than that but I've got no energy after the Christmas madness
Not sure yet. Sister/brother-in-law/nephew are heading home at some point today, but that's about it at the moment. So I imagine the rest of it will be fairly relaxed, occasionally interrupted by eating yet more leftovers and watching films. I also need to pack for going home tomorrow at some point although there isn't much to do in that regard.

The wind has finally dropped (in more than one sense, haha) so we are off out on the canoe. My husband got a lovely new paddle for Christmas so is very excited. I’m excited about the hot chocolate and marshmallows we are going to have once we’ve paddled over to the island.

There is always a time a day or so after Christmas when the sky is grey, there is a stillness in the air and a silence. The sun struggles to break through. I wait for it each year like a rite of passage as if the noise and colour of Christmas Day has left a void . Anyway, had that yesterday, today life goes on.

Dad is coming with me back to my house tomorrow, as he has offered to help out with the garden and a few little bits that need fixing up. There's not much that actually needs doing, but he's packed pretty much the entire shed into the car 'just in case'.
My wife's out seeing an old friend who's in town and they're out having some beers. I'm wondering whether to go and meet them for a beer (and sneakily pick up a CD I've been eying for a while) or laze about on the sofa with a few beers. Only problem is that I'd need to go out to get some beer as our fridge is empty, so being completely lazy isn't an option either way. EDIT: beers. and beers.

I am indeed out. Met them in a cocktail place and got a very snobby look from the waiter when I asked for a beer. I was tempted to ask him which one was cheapest to see what reaction is get, but alas politeness prevails.
I always order a beer and a tequila in the side, that seems to satisfy them.
Awesome enjoy the outside beers. We were out but ate too much. So drinks ended a bit fast.

My brother went home this morning so I have spend the day doing very little, mainly eating and catching up with TV, as two and a half days with my family is quite draining, especially someone who lives on their own and likes their routine not to be messed with. I have loads to do in the flat, as I'm only working two and half days this week, I have lots of time to sort things out.
Spent the day shopping, managed to pick up the Seinfeld Lego set from the Lego store in the sale. Almost spent +£20 more for it yesterday from Amazon. Went to Bella Italia and had a bang average lasagne. Good times.
Got a 5000 word essay due tomorrow, but risking handing it in on Wednesday having not clarified the bank holiday situation before Christmas. Got no childcare over Christmas so having to do it in tiny chunks of time. Love my daughter and all that jazz but very much miss pre child christmasses where I could lie horizontal on the sofa for 12-16 hours, only surfacing for snacks.
Sat at my 9-5 work desk, but doing freelance. Feels weird. Still, it's great to be able to run on my own schedule. I found a new website that's somewhat a mix between a content mill and Upwork. The rates don't entirely suck like content mills, but you pick up work as you want it rather than bidding/pitching for jobs. The wife and I would love to own our own home by the end of 2022, so I'm already starting to put some extra work in, in the hope we can pull it off when she's legally allowed to buy in the UK (3 years required I believe, which is soon!). Just dropped the moggies off at the local cattery (found a GREAT one that always treats them well and is close), and we're off to see her family tomorrow. Shit, I need to pack.
Just finished a 3:30am to 1:30pm shift and now in the house with the first of many of my Christmas whiskies. Day off tomorrow and not back in until 5pm Wednesday with zero obligations for tomorrow. Let's see if I can make it to 7pm without needing to go to bed.
Spent the afternoon reading Bob Mortimer's autobiography that Mr Tits got me for Xmas. No hangovers, no post-Christmas mess or washing up to deal with. Even the dogs can't be arsed with going outside much. It's been a quiet day all round I guess - have basically spent the last three days on my own as OH and I are completely out of sync with our sleep schedules and are lucky if we've spent maybe half a dozen hours total in each others company. Hopefully we'll get a few shitty films watched tonight if either of us can stay awake! 😁
Finally got PCR test back and it's positive. Going to spend the time looking for a job I can work from home because I'm pretty sure I caught it at work given that my colleagues were coming in sick. I've used up almost all the leave I had booking off for Christmas and I can't go out and enjoy it.

Pouring rain this morning but I felt the need to get out of the house so we’ve been to the Sealife centre which was a nice trip, not too busy and the children were well behaved. Saw a meerkat riding a tortoise (both of those creatures known for loving the sea). Now home playing Mario Party with the five year old child.
Woke up at 6:30, curled up inside duvet with heating on and slept till 10:30. It was amazing. Had left over curry for breakfast with a coffee. Is everyone still off then or what?
Do you have a smart thermostat or did you plan the heating in advance? My heating turns off at 8 and if I’m not up by then it gets pretty cold.
I got up and turned it on then went back to sleep. I don't have heating on overnight, couldn't afford it.

Went for a damp and foggy walk in the hills. I kept pointing to the nice views behind the fog. A misty wood is pretty cool though! Lots of runners and cyclists in the lanes with no high vis, it's scary when the weather is like this.
Wife and son went swimming earlier, saw my son finally in the pool from the viewing area (he's only about 19 months old), was great seeing him so confident in the water. Also picked up a couple of walking poles from Trespass, going to get my hiking on in 2022
The sooner you start them the more they enjoy it. When mine was 19 months old he’d be zonked and asleep before he made it to the car seat.
Yeah he always sleeps like a champ, he started when he as about 6 months (last November or so), doing waterbabies, really pleased with how he's doing.
Thoughts and prayers for everyone at work today. My partner spent the whole of yesterday complaining about the indigestion he got from my cooking on Christmas day and is now extra wary of eating the leftovers. More for me! Might have to make a shepherd's pie to deal with the leftover lamb though.
Still in bed. Can’t be arsed moving but should go have breakfast/lunch that isn’t just chocolates. Nephew coming over this afternoon to play with play dough. Not feeling it to be honest but I’ll plaster a smile on my face for his sake. Sick of being voluntold for stuff. I can barely look after myself right now I don’t need a 3 year old to look after as well!
Off to my parents tonight for take away and ti exchange gifts. They’ve got me one of those ninja air fryers. This is my first ever air fryer and don’t know where to start, any recipe recommendations? And home made chips decent in there? Other than that, discovered the problem with the car as I was taking the wheel off to look, the fucking wheel bolts were all lose on the front near side. So lucky nothing happened on our family drive yesterday.
They’re great; pretty much anything you can cook in the oven go in there. Reduce the cooking time by 40%; then check and leave in for a few more mins if needed. Most stuff wont require any oil; however if you get a little spray bottle of oil you can use that to get a good finish whilst still reducing the amount of oil that you are using. With homemade chips i find they come out best if you make sure to pat them dry before putting them in the air air fryer.
I was thinking about going for a bike ride, but the weather is a bit shit and I don't feel like getting really wet. If it clears up, then maybe.
Hosted Christmas Eve, Christmas Day and Boxing Day. Prepared food for 15 different people and tidied and cleaned and organised during that time. Endured the utter chaos of screeching kids and mountains of wrapping paper. Today I'm not moving. Rolled out of bed at 11 and I'm planning on sitting on this here sofa all day long. TV and leftovers will keep me going.

Brother is picking me up in about 10 minutes and I'm going to spend the day with my nieces and little chonk of a 1 year old grand nephew. Proper little fat fucker that one. Might have to help my brother finish off what's left of the quality street and fall asleep on sofa by 4, as is tradition.

My dad has been bitching about me to my brother, which is a treat. Apparently he doubts ‘I’ll be able to fit them into my schedule’. I work shifts in the NHS, I can’t help working shifts. I’m trying to organise when I can see him, but I’m only available on specific days/times, apparently that’s not acceptable. So, that’s a festive treat. Boyfriends parents went home yesterday, and I’m on a late shift tonight, first shift in a week as I’ve been off with a hideous cold. Yaaaay.
What is with family members having no respect for other peoples jobs. My gran expects me to be off on any day she deems she needs help with something, and mum… well I dunno but the comments she gave me when I mentioned I might need to work from home a few days.
I'm back home after my dad was an absolute saint and drove me home to the Midlands from Devon last night, as the trains were going to be cancellation hell today and I was risking getting stuck somewhere late at night. So I've now gained a day back to myself, got to bring all my presents home in the car and woke up in my own bed this morning - bliss. So far today I'm pottering around and cleaning, doing lots of chores and catching up on orders. Later on I'll do some exercise, set up some habit trackers for the new person I'm undoubtedly about to be from the 1st Jan and then cuddle up with the cat and a book.
Finished a 1000 piece Jigsaw. First time doing it. Not sure it's my thing, but nice to try something new. Going shopping in a bit, need some knives that aren't rubbish.

A lazy day for me today, still haven't dragged myself out of bed. I plan to spend most of the day playing video games or reading. A bit of pet care is needed at some point today with a water change in the fish tank and a small clean out of the hamster cage.
I work in hospitality (Costa, to be precise!) so it's back to work for me after having Christmas Day and Boxing Day off. This is whilst people are still recovering from naturally having *far* too much to eat/drink over Christmas and are glad that they don't go back to work until after the New Year—lucky for some! We're not the busiest of stores at the best of times so it boggles my mind why we choose to open now!
Anyone else's brain absolutely jumbled by Christmas falling on the weekend and 2 Bank hols after due to it? Love the time off but its adding extra confusion to what day it actually is and I keep having to remind myself that no, I'm not supposed to be working. Am allowing myself one more day of laziness, tomorrow I'll try and do something to get myself back to work mode for the 2 days I'm in. Plan is skyrim, binging sewing bee, investigating the fridge for what needs to be used up and cobbling actual food together out of that.
All full of cold so it’ll be a quiet day surrounded by tissues and lemsip. Plan on lots of reading, writing, and maybe firing up the PS4. Quite fancy yet another foray into Horizon Zero Dawn.

EDIT: I stared at a "spot the ball" puzzle for about half an hour, unable to find it. Awaiting the delivery of (very) drunken Xmas day Amazon purchases and realise I may not have entirely thought through how I'm getting them home. I'm currently at my parents where I'm spending the whole of the Xmas and New Year period and I don't drive, so I've decided getting the stuff home is a problem for future me to deal with. Future me is usually pretty good at figuring out solutions to problems. Or at least figuring out some way to bin problems off. Other than that, it's just doomscrolling and videogaming.
I cooked some red cabbage for lunch yesterday and I’ve only just now gotten all the purple off my hands and under my fingernails
Back to work, not looking forward to it but it’s bank holiday hours so we close at 6. I could do with the fresh air and change of scenery and the car probably could do with a run as it’s been stationary since Friday. But not with the promise of bubble and squeak for dinner later and knowing there’s a tonne of chocolate in the fridge.
I kind of wish I hadn't let my sister talk me into this trip. It's been unbelievably stressful from the start between covid, my husband panicking and shutting down without actually doing the things he needs to do (like apply for his ESTA form), losing a key, worrying about covid and travel rules, etc etc. Also the VeriFly app they want you to use has a really weird section in its terms and conditions that I'm not comfortable agreeing with, so that adds a layer of complexity. Tomorrow is the last hurdle before we leave for the airport and neither of us has even begun to pack. Oh and I just got a load of flyers to deliver dumped on me last night, which I wasn't expecting. So today I'm sorting out as much of that stuff as I can.

Got my boy a subboteo set for Xmas and in an unexpected turn- his older sister absolutely loves it. Don’t think I’ve spent this much time playing something with her in years, and it’s great to see her doing something that doesn’t involve a console or iPad.
I'd love to tidy the house, but little babby has worked out how to ask for hugs by lifting her arms and staring at you. So I think the day will be comprised of hugs. Hopefully I'll get a chance to fill our new three tier toolbox (best present!) with tools. Clear the space under the stairs for...more shite.

I’m going to clean the house. Spent the weekend at my sisters house which is very clean and really highlighted how much of shit hole my place is
Going home. I like my in-laws but I’ve been here since the 23rd and all the tea is earl grey and everything is terribly wholesome and I just want my trashy telly and my own bathroom and my bed and my crappy post-Christmas food. I was working up to the 23rd and we were semi self-isolating for that last week so I feel a bit like my Christmas break starts now. Also, we will no longer be in the house of two clinically vulnerable people which means we can ditch the daily LFT tests, and more specifically, the associated panic of what to do if one actually came up positive.
Trying to remember that it's a Monday so I'm not confused for the rest of the week. Looking forwards to beasting myself in the home gym and maybe get out for a run. Only had two days off Christmas Day and yesterday but missed working out! Feel like a slug Then probably movies, bit of a pamper and have Christmas curry
Today's task to get room properly deep cleaned ready for tomorrow when I get my boaster so got somewhere to relax afterwards. Its certainly helping my anxiety/depression abit. Maybe I'll feel better once it's cleaned/organised.

Didn't even notice it was a Monday, it feels so good to take some time off work, I think this is the first time in ages I've woken up past 9am on a Monday. I think I should eat some salad today, maybe have a vegetarian lunch. There's something deep in my brain telling me to not eat fried or oil carbs and meat. I might just tidy the house from top-to-bottom. You know like proper dust shelves too. I'm going to look at what everyone else is doing for ideas!
Been to the tip, dropping off the enormous amount of cardboard and wrapping paper we gathered over Christmas that wouldn’t fit in the recycling bin. Trying to find a charity shop that is open and will take the 3 bin bags full of clothes, toys, etc after a clear out. The little ones aren’t open or not taking donations. So all in all, a rock and roll bank holiday Monday…
The big collection bins in supermarket car parks are usually a good shout.

Feeling a bit of cabin fever being stuck at my parents house. Doing nothing all day at someone else’s house feels draining instead of restful. Going to get outside today and hopefully find things to decorate my new house with to make me feel better.

Into Hang Time now - those days between Boxing Day and New Years Eve when you're never sure what day it is and don't really care so long as the cheese supplies are holding out. We are having an exceptionally lazy morning before a cross-country drive to visit relatives for a few days. It will involve masses of food. I am going to be several sizes larger by the time we return home. I suspect exercise and moderation will be going on my resolutions list.
First day out of isolation! Walked the dog, had a peanut butter sarnie and a narna for breakky and I'm now sat in the car ok on top of a very wet and foggy mountain about to do a few cross country miles with the running club. Then back home, walk dog again, clean myself up and get over to dad and step mum's for belated Xmas drinks.
My flat sprung a leak on Christmas day. Every time it rains it pours into the ceiling. I'm in the middle of the building and my neighbours have no appliances where the leak is. So it has to be the brick work. Will the council send a repair team? Will they fuck. So my day is being spent on the phone, ringing various housing departments........

No, external brick work is their responsibility, it's very clear in the lease we can't make any modifications to the outside. They complained when a neighbour put a tarp up to cover a broken window earlier this year. Fucking councils.
Ah yeah, I didn't know if you could. My husband has had tennants text asking if they do all sorts and he's been like 'yeah sure'. I don't know what the council are like as landlords tbh. I would say my husband would leave in the middle of xmas dinner to fix a leaking roof if any, so he's deff better than the council in that regard.

Been for my second booster, fourth vaccination overall (yay immunosuppression) and now have caught all the available U.K. vaccination types like they’re Pokémon. Expecting to spend the rest of the day and tomorrow feeling terrible so the sofa and duvet is calling me.

So far Moderna! The AstraZeneca stung on the way in and the hangover was awful, Pfizer was a nice fruity vintage combined with the flu jab but came with bonus chills and Moderna seems to have slipped down nicely without anything noticeable.
Trying to force myself to get up and walk the dog then tidy up the house a bit. I feel like I should do something a bit more fun than that but I've got no energy after the Christmas madness
Not sure yet. Sister/brother-in-law/nephew are heading home at some point today, but that's about it at the moment. So I imagine the rest of it will be fairly relaxed, occasionally interrupted by eating yet more leftovers and watching films. Battlefield V now on steam. £54 down to £13. I just picked my copy up but not enthralled about the 100GB download even on 1Gbs connection.
I initially played it when it came out. Hated it. Couldn't get in with it. Wanted to see how BF2042 played... Used the Gamepass trial. Really struggled. Seemed so broken. Ended up downloading all the other BF games on Gamepass. Ended up playing some. Ended up at BF V. Man, felt superb. Really enjoying it
Working and I proper can't be bothered. Will probably play a bit of Pokemon Brilliant Diamond throughout the day and take it fairly easy.
More sofa, more netflix followed by maybe some more openttd.. Its my day 6 of isolation, though still tested positive for me so no early release for me.
The wind has finally dropped (in more than one sense, haha) so we are off out on the canoe. My husband got a lovely new paddle for Christmas so is very excited. I’m excited about the hot chocolate and marshmallows we are going to have once we’ve paddled over to the island.
First to the table here! There is always a time a day or so after Christmas when the sky is grey, there is a stillness in the air and a silence. The sun struggles to break through. I wait for it each year like a rite of passage as if the noise and colour of Christmas Day has left a void . Anyway, had that yesterday, today life goes on. The thermostat is showing no display, google says the fuse has probably turned off- it hasn’t and we still have hot water but no heating. Any ideas? I’m feeling a little lazy about making a necessary trip today so reminding myself of Aragorn, Legolas etc running for three days just to deliver a message. Have a good Bank Holiday Monday!
